Kiryiu's Post History

Just adding that i got the same problem, tried every fix proposed in this thread, downloaded manual patch and engine files etc, hell even tried with the old install backup i had from the beta.

Every time i get the error once the patch is 73% applied. (the repair button is also greyed out)

At this point i can but wait for a working patch to be released, thanks to those who proposed solutions in this thread, alas they didn't work for me.

Absolutely not, engines of mischief's only use was selling them to a merchant for gold. Just like gambling in real life, you always lose in the end. And unlike real life, the rewards are too small....so even when you do win, you still lose.

Dude buy a good pair of glasses and start reading proprely.
No one is talking about the white mischief boxes that were mob drops...
We are talking about the VENDOR green box wich allowed for crystal conversion.
If you didn't like them nothing forced you to buy and use them, while the smart people would and get proper crystal setups

As for your other two points i won't even comment on it.

wow. that laundry list makes me glad im not max level becuase they sound pretty game breaking.

with d3 lurking in the shadows, who is going to stick around in a game with such punishing mechanics and design decisions?

i don't see why you can't take some extra step in enchanting to get a guaranteed success, such as - combine your sacrificial item with an "enchantment orb", 2 of which drop from every high level instance boss.

Oh no don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good things too. What i listed here are flaws in the content, every game has them at launch. Question is how quickly are they corrected.
Hihi, my name is Legendary, i play a lvl 60 lancer on the frost reach server.
For the past 5 days or so i have been waddling about in my end game adventures, here is what i have to say :

First off, tera is a great game, i love it. However some things are killing it and it needs to be adjusted, not in 2 months but yesterday.

1. Crystals. The situation is ridiculous, time to admit the mistake EME. The old system was great, crystal supply was abundant and people who didn't know how to use the mischief box
were being supplied by those who did, crystal prices were alright and they served their purpose : death bill.

Now we have a situation where the removal of eggs and mischief box created a wave of players who are simply unequipped. I've had to kick countless people from lvl 60 instances simply because my group of 4 won't carry them if they show up through lfd with poor crystal setups. (that is if they have crystals at all...)
(no, not the worthless mob drop box, that one can be gone, talking about the vendor specific green box wich allowed for crystal conversions.)

Solution : Put the mischief box as a vendor item and the eggs as a quest reward back in. If it works don't break it.

2. Eggs. The eggs were great, it supplied people with crystals but not only that, green scrolls and most importantly, enchanting powders and unglyphs. wich will bring me to point 3 in a bit.
Supposedly these were removed to help alchemists, it does not achieve that purpose and removes an important aspect wich made this game so great. Also, as far as i am concerned alchemy does not make enchanting powders, unglyphs, crystals nor green scrolls.

Solution : Put the eggs back in. If it works don't break it.

3. Enchanting. Oh, how you've been fooled thinking this system would be better than the old one. Vanarch powders are a joke, with average new success rate you are looking at 10k gold worth of powder to get a single +9.
Now you said you made this change because you didn't want people ragequitting after a fail wich resulted in a downgrade, how many do you think will quit when they realize they will never be able to afford enchanting?

Currently, there is no other way to obtain powders than to purchase from a vanarch shop. The old system gave powders through eggs and lfd reward box. People would go about their normal business and gather enough powder to enchant regardless. It just took time doing what they would anyways.
Nobody used something else than the blue sturdy powder to enchant past +6, downgrades were nearly non-existent. Sure you might have had the odd ragequit when one in a thousand downgrades despite using blue powder. Better than the thousands who won't be able to afford this new system of yours.

Solution : Put the egg and lvl 60 lfd reward box in, revert the enchanting system to what it was. If it works don't break it.

4. Crafting. Runes were never intended to be used as a leveling material. They were intended to be used as a reagent to craft actual items. Crafting levels were gotten through the mission board crafting quests.
Best in slot gear comes from crafting yet people are unable to lvl it due to the removal of crafting quests.

Solution : Put the crafting quests back in. If it works don't break it.

5. Green glyphs. I understand you want to make training grounds a lvl 60 shiny instance but that instance was designed to provide lvl 58 players with green glyphs so they could tackle lvl 60 content with decent builds.
Right now it is so obnoxious especially as a lancer to tank any lvl 60 content due to the boss swing timers, i am assuming were designed to work along the casting speed on shout provided by said green glyphs.
I believe this is the same scenario for all the classes. Nobody took that instance seriously to begin with, it was just a lfd box farm and green glyphs market, hell you'd have healers afk in there.

