Katosu's Post History

Yeah I already hopped onto SL and reported it to Linden Labs.
There is a number of stuff, alot of it comes from Sony.

It has been over a month and they have not even acknowledged the bug, that is not acceptable.

They don't have to acknowledge anything.
Seriously, it is among the stupidest thing to do.

"Oh hey guys, thanks for telling us about this bug a month ago."
There isn't a need, chance are if its been reported, they know about it.

PivotPvP on 03/17/2013, 09:46 AM - view

BG matchmaking was bad before this bug(which was never addressed after 5 months), now it's downright ridiculous.

God forbid bugs occur and that they take time to fix.
People such as yourself don't understand the time it takes to fix these kinds of bugs.

There's also another bug that hasn't even been addressed, Aman are messed up, I always see them in the ground or flying and it makes them hard to target.
Sometimes they just start porting all over the place.

Never saw this, only when I was lagging miserably.
Chance are thats on your end.

There is a lot of stuff like this in that store including the Popori child and a Vulcan.

This isn't a case of the individual making these mesh pets from scratch, they're ripped straight from the game itself.
Is this being allowed? I know a good number of people who play Second Life that would use that mesh for an avatar and buy it. Linden Dollars are converted from actual money after all.\

Edit: Okay I don't know how to imbed images.

To be honest, I think you're an offensive person for thinking they're 'special.' I feel as though the person in that post was attempting to make more of a joke topic, or a satyr - suggesting that the game would merge with World of Warcraft in some way.

but I could be wrong, I do feel there's a disconnect in his writing, but not to the extent that you make it seem. To be fair, perhaps you should re-read it before calling others names.
Aren't all Baraka's arms just that uneven? I noticed it on my Zerker from the starter zone when just standing around.

I do wish there was a way to make both sides happy, but I don't think you'll find it.

There has never been and will never be a problem finding a solution to make both happy. It is called offering both looks, and letting the players themselves choose.

If they did this, everyone would be happy. Instead they did not do this, so that people went behind their backs and modded the game back. Meaning we have the same result for players as if EME had done the right thing, but people are breaking rules and bad mouthing EME.

It is the exact same thing as PvE and PvP servers. They could have done only PvE servers and said "There is no way to make everyone happy", or they could offer you a choice of PvE or PvP servers. The choice alone increases sales drastically.

In some cases there is no way to make everyone happy. For example warrior buffs, where even if you liked the old warrior, it is hard to claim EME should have split it into "Old warrior class" and added "new warrior class" and let people roll one of them. But in surprisingly many, all you need is an option. (Like you don't need easier dungeons, you can add an easy mode)

While plausible, will this fit in line with the sensibilities the developer was putting into the game when they added in the mod on the armor?

The issue is, the only way to change it is to make it similar to a Gore slider, where you would adjust the 'skimpiness' of outfits. And to be fair, to add that in for one race alone is more work than just taking out the mods in teh first place, which is more work than just leaving the mods as they are now.

Now, simply to play devil's advocate for a moment, if they tried to make a 'every armor has 2 sets' deal, people would complain when they get the wrong one they don't like the look of. Even with an outfitter, there are still some items that just don't match your model.

To say people choose, well, if it's represented to others, then someone who feels it offends them would see you running around in an Elin G-String and would feel discomforted by it. So that doesn't work.

The last option is simply changing the .Dat files like a lot of people do. But EME doesn't support this, so it's rougher and possibly could get you banned (have not heard reports of it, but eh - who ever wants to be the first?)

My last concern is on an RP server. This is a minority, however, so not as important - but if everyone sees only what option they select (Skimpy Outfits / Not Skimpy outfits), then it would be harder to roleplay within this universe. All characters would simply have to not make mention of their outfits, which in descriptive writing or in describing a character, is harder than you think.

These are my opinions. I'm glad you are so passionate about this - it's good to have your beliefs. :) But I do still feel, that if we keep in mind the feelings of the developers when they made these changes (That the outfits were too far), then we can see it's not such a simple fix.

