Tbh, at first I didn't mind the "kill X mob's" quests but after awhile, the novelty of the combat system wore off for me. My second character is in her 40s and I can't seem to muster up enough will power to "get back into it." Normally, I'd queue for dungeons and battlegrounds inbetween questing, but I don't have that option here (1 to 2h+ queues as a healer...should've rolled a Lancer). Player killing gives no EXP or any kind of benefit outside of GVG. =\ So, yes, I'm bored out of my mind killing the same recycled NPC's I was killing when I was level 3.
What would make it more interesting for me? Probably public quests / events, battlegrounds (I know they're being added but hopefully they give EXP), EXP for player killing (players your level of course), a better LFG/Dungeon finder system, less "kill x" and "collect x" quests. It'd be fun to stop a town from an invasion or maybe use objects to complete a quest (ie: set out a fire). A few special quests sprinkled into the mix of "grinding" ones would make a world of a difference.
I think Tera's leveling system is the bare minimum and offers nothing special outside of it's combat system. Personally, the only challenge I've come across so far was healing 3 blind melee and a tank who doesn't know where he put his block keybind.
On a side note, I really like grouping for dungeons. But again, my wait time is so long that I'll be lucky to see one (usually someone ends up being afk [who happens to be the group leader], the tank will leave and then it's game over before the dungeon even begins). I'd probably have more fun leveling if I was leveling with a group of friends (who happened to be a tank)....maybe.
