Frederik360's Post History

As many other MMO's it is simple to assume, that at some point we will receive a new class. The question is rather what class it would be? What armor and weapon would it have? And what role would it assume on the battlefield? I think I have seen topics like this before, but they usually get flooded with people who want a stealth class or a role, which is already taken. I get some people would like a stealth class(I say don't add one), but please keep those out of this thread unless you got a suggestion for a non-game/balance breaking mechanic. Otherwise feel free to post your idea of the next class, but don't forget to include it's role, a basic description of it's mechanics or abilities and what weapon and armor it would use.

My thought on this:

The Conjurer
Role: Tank
Weapon: Baton(Like the one from Zelda: Wind Waker)
Armor: Cloth

Description: Unlike the mystic, who summons living beings/spirits the conjurer summons fourth non-moving elements like Thorns or Crystal in the form of walls to protect a area or veils to cover his own body. Each wall or veil have different properties which allow them to defend and even return damage from attacks of different types. This should make for a very reactive tank, who constantly have to be aware of which attacks are hitting him in order to defend in the optimal way. When soloing the conjurer controls the winds to slice his enemies from a distance guiding them with his baton.

Reason: Based on what I have read there seems to be a lack of tanks, which basically allows the lancers to monopolize raids as the tank, thus effectively shutting out berserkers of the party if the lancer so desires(In order to be the only class who can use plate, thus gaining all the plate armor). And since we already have the warrior, who can act as tank I thought it would be fun to complete the trinity and have a cloth wearing tank.

Hope you liked my idea and don't forget to comment and post your idea for the next class in TERA!
To start of I play TERA as a sorcerer using my xbox 360 controller. Shocking! I know, but just never could work my way around the keyboard when you get too many skills.

Besides that, then I was wondering if there was anybody who are playing TERA using the xbox 360 controller, who could help me out. I am currently level 21 and starting to have trouble fitting all the skills, since the only real modifier you have is the LB(You actually have the RB as well, but if you try to modify while pressing a facebutton you are pretty much unable to aim). So does anyone know a good setup that will work for me in late game and perhaps some pvp? Or do you know of a way to change the interact(RT) to a modifier?

Would rather not buy extra software like xpadder, but if someone knows of a menu I haven't discovered, then please tell.

So, I figured that my low fps and general lagging of the game in the past betas was due to shortcomings in my current setup. Yes, I am running this on a Mac Book Pro, but since I am booting in Windows 7 I figured it shouldn't matter so much (it's basically the same hardware right?). Before I go and drop 1.5k on a new system, I wanted to make sure this was really due to a lack in power and not to something I could easily fix in software settings.

My current setup is as follows:

Windows 7 (in dual boot)
2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7 Dual Core
8 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (I'm thinking this could be the problem...)
500 GB hardrive

Thoughts? Does booting on a mac make that much of a difference? To me the hardware seems to be fine. I have read that messing with NVIDIA preferences can sometimes affect game performance.

As have already been said, then the GPU isn't that good. However that shouldn't prohobit you from playing the game. I myself have a Macbook pro from earlier this year, which I plan to use for some light questing, when I am out or by my parents. Just don't expect anything extraordinary in terms of graphics, but you should dtill be in abetter position than me due to a dedicated GPU unlike mine, which has integrated graphics.

As for bootcamp, then don't worry. If you are running windows 7 on it, then it is a windows machine like any other. the only constraints should be the hardware.

Finally I once tried running that test on my mac, which was on the korean website, which determined whether you could play TERA(Recommended and minimum settings) or not. And it said, that I should be able to run TERA according to the recommended settings.