Solution : Put training grounds back in as it was, we need it. If it works don't break it.
If you are that committed to make it lvl 60 content then offer different rewards from it and give us a vendor to purchase green glyphs with some sort of currency available to lvl 58's or just for gold.

6. Repeatable quests for max level characters. These were used as a way to acquire eggs. In the current state of things they are completely worthless. The only thing they do reward is experience wich as you may be aware a max level character has little us of.

Solution : Put the eggs as a quest reward back in. If it works don't break it.

7. Rifts. No just kidding, that's fine we don't have enough people to even make a dent on those bams, implement that when the lvl 60 playerbase is healthy.

I believe that is all i have to say. Once again Tera is a great game but i believe you have made very shortsighted changes to it without thinking of the consequences.
It is great to see you listen to community feedback and make changes, but you got to be smarter about it and realize most of the people complaining about x and y are as shortsighted as the changes themselves.
Hell most of them have yet to experience 58-60 content.

Thank you for reading.
He randomly curses someone but the announcement is bugged off, you need to figure out who is cursed by looking at debuffs, also the person gets a funky looking thing above their head, that person needs to get away from everyone else or he will kill ppl.

Once the debuff runs out there is a slight delay, about 3-4 secs and then an orange circle will appear under that player's feets, wait until it goes off somewhere safe then resume the fight with the rest of the group.

Red orbs give a crit buff, blue orbs give mana (not 100% sure about that).

Mostly just avoid the curse and don't take too much damage from the orbs and the boss will die.

Sorry if this is unclear i'm kind of in a hurry. =)
[EDIT]: False alarm, sorry about that. I restarted the client to clear UI lag and was indeed able to equip the ring. I believe i was just victim of a bug. You can let this thread die.

??

I have spent the day getting my reputation up to revered status with Valsekyr Hunt aswell as collecting the 4000 credits to get one of my rings, after purchase this is the message i get when trying to equip it.

Anyone got a clue why this is happening? I purchased the item, it became soulbound to me, yet it is soulbound to someone else?

yay?

Edited by: Kiryiu about 1 year ago - Reason: False alarm.
Point is, some of us are 60 and we would very much like to get our green glyphs.
Without the instance we can't get them. Without the glyphs some things are near impossible to do.
(ex. Lancer without 25% cast speed on challenging shout.)

We need the instance.

And while they are at it, it would be greatly appreciated if we could get the Mischief green vendor box back too, so we may have some crystals to use other than minion damage and defense.

And if this isn't too much to ask, it would be absolutly fantastic if we could have our eggs back so we may find unglyphs aswell as crystals.

(Don't worry about alchemy, it's broken either way and if it bothers that much then remove pots from lucky/destiny eggs i'm sure no one will minds, we're after them fortune eggs.)

I will even say, please?

>_<
Signed. This change is extremely obnoxious...

And those who say it's fine you can get them easy from bams, i suggest you think before you post, bams drops much more trash crystals than they do proper ones and there is never going to be more crystals than there is now due to people farming CR and stacking BAM quests like their life depended on it.

Green vendor boxes need to be back asap, and also yes give me my eggs back.
The argument that they were removed to help alchemy is flawed, none in their right mind cracked eggs for pots, we made fortune eggs wich do not contain pots.

I feel like i've been robbed of a significant part of the game.
Yes, this is a massive flaw at the moment.
I have had no problem getting all the crystals i needed during the cbts, thanks to these boxes.

Now i've been doing a fair amount of grinding, got 4 rows of crystals in my bank, all useless.
I have found 1 useful crystal and it was off a fortune egg even...

I am guessing there isn't much discussion about this because many players don't know how to gear up crystal-wise so they just equip junk crystals and call it a day.

For those of us who got a clue, the removal of the green vendor boxes is a deadly blow.
I don't see the reason for that either, nothing forced people to use them, they didn't drop so they did not ''waste'' loot table spaces like the white boxes.

Don't want to use them don't buy them. Why were they removed again? They are the only reliable source of good crystals.

If they are not reimplemented soon there is only one decent solution wich is removing crystals from loot tables all togheter and offer them from a vendor. Granted, i prefer to use my trusty boxes and make my own.

The ''rng'' factor on failure wasn't even that high, i'd say out of a good 500~ crystals i've processed through this method, 80% or so came out positive. This is across 10 betas, both EU and NA.

TL,DR: Put the green vendor box back in, they didn't hurt anyone, in fact they did alot of good for many of us.
Hihi, i thought i would leave this here for those interested.
