Meddadog's Post History

Thanks nethfel for the links, and for the tips stretch.

Ill just screw with the settings and such till i find something that works well.
Given that the recommended specs are:
2.66ghz core 2 duo
8800 GT
4GB Ram

I'd think that my system....

3.0ghz core 2 quad
Gtx 560ti
8gb DDR3 ram

Would perform decently....

Yet, in argon corpus for example, I'm dropping down to 11fps in boss fights, and get anywhere between 18 and 44 in open world..... And I have the preset set to 3! Not 4,5, or 6... 3!

Shouldnt I be getting better framerates than that, with this system?

Is there a specific iteration of nvidia drivers that work best? Any particular settings tweaks (in game or with nvidia control panel)... Or changing the .ini?

Or is the game just poorly optimized?

Thanks in advance for your responses and help, I greatly appreciate it.
I can't speak for all of CH, but i run with many people from CH who are exceptionally skilled at their class. I do consider myself to be one of the elite warriors who tank out there, and I as stated play on CH. good players and bad players are a mixed bag on every server. TBH when i used to que and get dragonfall peeps more times than not they ended up bad.... so its not limited to CH, its just players in general. CH just has something that sets it apart and makes it easy to group them together. this is especially true post merger
I think that this depends on your skill and your gear to be honest.

If you are undergeared/underskilled, then you may want endurance zyrks in all 4 slots, and 2 threatening cruxes on weapon. the other two on weapon should be mutinous

armor is the same either way, with 4x anarchic the way to go (IMO)

Personally I setup as such:
Zyrks: 2x power 2x crit rate (can go with 4x power if you have, thats just what i have atm)
weapon: 3x mutinous 1x threatening
armor: 4x anarchic

this allows me to contribute extra damage, and I do not suffer much as a result. I have no problems with threat as ToB is spammed off of CD (high RE gen)

If you are just starting to get used to tanking, go with the enduring zyrks and 2x threat, and see if you can transition as you get more experienced

if you fele you are sufficiently skilled then try the max dps build for tanking as highlighted
I have to say, this looks like something headed in the right direction. Coming from RS (yes, laugh) where holiday events are HUGE, and the cosmetic items are the best part, this looks great.

The only way i see this going very bad is if they do the same thing they did with the swimsuits, where you only get them temporarily.
plate and cloth seem to be the HIGHEST drop rates. I rarely see leather, and almost never see the enigmatics. I've run AC 20 times and only seen a single piece of enig leather drop.

ive seen 5 or 6 plate enigs in that 20 run stretch by comparison
the MAIN reason I think RS was put in, was to make warrior DPS partying with warrior tank much more viable (also seen by BC no longer eating edge). As it stood before, warrior brought that extra 11.5% end debuff as main contribution to bring the total dps they brought (their own + what they increased other's dps by), but when in a party with a warrior tank, there was no need as the tank already brought that, so a warrior dps with a warrior tank was gimped some.

By removing BC's edge use, and adding reaping slash, they leveled things back out. Edge gen is ridiculously fast with a warrior tank and a warrior dps, and it gens far faster than the 10s it takes scythe to come back up. This means that warrior dps will be able to hit reap right off of CD, and scythe right off of CD, without having to wait often, if ever, to finish building edge.

If reap works the same from 5 edge as it does with 10, then that is even MORE true.

as only warrior, it can still be of use. With BD glyphed for reset and extra edge, and rob for extra edge, you build it fast if it resets even once. if it resets once, you could start with gen 10 edge for scythe, hit scythe, then have cs > rob > pb > cs which would gen 5 points in roughly 2.5s, hit reap, cs > charge > bd > rf > bd > cs > rob and gen 10 edge in roughly 6s.... so 8.5s betwene the two, add in reap's anim time, and at most you are looking at a full 10s, right on time for scythe to come off of CD.

now, it would not be an all the time hit, as you would need BD to reset, and obviously theres a 60% chance it will not, but if it does work out that it resets, then you ARE increasing your dps output, bc it hits harder than other skills besides scythe, and you are still able to hit scythe whenever it comes off of CD.

as to edge gen and being reduced to 6s? I have yet to have a problem with that, and I am a tank. dps should have no issues at all, and as to going 'suicidal' to hit it? the few times ive gone dps, ive just been overwhelmed with how ridiculously much unused evasion is available. for an attack thats coming right away, a roll out and behind and followed by a scythe solves that, for one coming in a few seconds, a scythe then a roll out solves that, so I see no reason you need to go 'suicidal' to get it off, or lose your edge stack.

It goes both ways vewdo, if you have a party of 4, often finding a solo querer takes a long time.

but then again, solo you need 4 more ppl

but solo, you can fit into any combination of people pretty much, where grouped you cannot

i think it really depends on general party makeup
Ques have lengthened considerably.

I qued with myself (tank), and a healer yesterday, and you would think insta que, but was 15-20 minutes. then the guy dropped bc of warrior tank and mystic, went to reque, got same guy. that says only one dps was queing for AC NM.....

prolly a combo of ppl getting stuck up over classes or GS, and ppl doing BGs.

(btw, finished it no problem, so slayer just basically wasted time he could have been using to finish dungeon)
IME as a tank...

First class i look for when adding to a friends list for regular runs.... priest (PUG healers can be quite a pain)

mystics..... there are a very few good ones.... and ill look for those, but it seems it is a LOT harder t o be a mystic...

as to dps?

I absolutely love sorcs. sorcs are my first choice when looking for dps.

i would say i next look for zerkers

then ill look for a warrior

then slayer or archer

tanks, ofc, are always needed. lancer is preferred, but if u put in the time and effort for warrior, you can be just as good as a lancer, and better in some areas
