I hope they won't wipe the data at all till obt because I'm in all of the beta events (by being in the last alpha) but I haven't pre-ordered yet and probably won't be able to until Thursday of this week.
As far as i'm aware, the PVP rules for PVP servers might change, so I can't really say anything on that front. The game does have dueling like most MMOs, though and I would assume there's some form of guild vs guild pvp in either server ruleset. Also, the last test I was a part of did have an NDA so I couldn't really tell you anything specific about my time with it.

The CBT starting tomorrow will only be running PVE, so I guess you can find out then!

There is indeed no NDA on the CBTs and the OBT. They're suing this time to get the word out about the game and build interest.
Gear items can be enhanced (IE+1, +2, +3 etc) some gear has special abilities that activate at a certain enhancement level, for example a pair of boots might have +3% movement speed at +9, +3 balance at +6 and +1 balance at +3

Weapons and chest armor pieces also have slots for gems. Gems can have a wide variety of effects, from + damage against normal monsters, + damage versus boss monsters, attack speed, critical hit chances, etc etc. Armor upgrades can be anything from reduced damage to more balance.

Some randomly dropped gear will be unidentified. this gear must be identified with a special item to be worn and to uncover what kind of effects are on the gear. higher rarity items need better identification scrolls to be wearable.

I haven't messed with grouping at all, so that will be something someone else will have to answer, but I would assume it's the usual "distribution in order except for items above X quality, which have to be rolled for, while gold is split evenly" that is the standard in most MMOs

Turning P2P off made me go from a 100k download speed to 5mbits. Try that and see if your download connects and speeds up.
the reason for that is connection limits. I bet the tera downloader has a connection limit of 10-20. if a lot of those people had slow upload, you would be downloading sluggishly. turning it off probably just used as many of those connections on official downlaod servers as possible, making your speed faster.
except Microsoft doesn't do themed gamepads. Developers go to Mad Catz for that kind of thing

Ya, if its as big as azeroth, that is a very good thing lol. Most MMOs that have come out after WoW, their world is usually very small compared to azeroth. For example, Rift: The lack of zones triggered a lot of boredom, especially to me. I also hope that TERA has raids planned for a later date, or even better, at release.

En masse has said that Raids aren't currently planned because they want to make the six man dungeons the best they can be first. They'll focus on raids once the smaller dungeons are good.
as far as I've seen from information coming out of the ktera and jtera open betas, the grind isn't very heavy at all. It takes roughly two to three hours to get through the starting zone (and hit level 11 or 12) as a point of contrast, to get through the starting zones in Aion (at NA launch) it took a good 12-13 hours if you went quickly. It's somewhat faster with the later versions of the game in NA, but it's still longer than Tera's
Name reservation hasn't been detailed by En Masse yet, but the rumor is that the reservation will consist of making one character with the client between the open beta and the head start. No official information about a name reservation has been released yet, though.
information from the alphas is under NDA. I'm sure information will start coming out of the current EU beta and next weekend's first NA closed beta, though. Keep an ear to the ground and try asking next weekend.

There's a way to get a beta key for the first beta weekend without paying for IGN prime, just use the free trial and tell it not to autorenew your subscription and you wont' be charged. You'll still be able to grab a tera beta key though, as long as ign doesn't run out.
