Dontos's Post History

Here is the best idea for helping new players ever concieved of:

Put a mark over "newer" characters (how to define that would need to be explored) that only their team can see. The longer the player is kept alive, the more bonus points that team would get. It would be like a secondary objective. New players would not be facerolled as fast, and it would add to the fun.

Thanks peeps!
I'm wondering about Teras "state of the game". I played Tera at launch for a couple of months and quite enjoyed it. Honeslty I can't even rememebr a specific reason why I left. I think at the time I just had MMO burnout in general. Anyway I have been playing LOTRO alot lately but it isn't quite doing it for me because of the lack of any kind of good PVP. I have heard that Tera is "dead" from time to time while playing Lotro or Rift. Is this true? And how is the PVP? Is the BG they implemented any good? Is Endgame any good or just a grindfest? I guess I am just wondering how the game is doing before I plunk down the cash to come back. Thanks.
I used to think this was a problem too. It is not. Go do some testing and watch your block cooldown. I can almost garauntee you that you are trying to block in the middle of the block CD. Once the CD is done, if you are still holding down the right mouse button, your shiled goes up, USUALLY, but not always. If you dont realize the ability has a CD, it just looks like the ability is laggy and not responsive enough.

This is how you have to use Shield Counter:

1. Hold mouse button down to block
2. Activate Shield Counter when it procs
3. A FRACTION of a second after hitting shield counter, RELEASE the right mouse button.
5. Wait for a quarter of a second or so until block CD is done
4. Press the right mouse button to block again.
5. Repeat.

If you are trying to just keep block down the entire time even while Shield coutnering, Block will appear to be "buggy".

Takes a little practice. I beleive this is by design to require a bit of skill, dexterity, and timing. I assure you that if you do what I have spelled out, your issues will be gone.

As for the Aggro problem. I agree 100% since patch I have not been able to keep aggro like before. Its almost like the effectiveness of Challenging Shout has been reduced by half or so.
If you are looking for good comments about the game, don't look in the forums. This is the place where crying little babies come to complain after they either get destroyed in PVP, or fail in an instance, or rush to 60 then complain about queue times.

If you want the truth from adults, go read some game reviews.

As a long time MMO player who was in the beta of WoW and EVERY other large MMO to hit the market after that until now, I can say I have never had as much fun since WoW vanilla, month one.

I have NEVER seen structures and environments like the ones in Tera. They leave me speechless.

The combat is fun, but not as revolutionary as everyone says.

My only gripe with the game is multi-channels and the lack of wepon variety.

Clearly the Gm knew what was up and wasted your time in which you would have easily made much more than that in experience. Though I will say he was being a bit of a douche as well.

If that convo was a douche contest, Copperhorse wins. What a mess that guy is.
People should not roll on a pvp server if they need more than 4 channels to hide in.
Really you dont understand why it is nice to go right back into SF after Shield Counter? Tank a boss, then it will become apparent.

HAHAHA. I'm siding with the GM on this one. And it does not matter what GM Mary was going to do - she may have been a flipping idiot. Plus, next time you are waiting for a GM to fix your problem, and they are about to fix it, DONT GO AFK!!!

LOL.
Thanks for the replies. Eziel - I will try what you suggested.
