Well last I checked the puritans moved to what is now new england in the early 1600s. So that was 300+ years ago. Its relevance however, has to do with the fact that even though their beliefs seem to be extinct, americans still seem to have this quaint aversion to nudity and sexuality much like the puritans did. Also, if you want to split hairs about it, I dont believe 12/13 was ever considered "adult" in the sense you use that term. For females 12/13 was simply the age they could be married off. They still couldnt own property or handle finances. All they could do was subsistence labor and push out babies. For males they would marry much later and had similar responsibilities as "adults" do today.
That wall of text aside, you didn't answer my main point. Which is, why is it that people are so offended by the likeness of elins and not by the mass murder on which this game is based? Murder is widely regarded as the pinnacle of antisocial behavior. It seems to me that if you are offended by kids in hot pants then you should also be upset with this game's volume of murder that borders on the genocidal...

This is a game about killing innumerable individuals, over and over again, and everyone's biggest worry is that some of the toons look like children. In my mind if you are objecting to that then you should also be objecting to the wanton killing that is the heart of this game...

I went with human females for all the toons I actually play. All of the elf and castanic high end armor was too skimpy and quite trashy for me. I do dig the bikini style of the human females as opposed to the eye patches the other chicks wear...
