They are still discussing it, no doubt.
It must be really difficult coding an alkest with a 100% rating, it's sad that you were not able to pull it off within a 2 month period. We all look forward to getting the alkests the koreans have always had in small rations via events. Keep on working hard like you always do, the game and it's community can only get bigger from here!
4 rooms is now a dungeon? Whatever happened to balderia and other new zones to explore? Just how many tiers of gear is bluehole prepared to dedicate to level 60?
It's way too late for a friend referral system to save this game, and butchering another existing korean-system to do so is not the way to do it even if you wanted to. Did it ever occur to the people at eme, that maybe if you just gave us content in it's native form, then you wouldnt have to butcher these systems in the first place? Give us our pets back, give us our eggs, give us tcat coins for subscribing and so on. Instead, you take these things away from us, then sorta kinda give them back as if they were some special prize rather than core features the game has badly needed. Westernization kills korean mmorpgs.

Lack of research? Should I clarify? I had +9 t12 in the first month, but I was an archer not in a static so random people like yourself who didnt do research automatically equated my class with being 1 star garbage so it was an autokick, just like berserkers. My lack of research didnt change the fact that crafting changes came 6 months in and that the only way to get into a good group was to have t13 crafted which forced a lot of us to spend time and money raising crafting and then pugging for parts. Why didn't I have a static? Because most people that I met didn't stick around. I guess I should have done more research there too, and found a group of no life losers whose back I could have ridden on. Unfortunately those kinds of people were few and far between.
I know my [filtered]. The point of my post isn't to cry, but to demonstrate how nothing has actually changed game wise in 6 months. We have an elitest community with nothing to actually justify that kind of behavior. There has been no new content in 6 months outside of 2 dungeons and an old battle ground which added either side grades or irrelevant upgrades. You can still do almost all the game's content with +9 t12 if your team is competent. Gear is a crutch in this game. Pvp gear was a nice distraction, but it was a side grade. The elitiest community wont allow it for pve even though it is just as good as +9 t13 due to the way attack and power compliment each other. Once people realized this, the pvpers left because they didnt want to do pve for pve gear, and they stopped signing up for bgs so nobody does them for fun anymore. This is why nobody signed up for the battle ground tourney and now eme is pretending that 6 month players couldnt get 15k together so they dropped the fee. In reality, most of the old players are gone and its unreasonable for the people who have only been here for a month or so to raise that kind of money so nobody was signing up.
This game is still suffering from the same problem it had on launch day: nothing to do at end game except gamble for items so you can gamble for items a little easier and shoot the [filtered] in chat or on the forums. No player housing, no purposeful open world pvp, no goals a guild can work towards together, no meaningful vanarchy. This game is a giant beautiful open world of nothing. You can't instance end game content. It makes the world feel dead. Nexus was a step in the right direction, but they messed that up with the original schedule which turned it into a giant lagfest that crashes even 3 thousand dollar rigs.
Maybe in 6 months we will get all those patches korea had planned a year ago. The castle seiges, the cross server wars, and so on. I'd happily play this game for hours on in if it did and you'd never see me crying on the forums. But it looks like bluehole has decided to nickle and dime it's niche player base and turn this game into real action dressup. This is extremely disappointing.
Bojanglz on 11/01/2012, 09:15 AMVery disappointed. I was looking for something new and fun to try, but once the game took a turn close to its original release date and pushed way back along with a new team to finish it, I kind of had doubts. After playing it I realized why I did. And for it being 6 months old, I have seen other mmo's pump out a lot more content, fixes, updates etc. in the first few months than Tera has for the 6 months.
Which game has pump out more content in 6 months than Tera, I would like to know. The only problem is that they are pumping out content one-sided towards slower and more hardcore progression, and leaving the casuals out to dry. Then when the casuals complain they panicked and made kneejerk patches.
In 6 months we got:
- Higher lvl cap
- More skills
- Nexus as OWPvP incentive (even though it blows, it was still content)
- One new instance + one endgame boss instance
- BG
- Constant class rebalancing
Even WoW took longer to pump out content.
@Etik- That's your lack of research that caused you to waste money, it's not the game's fault. Altho it doesn't help that the info is not readily available, and the community isn't that helpful.

