Camping, ganking, hiding in safe zones - all standard on a MMO. There will always be safe zones, and there will always be people who find ways around every system to kill lowbies for the lulz - no matter what the consequence is. Even if the guards near towns attacked them, they can just get friends and lulzpwn guards and low characters.
Props for trying to change it, though. Maybe EME will make it a bit harder, though I doubt the problem will every fully go away.
Can always roll on a PvE server and get your PvP needs through battlegrounds in the summer. :D
They should make the Vanarch be able to change safezones for outlaws, it would make things interesting
yea it is a stupid system that encourages griefing if they wanna be some baddie outlaw then let em be an outlaw but by my knowledge outlaws are supposedly NOT supposed to be supported by npcs hence they shouldnt even be able to interact with em if they have high infamy. now i realize this would stop open world pvp so hey use your system that gives more infamy points for killing low levels and change it so that it adds special infamy that makes you non-safezone once you have killed many players 10 levels below
like if you hav kiled more than 5 ppl 10 lvls below u within an hour u should alredy begin to be penalized liek that
eme just need an excuse to promote ppv since there isnt any so they refrain from removing safe zones to outlaws cus they will cry afterwards and quit
As we all know, party kicking has become quite a trend in TERA Online. Whether it is due to a bad community or not I do not know, but i can say the blame falls on Lancers and their constant desire to be greedy. I came up with the following stats based on surveys and forums
So you tell me, what can EME do about this and how will people avoid it killing the endangered game. Lancer is a very controversial class it is overpowered in pvp and they are mainlyr responsible for the party kicking and whispering like rats among other party members before agreeing on a kick should the class just be revamped or something?
Level 1-10 took me about an hour and a half, give or take. Levels 10-20, couples sessions. Suddenly, 30-40 is taking ages. In the beginning I was seriously worried that the game was going to go by stupidly short, but it has a pretty vicious parabolic curve. I think at this rate, 50-60 will take as long as 1-50.
Yes that is a problem with much new games...they are starting to appeal to people who want everything at the nick of time, something I do not understand as then it would get dull quite quick.
Think I will give it a try then, but by what I see the quests are indeed hopeless...guess I will have to live with it. I do not agree that all MMO's offer the same boring quests, on certain games before I have felt quests easily blend in, whereas other games (usually F2P) make it blatantly obvious that the quests were little thought-of. In RIFT for example, it may have had been a grindfest during the rift events but the storyline quests did not feel forced or dull, I actually had fun doing them and never once did I think it tedious. Aion, on the other hand, was the type that really just placed out its "kill x and get x" quests without any meaning to it.
I am thinking of giving this game a try but I am well aware of the issues it currently faces, according to the community. I hear quests are bland, that it lacks content, no endgame/pointlessness to level, and it becomes repetitive. However, I first want to know JUST how bad it actually is in these aspects.
Is the game still tolerable to a point where I can actually not mind the flaws and keep playing or will I get bored with it in less than a month? Is there something to look forward to? How exaggerated/accurate are the claims that the quests suck?
Honest answers too please...no quick dismissal of these claims, for I am well aware they are indeed a current flaw. Is giving it a try really worth the $75 I may spend on it? (Planning on $60 collectors edition if I try it, and from what I hear I will probably have to pay the $15 subscription whether I cancel prematurely or not)
