Syrio Forel. Game of Thrones!

What do we say to death?

Not today.
Question regarding the patch notes, specifically the:

[*]Added two level 60 dungeons: Suryati's Peak and Ascent of Saravash, each with a 6-hour cooldown timer.

These are listed as Lv56 & Lv48 instances, respectively, in the "New Launch Features - New and Better Dungeons" information. I'd like to clarify if their level has been changed to 60? Or are hard mode versions available for these two dungeons (which would make sense with the 6-hr reset timer listed in the patch notes).

Thanks! Excited for tomorrow and beyond!

Can we get a confirmation regarding the instance timers? I believe in K-Tera the LFD cuts them in half (so 12hr -> 6hr for Hardmodes & 4hr -> 2hr for Standard?). If anything can the default instance lockouts be the reduced amounts across the board?
OBT cap @ 32? Sure, that's fine. But Headstart is getting neutered? I'm pretty sure you guys posted somewhere that Headstart was your way of "launching earlier"... launching what? Really disappointed especially considering the dungeon blunder. Badly done EME, badly done.
Wondering how getting Lux'd items will fit into this as I'm not terribly familiar with the system of getting them in the first place.

Otherwise thanks EME for removing the infuriating aspect of enchanting but still keeping it an investment (gold/items & the time required to get them) and keeping the neutral failure so it's not just click enchant, receive upgrade.

I know a few of my friends will be relieved to hear this news.
Only being given half the information regarding these changes really worries me.

I could go either way on leaving or removing the player stores. What matters is right now we've only been shown half the picture and all we're left with is to speculate (80+ pages worth) about if and how we'll retain some of the positive features of the player stores, mainly providing a "buy" feature and the ability to provide goods to locations without brokers (such as those locked down through the political system). We don't even know how the political system is going to work though, so it could all be a mute point. Simply put, we don't know enough!

I implore EnMasse to communicate a clearer, fuller picture when they announce these sort of changes. More reasoning as to why, and what is being done now that something has been implemented (whether it be removal of content or new stuff).

It would do the player base and community a world of good.
I'm glad EME has at least vaguely communicated their intentions but I'm worried because we can't really know the full picture given the very limited scope of information they've given us.

  • Before telling us that you're planning on removing player shops, can you please tell and show us the features you have planned for the auction house/broker so that we can experience the systems in the next CBT and communicate our thoughts about it to you?
  • This goes for ALL CHANGES! Please don't leave us to speculate and worry.

  • From my understanding, in K-Tera, the best gear you can get is BoP, but the lower tier items are BoE. These lower tier items are great for folks who can save up a bit of cash and decently gear up while leaving the best stuff
  • (BoP) as a reward for completing the most difficult content! I think this works plenty well as it was really refreshing in the last couple CBTs to be able to buy a blue BoE upgrade or two off the broker if we were having terrible luck getting the drops (ran SInestral Manor 14 times on the Saturday of CBT2... never saw a slayer weapon!). It also compliments the enchanting system.

  • If you're going to be removing "useless" items, get rid of the bombs. Tweak and adjust the behind the scenes numbers before bringing down the headsman's axe down on the quirky aspects of the game!

I think EME is setting a very dangerous precedent with these changes.
CBT1-3 have been awesome! I'm excited for TERA but at the same time a bit nervous considering recent announcements regarding gutting features without much follow-up from EnMasse clarifying things further.

Here's a handful of my observations and requests.

UI:

  • It's nice that the interface scheme is saved between characters however some elements
  • (namely the large stamina gauge & cooldown icons) revert back to default even after being adjusted.

  • Since the interface "profile" is shared, can we get global keybinding also? I switched to ESDF years ago and although I adjust things for every modern game that defaults w/ WASD controls, it would be nice to have the keybinding shared across characters as this benefits everyone regardless of their preferred control scheme.

  • We need the ability to bind modifier+mouse buttons
  • (shift+MB5, etc). I was surprised to find we couldn't.

Mechanics/Gameplay:

  • An auto-dismount when using an action
  • (combat skill or interacting w/ a gathering node) would be appreciated.

  • An attack towards crosshair option for keyboard+mouse would also be appreciated.

Audio:

  • The NA voice acting leaves much to be desired. I'm sorry to those who put effort into the voice work but quite often it's jarring and lackluster. Can we have a volume slider for NPC voices?

Character Aesthetics:

  • Can we get the color palette expanded for hair color and skin tone? We don't need a dozen slightly different hues of blonde hair or pale skin. Vibrant and exotic colors where appropriate would be fantastic!
  • (Such as red hair variants for humans and high elves, darker more 'ethnic' tones for elves and elin, etc)

  • It's a far stretch at this point to hope for unique hair/horn/tail options for many races before launch but it has been widely requested. Hopefully this is something that can be worked on and integrated in the future?
