Outlaws cannot participate in Deathmatches currently. So if you are perma red, deathmatches are something that you will not be able to enjoy until your infamy is 0. You can't pick up mystic balls when you are Outlawed.

Curious, If im a mystic and I am outlawin it up, can people use my balls?
I dont expect to be good at pvp at low levels on my mystic because I only have 1 CC that breaks on damage and my main damage is a DoT that breaks said CC. It makes kiting much more difficult then it will be when I hit 60 and have 3 more crowd controls.

I got to lvl 16 and cried cuz i wasted 60 bucks.... and I told myself not to buy it but I didnt listen to my self.

yeeep same story. I was so sick of WoW but wanted an MMO. I made it to level 30 something before the paint really peeled off the walls and it became horribly transparent it was WoW with star wars glued on.
Ignore mystic pets, treating them like the mystic has a pet perk will just get you disappointed. Mystics are healers, priests are healers. Mystics just have better buffs and more mobility.

And only roll mystic if you intend on grouping most of the time. Otherwise it is going to take you forever to quest.
Do what most people did after release, drop that sub.

From a non-mystic: Mystics in solo are probably the most boring class. You kill the slowest (and you do so with mostly lock on dots and 1 or 2 other damage spells (metabolic blast or w/e the aoe is called).

In PvP, you don't attack much, you use even less attacks, mainly the dot and slow, which are both lock-on skills and the sleep, which is again a lock on.

If you don't enjoy playing a mystic in PvE it is because the class is in fact very boring. You also don't get to aim much at all. In group PvE it is a little better, but again, you really have very little to do when people are good and hardly ever get hit, maybe dispell every once in a while, shoot off some heals, etc. In group PvP, there's so much more to do, kiting alone takes it out of you, but healing while kiting and dispelling with single target dispells take a lot of effort and attention.

If you do not enjoy a mystic, you should try other classes, because mystic is honestly the most boring PvE class, especially if your group isn't bad and takes almost no damage, and if it is, only sorcs and archers are more boring (just too easy to stay at range and press buttons in PvE).

o.o We're the most boring because we do low DPS as a healer?

I'm confused. :(

And if our "group isn't bad and takes almost no damage" we spam them with mana so that their dps goes up by not having to do white damage.

I do see how Mystics may not be a good fit for some people and, therefore be "boring" to them, but it's not because we have nothing to do!

We are boring solo play because many of our support spells have little effect on ourselves or our thralls. Being alone kind of spell locks us.

So that all the idiotic GW2 fanbois could realize how overhyped their favorite game is and see that TERA is superior, or at the very least leave the rest of us alone to enjoy this game in peace.
GW2 fanboys? where?

All I see here is the same old circling jerking that is apparent in every MMO's home forum. Everyone here is fine with popping on and raving about how terrible GW2 is without going into any detail why it is so while completly ignoring Tera's flaws, like the fact that it screams grindfest with a korean facelift and admittedly much more fun combat. At least its trick is better then SWoTR's "OOOOO WE GOT VOICE ACTING!"

Maybe GW2's combat is overhyped and so on, but I can't say for sure until I play it. But I can say most of the people on this forum can't give an unbiased opinion if their life was riding on it.
Tera has really fun combat, I love BAM, its colorful and has a unique feel with its races which by the way fantastic it has no factions..... buuuut

Trinity system in place with all its terrible flaws, its argueably a step back from WoW which at least has specs, mystics always heal, lancers always tank, no inbetween or variety in what you do or how you do it. Every group still needs utility which few people want to do, you still get stuck waiting around for a healer or tank and can't really progress in group content without them.

Grind grind grind, the quests are some of the most generic quests I've seen in a loooong time. Kill 10 boars, collect 10 boar hides, go talk to Bob at next quest hub, he will tell you to kill 10 raging boars.

Story is meh in my opinion. Distant threat of the argons coupled with rampaging beast people and the like. Just keep clicking "For the Federation!" I don't really feel immersed. I am just going through the motions swatting at monsters that will respawn 15 seconds later.

A lot of the abilities seem poorly thought out on my mystic, why do I have 2 melee ranged AOEs on a ranged support class? Thrall of vengence and thrall of protection feel really weak. Ring of Corruption seems poorly implemented. These spells make me feel as if the developers haven't been playing my class. I just feel like simple changes could have been made to make them more suitable.

The art direction seems to have multiple personality order which tough mean looking Aman standing next to cartoonish popori or the odd Elin with the bodies of a 12 year old girls coupled with a furry fetish or the pegussus transport that looks like something straight out of my little pony. Not really one to rag on art or graphics but these things tend to be difficult for me to take seriously and I know the western market generally agrees with that sentiment.

Gear in pvp: there are stats and level differences that will unbalance pvp, this will leave a sour taste in the mouths of people who prefer fair or even grounded fights.
Speaking of pvp the "I'm too high you can't hit me!" limit is just a tad too small in this game, its like 2 or 3 levels and you become god over someone.

GW2: what I have on it-Interesting established lore, personalized storylines, open world exploration leveling as opposed to set path quest grinds. Content remains challenging even as you level. No trinity dependence so I can play what I want when I want, subscription free. Dynamic world that changes according to succeeding or failing a mission. PvP is equalized regarding gear, people can't just beat me down because they have 20% more resilience on their armor or something. Classes can use different weapons and specs and play different ways.

Particle effects are out of control. Water combat is disorienting and looks like a failed experiment. As far as I know no open world pvp outside of the WvWvW or battlegrounds.

I can't really account for GW2's controls or spells or grouping because I haven't tried that, but so far I will say GW2's story and questing looks like it trumps Teras. PVP of both have their odds and ends. Raiding obviously goes to Tera I think, but exploration is Guild war 2's. I find leveling in Tera to be very grindy and unfun, it reminds me of what I've been doing in WoW and its lesser reincarnations over the years, and it will certainly make getting to 60 feel like a chore but then I am a mystic so this is especially true to me.

I'm glad people like the combat so much but there are some deep rooted flaws to be found in other areas.

What does that even mean?

Its a rage comic face.

Just another thread by Terafanboys trying to prove who's imaginary superhero could beat up the other kid's imaginary superhero while pretending their game is the flawless second coming of MMOs.

Or trolls trolling.

I'm sure both games have pros and cons but I only have personal experience with the good and bad of Tera.

I agree.

The first MMO that I stuck with for any length of time was Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and I loved the crafting in that game. It took FOREVER and you actually had to be dedicated to get anywhere near max crafting. I played that game for almost 2 years straight and only got to level 30 in my craft. Those people who had max crafting (or, even more rarely, multiple maxed crafts) were pretty well known and sought after since it was a pretty rare thing.

Now I craft in games and it's literally just:

Get to max level -> buy a ton of mats -> get to max crafting level with mats

In the last two MMOs I played (Rift and SWtoR) I did exactly that. Got to max level, then used the items I'd collected along the way/bought to boost my crafting all the way to max in a single day.

It's just not really worthwhile anymore.

Rift and SWTOR were basically world of warcraft reskins with the same ideals of accessibility. Vanguard was based off EQ1 and older games where it took ungodly amounts of grind to do things and no one was guaranteed to be top unless they really poured their life into it.

Its two ideologies, games that want people to experience content and games that want to be so difficult that content is bordering mysterious because its so difficult to get to. Accessibility just sells better so that is why it as a model has survived while games like vanguard are quietly going dark.
