I'm just curious. Will we be able to like play around or just create our character & logout?

You'll design your character's appearance by choosing their race and class. Then you'll be able to name them. You will not be able to log into the world.
They are either selling you a preorder, which you're best off getting from En Mass, Amazon, GameStop, or a similar game retailer, or they are stealing your money.

There is only one beta left, and it's free to everyone. If you already pre-ordered, you'll already have access to everything. If you're on the fence about buying Tera, play in the FREE open beta. If you don't know about it, see details here:

If you don't preorder by Tuesday, you'll miss out on early character creation, which really isn't a big deal. Then you can try the open beta, and if you like it, pre-order and take part in the head start. If you don't like it, you've paid nothing.

Bottom line, like SeraElf said, unless you saw the code from a reputable game retailer, don't do it.
As far as I know, they haven't officially announced the ruleset for pve servers. I've seen some documentation that said no GvG on PVE servers, but I think they are considering changing it.. no idea what they decide, but I hope they allow it.

Again, I've seen documentation saying that the outlaw/pk system will not be on PVE servers, but I haven't seen anything on it in a while.

Arena and battlegrounds are not planned for launch at all I don't think. Last I saw, we can expect at least battlegrounds this summer.

I think they are still trying to get a feel for the PVE servers. My guess is that at launch, there will be 0 pvp (besides deathmatches and duels) on PVE servers, but within a few months, they will start to allow some. I think they are still trying to get a sense for what the community wants...

I call posters like you carebears and CH or HC. Casual Hardcore // Hardcore Casual.

I'm not even going to point out all the flaws in your post and why you are wrong. I'm just going to post this.

DO WE really need a thread each time saying this absolutely crap? So what you tried to get something changed and many people disagreed with you so now you are butthurt? Some of you people play and complain about what you are playing heres a hint Play something else. Changing everything just to suit you or what you think is right isn't fun that's not cool. It's outright stupidity.
ALOT of the changes I hate because I understand the game mechanics. I know exactly what will happen to this game with these changes.

Playershops? Already had a filter so just use it no point in removing.
RNG Boxes? No one put a Axe or great sword to your head you could have simply stopped using them or refused to use them.
Enchanting Downgrades.... Well I don't mind this one so much keep you whiners happy eh?
locking seals.... This really is the game changer that some including myself knows it is. Goodbye Tera... I'm going to abuse this so hard and make each and everyone of you cry and whine while I do it because of how broken it is. Inb4 Nerf or changes.

^ This guy knows everything....

no.. I jest.. he obviously didn't read/understand the OP's post... probably because the OP was talking about him...

Seriously people, no one and nothing is preventing you from gauging your own dps. If it is THAT important to you to know what your dps output is, there is a combat log. Parse it!

The truth about damage meters has absolutely nothing to do with trying to figure out how you yourself are doing. What you want is to measure yourself against other people and figure out how to out-perform them. Care-bear E-peen.

If you really want bragging rights - PvP. and do it well.

^ This.

I've played other games that have external 3rd party applications (freeware) for parsing combat logs and displaying the info all nice and pretty. While somewhat more tedious than having an addon in-game, this solution eliminates all of the cons posted, while allowing the pros for the legitimate min/maxers. If lack of a dps meter is an issue for even 1% of the population, someone will write a parser.

It's in Korea, we ought to get it too.

Looks great, thanks Bilei!

It looks like that's a new patch though.. got me wondering how they handled schedules without a clock for so long.. on second thought, it looks like all of Korea is in the same time zone... :)
There was no clock in-game during CBT5. Is there a plan to implement one at any time? I've never played an MMO that does not have a "server time," so I am curious how people handle scheduling in-game events (raids, pvp, etc.) in these cases. Anyone know if there will be a clock at launch or how events are usually scheduled if not?
The Queen of Argon path is not what is not the big patch before launch, right? It's another patch later on? I ask because if that's happening at launch, I might roll a warrior instead of lancer. The changes seem pretty great.
Good thing we have you to speak up for the western market.....

Taemek on 04/10/2012, 07:42 AM - view
. The XP gain trend is way off and they have taken what they think the western market wants in terms of leveling speed out of context, so while they have tried to cater to people like yourself, people like myself who plan ahead of time and actually plan for time off work which we can't change this close to taking holidays, people who can spend alot of time playing naturally, will always do better then those who cannot, in this example where yourself, uses a time frame of 3 days to maximize thier levels, clearly points that out.

Also might help get your point across if you used a little less rage and a little more punctuation... I (and probably everyone else) have no idea what you are trying to say..
You do know that the less casual-ORIENTED/friendly you make a game, the less people will play it.. the more hardcore it is, the harder it will be for you to find a group to do anything in 6 months. When that happens, you'll quit too.

There needs to be a balance between casual and hardcore. Game companies know that and strive to find that place. Maybe EME will find it...
