JamesX's Post History

This seems an odd topic.

It is not Greedy to want to have your time rewarded.
It is Charitable to give to those in need.

It is not one is -1 the other is +1. It is more along the lines of one is 0 the other is +1.

Everyone put effort into a instance, everyone should have EQUAL chance for reward. If one person wants to give up his chance so another can have them - it makes them charitable. It doens't make the person who wants their JUST reward evil or even greedy. The self-entitlement some display is fairly overblown.

As for the Tank being the leader of the party. While that is common it is hardly always true. And tanks shoudn't always be the one pulling all the mobs. Taunt leaves them open for a second or so. Depending on the number of mobs they can get stagged killed pretty easily. It is better for someone with invulnerability frame to do the pulling, and clumping, so the lancer can then take over aggro. Hell sometimes even the priest in the static can do it better than lancer.

Though I been away for 3 month so things may have changed. Maybe they patched in more invulnerability frame for everyone. But roles should adopt to the sitation. The leader of the party should always be the one who can dish out correct tactics and allow individuals to work as a group. It should never be based on character class. Sometimes as Lancer I can't even have time to type out instructions, so I give the organizational role to the healers. Since they have better view of the whole map - instead of just the tummy of the boss.
No one does Dailies consistently as a group - because everyone gets random ones.

The Cool down for most dungeons are 15 minutes vs 7 minutes

For Queen it will be from 24 to 12 hours.

I doubt most people will do more than once a day even with the 12 hour cool down. Since they will have regular lives. It is highly unlikely Elite vs Non-Elite status will cause any problems on the basis of dungeon cooldowns.
Until they announce the discount rate on Cosmetic items in the shop and/or the attractiveness of the Elite Mount, I am on the side of asking for refund for the 12 month subscription I currently hold. Pretty sure my friends are also going to ask for their year subscription refund as well.

The dungeon cool down rate, raised dailies cap, additional brokerage allowance is not worthwhile for me.
To Fix the UI I believe they need the new developement kit and license from Adobe and possibly need other costs as well. It can get quite expensive. Thus I doubt BHS will think the issue worth the money.
Developers cannot fix player bias and attitude. Only the community can do that.
Wow long thread. Didn't read everything because it seems just the old argument rehashed over and over.

Just wanted to point out that for every 1 person who had 200 failures, there are at least 1 other person who got to +9 with next to no effort.

Friend took 90 MW for her weapon which is pretty bad. Another still haven't gotten it, last I checked he wat 140-ish (at least he claims to be). But I got my gloves in 1 try, and friend got her lance in 8 tries. The thing about random is that it is random. It all evens out in the end.

If Gear is too easy to get, game dies. If Gear is too hard to get game dies - usually slower. To think that the balance is easy to achieve is a great simplification.

To only way to keep people playing when gear is easy to get is to have content. Because without Gear Climb (e.g. too easy to get) all you have left is content. There is no way anyone can release content fast enough. Many have used Rifts as example to how fast content can be brought out - and Rift just recently had major lay off. Not sure if it is related to the development cycle, such as lay off being generally common after a major expansion is done, or it is a symbol of their effort at producing content is costing more than the the revenue they are getting in.

If Content release speed cannot sustain the player base interest then all you will have to mix that in with Gear Climb. You will also have to make it sufficiently difficult so people will take weeks and months to get it. MMO is not something you plan to "I will max my gear in a week" It is more along the lines of Months if not years - at least it should be. Which means if it is no longer a random system it will then become a token system which you will have to work for weeks to get 1 piece of equipment to reasonable high stat. I am not sure anyone will be happier when EVERYONE has to take 4 weeks of grinding dailies to get their weapon to +9, then another month for 10, 2 more month for 11, and 3 more month for 12.

The amount of crap that will be tossed on the forum will make this thread look like a ant hill.

Careful what you wish for.

If flickering meaning that at certain angles the sky would go back and forth between black and the correct texture then it is a driver issue.

I do not have an SLI setup so I have no idea if Tera can use SLI. Try disabling it and see if it goes away.

If by Flicering you mean that weird lines will portrude from various objects in the game and geomatries are distorted then that is most likely a hardware failure. At least the few times it happened to me it was always becauese the cards was bad and a new card fixed it. But it can still be a driver issue so fully explore that possibility before going for a time consuming RMA process.
It doesn't exist. I had to use a +6 Blue lance for that level IIRC. Which I switched out at 38 for the CR Gold Lance.
