I played from Melbourne and I found it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Biggest problem in PvP starts when you fight other Aussies. I'm assuming this due to the double bounce back from australia to the server back to australia.

Yeah I feel what your saying :)
Theres something really rewarding about sitting in front of an elite guy with a small group and trying to work out how you can keep his adds distracted long enough get the main guy down before dying yourself. Sure you die a few times trying to prefect it but thats just part of the process, you know.. actually being involved in it.
I Play an MMO because I become some-what attached to my Characters, as Himeko said, I stopped playing WoW when making a lowbie became about as rewarding as soggy cereal....
Grinding isn't the part I look forward to, its the gratification of overcoming the trials!
Admittedly I'm a bit of a PVP nutter so end game IS good, but theres just something whimsical about leveling for me, they pugs trying to figure out an instance boss, getting stressed over how hard an Elite quest is, THATS an MMO... not 'make char, hit oversized critters, get capped' and then proceed to monotonous replays of dailies to get the best gears....

I Too played Rift and Aion (Awesome MMO) and they are easy to play, thats why i quit them. If im going to trawl for 50+ levels of insane Exp grinds (this isn't against grinds I don't want leveling to be fast) but if I am, I want to ENJOY it, not just a 1,2,3,4,2,3,2,4 rotation.

This is my point exactly XD why cant it be hard and fun? it being time consuming and easy is what makes it boring imo.
I look forward to these dungeons your talking about if they are challenging though :)
bring on the deaths XD

Personally it's more than end game hard modes that I want a challenge from. I know most people wont agree with me but the leveling experience is one of my favorite parts of an mmo. So when it's dulled down to the point where it requires little or no thought I just wonder why it's there at all anymore. I played WoW for a long time and it wasn't until it became stupidly easy I gave up on it once and for all.
I recall reading a post recently from someone who played Jtera. He recounted watching a livestream where someone died 30+ times and started crying from repeated failures in a hardmode dungeon. He said the fastest time to complete was a bit over an hour whereas some took 12 hours plus with many lineup changes if they didn't have the appropriate gear and skill.
Hope its like that...

no love for rangas apparently XD
I didn't personally try to do that but it does suck the option isn't there for those who want it :(

Agreed. In it's current state its far to easy and I only pray it gets harder later.
It's advertised as being challenging and a refreshment from all the other easy mmos out there. So thats what I want to see.

First off I'd just like to say that I tried Tera for the first time on the recent closed Beta after much anticipation and absolutely loved it. It gave me everything I was waiting for along with a few nice bonuses surprises I wasn't expecting. It provided everything except the one thing I was hoping for more than anything else, the challenge. At first I considered this is only the tutorial and you are probably easing people into this new combat mechanic and expected it to pick up later but it never did.
I know the difficulty of an MMO is one of those things that your never going to be able to please everyone with, some like a challenge some don't. So what I personally would like to see is this split over servers. Set up different servers based on difficulty, much like how you pick how hard you want a game to be at the start of many single players games. Its what I think should be done to please everyone without alienating and losing one pool of your players.
