We all know that lancers make this game go round. It shouldn't be that way but it is. Problem with lancer is they are horrible. To level that is. If you don't have a partner or a group to carry you through the quests they become almost unbearable in the mid 30s. I bet if EME looks at their metrics 90% of lancers are rerolled in the mid 30s. And everyone wonders why this game is dead. No tanks = dead game. Peace

You clearly didn't read my post. It's not ME "crying". It's the sorry [filtered] warrior's who can't tank as well as Lancer who are crying, HENCE THE INCOMING BUFF TO WARS IN UPCOMING PATCH to "make them better because they whine and cry about how much warriors suck at the moment." I'm happy with Lancer and my tanking abilities. I'm just sick to death of hearing about this [filtered].

The main reasons Lancers loose treat is because it's either the boss's personality, or because the party doesn't really need the lancer's treat.

The #1 reason lancers loose threat is from knock down and stuns. A higher level party will be doing significantly more prones and stun sucesses to the boss, and theirfore not only does the lancer not do DPS/shield counter/ (too far) and generally waste blocking motions/ higher DD, but it boils down to (they don't even need a full time tank in those situations)

That doesn't means the lancer is not effective, it just means tactics change. That's when a warrior might be better, but then, a warrior make life miserable for the PT even if they are out powering the boss.

Lancers are still given massive amounts of CC and positioning skills that make life easier for the pt in those trick boss scenerios.

the #2 reason a lancer looses aggo is because the boss behaves like that. That nice burning circle is right on you but the boss is attacking everyone else. Yes it happens it's just like that. Same with BAM sucide tactic that will reset aggro at less then 10%.

a distant 3rd is because DPS are stacking rear/crt/boss crystals that are made super effective by the lancer stone walling more effective when literally a lancer pinned to the wall makes it the greatest thing for dps, because all they see is a giant DPS fest. Though the lancer is having super problems pinned to a wall and not being able to see any real animations due to the clipping, and can only rely on clues to keep hate.

(a side note is that many experiance or perhaps wary lancers hold back certain skills for emergencies. Leash/master for instance produces a lot of threat, but I almost always hold it back unless there is a very familar members on the team. Leash is the last defense in any "oh crap" situations and I rather have a slight lost in threat then have it on CD)

Ya asking any warrior that tries to wall tank is to laugh at you. Lancers though, while they hate it, knows it produces massively high DPS if sustained.

war's have no place theorically in being a main tank, as they are often more oriented to an off tank, but considering the level scaling and animation memorization, they can produce amazing results.

Still, the biggest issues are always usually related to LFD. when you have a under leveled tank and a over leveled DPS, or a over leveled tank and an under leveled DPS, or some weird combinations of the level spread, you get weird results.

ex: an under leveled tank is being hit like a truck, and an over level DPS is just out classing it, but then the healer heals the tank, and then chases the healer, but the DPS even with their threat is still 2nd to healing = a big circle run.

ex2: A over leveled tank is yawning while the under leveled DPS are producing slow results, leading to boss +spawns that would otherwise be an easy hiccup become healer bait, and the tank watching everything crumble around the party except him.

theorically, lancer > war. Realistically crap happens.

Best part of a new game is to actually figure out the dungeon fights. People put time into these fights, it's almost like a puzzle game. Working with other party members and figuring out the the fights rather than just following some guide that someone wrote.

Or... you can be the guy that figured it all out and made the guide ;)

I mean this is the best part of MMOs! It's new and refreshing not something that's been done over and over yet...
