Yep that is the basic rotation.

I did the opposite I started a slayer during open beta got it to 29 but then rolled a archer and a sorc to try them out during head start and got them both to 26-27 then stopped leveling the sorc and now I have been exclusively playing the archer.

Archer is 44 now.

(But I did very much enjoy sorc and slayer just plan to level them after I get archer to 60)

I have been waiting for GW2 (played the first day of the last weekend beta before Tera head start and definitely enjoyed it) but decided to pre-order this (after watching some gameplay vids on Youtube) as something to hold me over till then but now I fully plan to play both.

Both are different enough from each other and both are very fun in their own way.

Also one is P2P and other is F2P after buying it that there is really no reason not to.

They are for items you get through certain achievements. One example is a Halo that you get from an achievement that lets them have a halo above your head. (plus maybe some other ways I don't know about yet).
