Exertim's Post History

I solo 59-60 BAMs as a Sorce all the time. They're not a viable source of crystals, especially since they don't always drop any (and they only drop one when they do). You would have an argument if boxes were still in the game and I could change a crappy crystal I got via said BAMs into something I would actually use.
As soon as you land a Time Gyre (unable to block while they're rooted. They can block the actual cast of Time Gyre, but it's a lockon + instant spell), the fight should end right there. Sleep -> Overchannel -> Celerity -> Fireblast -> Hailstorm and just kite until Time Gyre comes back up again. Punish him if he tries to charge to close distance with a Void Pulse to his face. Lancers don't really do all that much damage so you're probably doing something horrendously wrong if he even breaks through your Mana Barrier.

Also, they can't block Hailstorm. Use that to your advantage when kiting.
100% agreed that this is an issue that needs to be addressed, and hopefully soon. It seems like whoever decided to remove eggs/boxes didn't think of the longterm side effects that it would cause at the higher levels.

Please just remove the Alchemy rewards from eggs if you feel that it makes Alchemy an obsolete tradeskill. You guys pretty much gutted the three main ways players on KTera obtain crystals in one fell swoop (eggs, mischief boxes, and LFD reward boxes); it's no wonder people are having a hard time obtaining useful green crystals.
I only really soloed Kumas and Basilisks pre-celerity so I'm not sure how well you'd do on other stuff before your game changing spell at 48. That being said, there are more than a few BAMs that I definitely would not want to solo as a Sorce (Fangspawns come to mind ASAP). BAM soloing on a Sorce pretty much means you learning their moveset (just like any other class would need to do) and then reacting when you see their pre-animation attack.

The black dragons in Seeliewood for example are excellent for Sorces looking to solo BAMs - their attacks are very predictable and easy to avoid once you get the hang of it. If you see it fly up, you teleport jaunt in (slightly off to the side in case he bodyslams) to avoid its flame breathe and bodyslam. When you see him rearing up for his charge, you sidestep and start casting a Fireblast -> Hailstorm 8-10m ahead of where he currently is, etc.

Other BAMs follow the same concept. For example, for Kumas you ideally want to be within 5m~ at all times; close enough so that his frontal breathe and bombs are of no threat to you and far enough so that his leap won't kill you.

The downside to Sorce BAM soloing is if you get hit even once, you very well might just die or be close to death. Eating a dragon flame breathe leaves me barely alive (if not flat out dead) when I solo them while waiting in the dungeon queue. As a side note, always try to get a sleep off during a BAM's enrage as that's probably the only time you'll ever be in danger of being hit once you memorize a BAM's attack animations.

Bookmarking this since it's relevant to my interests. Hope you keep at it, OP.

Of course we took it as enchanting fodder.

However, having a weapon to enchant to start with would be a little more useful.

Furthermore, you can use any T12 yellow to enchant. I'd prefer to sell the engimatic Baldur drop for 8k gold, and then buy [filtered] golds for 400g a pop for enchanting.

Sounds like someone who doesn't understand basic economics.

Sounds like someones mad seeing as you said BOP then now saying selling for 8K gold. So my guess is yes you did infact NPC it and now ur mad

You're so dumb that it makes my head hurt.
Sorcerers have the same exact skill at 60 on top of making you immune to all damage for its duration (Stoneskin, same cooldown). It fully wipes your threat and drops you from combat (think Vanish from WoW), the only problem is it's on a 5 min cooldown so it's only really useable once per boss fight.

This happens with Sorcerer's Void Pulse too, exact same causes listed in OP (especially the part about being point blank).
For PvE:

Fireblast - All 4
Mana Shield - Energetic, Lingering
Magma Bomb - Persistent
Void Pulse - Energetic
Celerity - Swift
Hailstorm - Energetic, Brilliant

The ones that cost 1 + the ones that are missing are via the Training Ground instance (you may have noticed this quest in your log). They're currently not in the game.

archer single target damage is pretty solid, i have a 57 sorc and a 36 archer and i can already tell that my archer is doing semi-comparable dmg to what my sorc was at that level, which is saying something because sorc is easily top dps in the game. whether archer keeps up with a burst of celerity/hailstorm sorc after 48 is yet to be seen for me.

The problem with Archer is you have to be xxx range to deal effective damage, whereas Sorce can stay at 13-15m without any damage penalty. This is huge on fights like Kaprima or the Scarab boss in Balder's, both of which do wide, sweeping attacks that can potentially 1HKO less sturdy classes. This is especially horrible for Archers since (like Sorcerers) they don't have any invulnerability frames in their backstep/bolt.

And unless Archer somehow changes drastically at end game (I have one at 42, class literally hasn't changed much at all in the past 20 levels), there's no way they're keeping up with a semi competent Sorce at 60 unless they outgear them.

As for the OP, I've never ever seen someone kicked for being a particular class and I pug pretty often for the level 60 dungeons. I didn't even know it was a problem until I came onto these forums and saw complaints from Archers/Zerkers on the matter. Maybe you're just running into random [filtered]s, who knows.

Since we're on the subject of damage, gogo 3man normal mode Balder's (with Sorce being the sole DPS):