Lots of positive changes for my class that I would look forward to if there was actually content to go with them. Archer finally got some love but there's nothing to do with that love except maybe now be slightly more competent in the 1vs1s bored people do to pass the time.
I made +9 t12 weapons and armor and then was told it wasnt good enough to farm for t13. I farmed gold for months to craft t13 and then eme let everyone get 410 crafting for 100 gold in 10 minutes. I did bgs until I got a full +9 pvp set and then was told it wasnt good enough to farm for t13 again because it lacked modifiers that increased by damage by a couple hundred points. I spent more time reading on the forums about how more content was coming but it never came unless I wanted to pull out of my credit card. Now 6 months later my character isn't any better off than it was during the first month of the game, there is nothing new or exciting that I couldnt have done in the first month of release and I simply don't play, but thanks to the miracle of chrono scrolls I am paid up for 6 more months, in which time there will probably be content worth logging in for.
Moltenous on 10/19/2012, 07:38 AM - viewThe developer's have decided that their priorities will be costumes as content, therefore costumes are progression. This is a mmo, it is a social experience. People that dont look cool are worst off than those that do, this is why eme can sell hats for 30 dollars.
basically, Cosmetics items aren't "just" cosmetic items anymore.
Eh.
The way I see this is Chrono = Needed to play the game for a lot of people
Cosmetic items = Nice to have but in no way needed.

The point is this, there are breakpoints in this game where damage outscales heals, and i dont think dps classes can reach them with the gear provided. In my opinion, this isn't an equal scenario, it isn't even close. Defensive classes out scales dps in this game from the start, and it doesn't flip until high level gear with high level enchants. Giving everyone +9 bg gear rather than extractable victor would create a balanced scenario and would allow more realistic teams and strategies. My understanding is that the way attack scales in this game is not 1:1 with power. The more base attack you have, the more bonus you get from power. This is why people favor power mods on gloves over crit even though crit is so important. There are situations where you will literally do damage in the hundreds against a priest as a dps class if all you have is a victor's weapon. Obviously a healer can out heal that easily. Which is why you would want to bring extra healers for this tournament. More so than any sane person would in a real bg. Because they will be invincible little gods.
Maybe I'm over reacting and being overly negative, my bg team doesnt play this game anymore so I wont be participating anyways. But I dont think anyone is going to enjoy fighting a bunch of priests that are in it to win it.
Etikilam on 10/18/2012, 12:55 PMTreeshark on 10/17/2012, 11:34 PMThe victors set is not enchantable.
I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt but you guys never fail to disappoint. Giving everyone extractable gear isnt balanced at all, it instead heavily favors a defensive group heavy with healers and tanks which is nothing like a real battle ground. As a game developer, you do understand that power and attack are not static but scale right? You understand that the reason they do this is to offset defense which is static, right?
This won't show who is better in any way shape or form. You gearless people who barely participate in bgs, you really think this going to be fair? You have no idea how this game works on a mechanical level. You are ignorantly going to create a team that you think might work in a real bg situation, and you are going to be dominated by the people who stack priests. This means the big clans with huge pools of healers are going to dominate. Not because they are good, but because this tourney is basically rigged in their favor from the start. No amount of personal skill or strategy is going to beat the basic math requirements that it takes to down a healer when everyone is wearing low level gear.
I foresee the vot top pvpers winning this. Not because they are better than you at pvp, but because they play to win. They basically cheat, they have bad sportsmanship, and all that jazz. They are going to come onto the field with a party or two full of healers and tanks and you will be helpless against it, because all you guys bringing your "real" parties full of archers and zerkers and slayers wont be doing enough damage to counter the healfest that eme has encouraged.
I highly suggest that eme amends it's rules and places a limit on classes, or at the very least on priests.
Your post has nothing to do with Eme's decision on gear restrictions (which in a horribly gear orientated game where 1 tier in gear can make a massive difference, Eme's has made the riight decision) But more around the fact that priests are downright broken (no not healers, just priests) and thats what tournies are good for, showing off this imbalance.
that and honestly, a lot of the cry posts in here are probably from the no lifer's who are but hurt they cant roflstomp the tourny by outgear everyone.

Yeah, we get some event too. Does it matter? Eme's intentions are pretty clear. Everything is rng, chances are a lot of people arent going to get the prize they want. How convenient for eme to put up for sale. Come on, you can't be that dense. This is no different from the swimsuit/glasses event we had. Most people ended up buying the one they wanted because the rates are abysmally low. I certainly didn't get the glasses I wanted back then. Why are the rates so low? Because low rates are fun? No. So you will buy it from the shop. Conflict of interests much?
