That's why it's a community matter and it should be left alone by the mods in cases like this. If the info is false, the community will usually oust it relatively fast through multiple testimonials; likewise, if the info is true, the community will confirm it through multiple testimonials. Hiding the names does nothing but give the scammers more time to continue doing what they're already doing.
The point is, when someone is posting how "so and so is a shady player", that may be not a genuine warning, but just lying about the person out of spite or for the lulz. And that does do harm.
