Oh well, it's most likely to gear us up faster for the new content when it comes out.
Considering one of the only things keeping people playing is the fact that they need to grind these instances a ton to get their gear, I find that highly unlikely. What i find more likely is that people complained that the HM were too hard.
If you're not going to play it, can you please delete the character so that I can rename back to it? Unfortunately, I lost the name when I transferred from VoT to here, but I'd still love to get it back.
It is public knowledge that EME is using Cisco UCS gear which is pretty much at or near top of the line.
I really wish you people would recognize the following:
When you are in a zone with 5 people fighting one mob, the amount of calculations that have to occur AND the state updates that are sent to the server ARE NOT DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to 200 people fighting one mob. It is -exponential-
Your network connection will bottleneck due to the amount of data of state updates, position, health, attack, amounts, etc. Your CPU and GPU will also be taxed, this is true.
Did they do it perfectly? ofc not. But go to a nexus with 20 people instead of 200, you will be fine.
Should Nexii be instanced? Probably. The expectation of delivering that anytime soon versus improving what BHS has already put dev cycles into, probably low. I'm fine with that.
Does calling out EME as a "bad developer" when they work directly with BHS to not only get the latest patches implemented and continuously address things behind the scenes to improve our gaming get you/us/them anywhere? No.
Ok, so what do you say when the developers state that the event requires a "critical mass" of players to work as intended, then when they release it, and the players are at that "critical mass", the event does not function properly BECAUSE of that "critical mass"?
I actually don't care about the poor server performance for this, since it doesn't affect the outcome of the event. This event requires zero skill to reap the rewards, and it (obviously) requires zero performance.
I am more pissed with the zerg mechanics, but then we already knew that's how it would be before they implemented them.
I think everybody in this thread is rather pathetic save for the handful of people giving constructive views but I just had to reply to this because I don't think you realized you answered your own damn question.
I specifically remember what you're tlaking about because I was there when they had the Main City Faction raids in WoW where it was SO cluttered the servers literally crashed several times. They did upgrade the servers to remedy this but let me ask you, how many -years- did it take them to upgrade their servers taking into account when WoW launched? Don't remember? Doesn't matter because it took YEARS.
Because there was no incentive to raiding a city for YEARS. Nexus is *the only* way to get PvP gear currently in this game. There is no excuse for the horrible server performance.
This has been in release for a month? A couple more if you want to be smarmy and say 'but wat about the betas errrr'. Yeah I'm sure EME has piles and piles of dinero to be dishing out mass server upgrades(I'm sure only a handful of people here even understand what goes into upgrading servers) just a couple months after putting a game out. This on top of all the crap everybody seems to want out of them within 1-3 months timeframe and it's amazing how none of you manage to trip over your own stupidity.
1) It was launched in Korea on January 25, 2011. Same game. So that puts us at almost a year and a half. Hell, they even had the benefit of testing this stuff in Korea before launching it here and they still failed.
2) Upgrading servers is hard? Are you out of your [filtered] gourd? There are people making less than $40k a year that perform migrations daily. It's not hard, but it does cost money.
I'll concur, the nexus is a good but poorly executed idea, which I think with time can be refined to be moderately enjoyed by a large margin of the playerbase if not more. Pretending like berating the company and threatening to 'jump ship' is going to accelerate development is really a child's dream. It's going to take time to make this enjoyable + add the mountain of features everybody wants RIGHT NOW, probably a long time - deal with it men and women.
By the time they fix it Battlegrounds will be out and there will be no need for Nexus, so this point is moot. The fact is, they have a pretty good list of features that people want RIGHT NOW, except they just choose to make it available in Korea and not NA (which they said they would never do).
This needs to be fixed or endgame will end be a very small community as soon as people start getting tired and annoyed of these two systems. Make them simpler, there is no need to make such a hassle for people who have already leveled up to 60. "Don't rush to 60" people say, so I didn't, now I get it, you get there and now you have to focus on is BS like this (and reputation dailys -.-)
thought you were quitting when they kept the cashshop. I took you for a man of action... and now I'm disappointed.
NO ONE IS TELLING YOU TO GET +12, save yourself 10K gold and stay at +9, people were somehow beating BT normal with less than full +6, needing +12 just shows how bad you are.
actually, on second thought, stay out of tera, this isn't a game for you.
first the cashshop ---> end of tera (hasn't happened, but things sure are quiet without Nerelith)
now the enchanting system ---> end of tera (hasn't happened either?)
whats next? ---> F2P or end of tera?
I have never once said I was quitting ;) Just bringing up things I don't like, sorry I don't like to just sit there quietly and just ignore the things I don't like
Then make your own MMO. Problem solved.
Also, MF left the server as well, so it doesn't matter if "people are watching".
