Matoya's Post History

I, too, experience that. Or when I use the Volley sometimes I randomly teleport. Don't know if it's just me, but it is only with Volley.
I posted about this ability in another post. I hope this helps: (Firstly, the more critters it hits, the worse its damage. It is best used on one or two targets).

I think Corruption Ring may be misunderstood or not viewed in a bigger picture. For soloing it isn't really great unless you like the graphic. In a group it does wonderful things. Yes, Arun's Tears restore more mana, but they (1) take more mana to make, (2) require someone actively go and pick it up and (3) do not do ANY damage at the same time.

Corruption Ring is not meant to be a mana restore to YOU. The mana restore it offers in a group is basically to recover the cost of the spell. You already have better spells for that. The main restore is for melee party members. They have pitifully low mana pools and a fully charged Infusion Ring will easily restore 30% or more to each one of them (more if you are hitting only one or two party members). It also has the added benefit of doing some damage -- not much, but it is still damage. During the channeling of it, you are also recovering mana (an added plus). It also makes it so that the melee DPS do not have to run out and grab tears as much, so they can focus on keeping up damage as much as possible.

I use it a great deal with much success. I think it could give more mana, but I also think if used properly it can be rather effective as is -- so long as you have a group that grabs the Healing Motes and avoids most damage (which they should be doing).

*edit clarification -- The cost of corruption ring is recuperated by the mana it returns plus the mana passively regenerated during the channel.

You silly MMOers are Carebear in general. PKing another person's character in a video game is nothing. Do some "dice rolling" D&D style where you play for months and years with players slowly devising a scheme to kill and eat (yes, I said eat) all of your party members. Never make the gnome "chef" mad...otherwise you could be on toast.

Then again...it's all in our heads how hardcore we are isn't it?

Do come join us after launch. I would say the members are good people, but I would have to stop myself from giggling. We are, however, "good-at-it" people, if you will.

You'll love the dark and twisted humor. If not, you'll at least enjoy the phat lootz you'll get running with us.

See you there!

Po-Po-Ri

My dialect does not stress any syllable more than the other. I am culturally-attuned used to ending the syllable at the vowel instead of blending into the next consonant. Most people say:

Po-Por-Ree

Which is fine. It is just unnatural for me. :)

After learning Italian and Spanish I can't pronounce Popori any other way than the one listed here. *shrugs*

De-leveling you sounds rather extreme. Was it temporary, or was it permanent? Was it also only when you grouped with them?

It was only while you chose to mentor them: you had to be grouped with them to be able to mentor them. Luckily Tera doesn't seem to have that sort of Karma system. But the de-leveling was the important part of it. Your gear was scaled down to appropriate gear for that level (A rare item at your level was scaled down to a rare item of the level you were at with the same similar stats, et cetera). Was just a nifty way of running around with someone of lower level.
I got Mittens. Mittens the Popori Mystic.

Give it time friend, the game hasn't even begun yet.

Oh, I understand. No rush here. I was just gaging interest. It's a feature I've missed from several of the other most recent MMOs that came out.

And Drake, no, it doesn't make power-leveling easy. I suppose it could, if they made it that way. It's just a way to actually play with friends without actually having to start entire new characters.
One of the things I loved about EQ2 was the mentoring system. I got several people playing because of it alone. If we played at different paces, it wasn't that big of a deal.

In case any do not know the system I am describing:

X has a character that is level 58. X's friend Y has a character that is only level 14. Instead of X having to start a new character entirely to play with Y, X can mentor Y's character. This gives Y's character an small XP bonus and reverts X's character down to Y's character's level (scaling gear accordingly). Then they can play together and are roughly the same danger level.

Any one else's thoughts on this?