Ok. I get it now. I went from being one of the biggest proponents of this game to cancelling my subscription in 1 evening. Got my first 2 enigmatic items running GL.

I mean you no disrespect when I say this, but are you really saying you were a huge supporter of a system you had never used, and now that the system you supported doesn't work, you are angry at the entire game and have quit? I really hope you never called anyone out for disliking the system, because I really am just shaking my head right now.

Part of the issue I feel with the system is it's more balanced for level 60's. Last night, we ran Balder's Temple (level 60 dungoun) and got an Enigma weapon drop. I asked my friend for her weapon, and she traded it to me.

I bought 20 Enigmatic Scrolls, 20 Identification scrolls. At the 18th of each, I got her two 8% speed increases (With one at +6.) We were estatic.

But we didn't stop there. I had a ton of fodder I was saving for my Lancer weapon for if it ever drops from BT. I started enchanting. 125 Alkahest. My friend wound up buying 200 Extra on request (Not that expensive for us.)

We got her weapon to +6 with our combined materials. This was 2 rows of items used as enchant fodder. I traded it to her and she happily equipped it. That alone was great. But then we remembered she currently had a gold weapon on her. I bought her the Refined Alkahest (Hint: It's over 120 gold per try at that point) and she used her old weapon as enchant fodder.

She got +7. It now glows blue, and we're happy has heck with the result.

The enchanting system encourages teamwork. It encourages people to recieve a reward at the end of hard work. Take a note from your lesson from the low-level enchanting and don't try to judge the system until you've had the chance to actually utilize it. I hate that it's so biased about Enchanting pre-60, but it really is fine at 60 in my opinion.

Wow you got lucky and got 1 weapon to +7 in one try, that makes the system perfect. Good for you. You would not have been so happy had you failed to +7 buying Master Alcheist 40 times in a row like what happens to MANY people.

We got lucky on ONE try to get to 7, and you disregard the entirety of my post about how we went through over TWO ROWS (I believe it was closer to the higher end of 3 with hers included) of weapons, and you somehow think we 'got lucky'?

Yes, we got one enchantment to go through and now they're happy. We feel accomplished in it after blowing through SO MANY BLOODY MATS just to try and get +6. Thank you for blowing hot air - but we still felt accomplished in what we completed.

Congratulations, you have completely misread my post, and managed to make yourself look like a- not even going to say it. You know what you did. >=/

As for the one who mentioned lifestyle - I guess I see your point. My friends and I are very close-nit, and a lot of people don't hang around with their online friends as much as we probably do. So I sort of understand where that one's coming - we simply got lucky. :) Thank you for an intelligent point.
Edited by: Katosu 11 months ago - Reason: While bender may approve of adding a 1 and 2 zero's to everything, I probably shouldn't say '70' where I mean '7'... Though a +70 weapon would be hot...
I kind of see it from both sides. A lot of people argue their hips alone mean they don't look like 7-year-olds, but at the same time, I've seen the detractors state that 'one factor does not instantly make it not look like something.'

The best example I ever saw was, 'Do Elves/Castanic not look human because of their Ears/Horns?' - It's a good point. They still have all the human traits, they just have some slight differences. Just like how the Elin may have good hips, but their stature, face, and overall build still makes them appear child-like to many.

For one side to argue with the other about their beliefs on this is really pointless. Censorship tends to come in the form of the most conservative side in this case - the ones who feel they look like kids and shouldn't be running around scantily clad.

My own personal feelings on it? People would just like a higher-quality edit. They feel like the current job is a real slap-on copy/paste color repaint in a lot of cases, and it leaves them highly dissatisfied. It doesn't leave them feeling like the same level of care was put into the mod as it was for the outfits.

I do wish there was a way to make both sides happy, but I don't think you'll find it.

but a lot of them WERE being good people v_v; I don't mind if you don't believe me, but really - like I said, some of the most kind-hearted people I meet come out of the forums, just like the priest today. It was really humbling.
