I'm just posting to ask what on earth an "LFD" is.
How many of these are just things that were added in patches from K-Tera being marketed as new changes, vs. things that actually are new changes? I ask, because Western companies deciding to "improve" Asian games they bring over, rather than just localize them has a bit of a track record for not working well. Among others, it's brought us the tedious combat in Thousand Arms, the broken ammunition system in Silhouette Mirage, the lack of money in the original US release of Persona, the MP save system in Lunar...
And that's just talking about game mechanics. The results of more pervasive Westernization have also been poor, resulting in things like the half-assed effort to portray Disaster Report as having nothing to do with Japan, the hack job of a translation for the original release of Persona, the downright goofy translation for Clock Tower: Ghost Head as Clock Tower 2: The Struggle Within...

The rest of your post was the tired and offensive "You're all pedos for complaning about badly-done censorship" bit... but this is unique in the fact that it's outright wrong. Such material is not actually illegal in the US -- they've tried several times, but the Supreme Court has always ruled that it's protected speech unless it involves or has the pretense of involving actual children.
So-called "Simulated child pornography" is illegal in Canada, but the uncensored Elin armors don't even come CLOSE to qualifying as simulated child pornography under Canadian law. Hell, Hyperdinension Neptunia Mk. 2 has even skimpier outfits for little girls, and it's perfectly acceptable for sale in Canada.
it (Child porn, loli's, any variation, however you may defend it as 'they is not real gurlz') is illegal here.

On a random note, I'm amused by the censorship of the third sample robe/cloth armor for the Elin, as the censored version is several times more sexual than the original. The original had a mere bare midriff. The censored version has shiny skin-tight silk and navel jewelry.
So... why would they change this? The new version doesn't exactly scream "Western"... or... well, anything. It's a remarkably petty, pointless change to make.
Yeah, but that's the US lore, and I'm asking whether said lore differs from the KO/JP lore.
I've heard some references to the Elin and Popori being the same race in the KO/JP versions, but I'm not clear if they were actually the same race lore-wise in those versions, or just mechanically?

Gee, maybe because this is the forum for Tera Online, not for other games that have been censored? I don't like censorship in any game. I don't like that Yakuza 3 dropped several long-standing series elements in a desperate attempt to be more "Western." I don't like the extensive censorship in the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. I even don't like the censorship of The Witcher, as stupid as those freaking cards are. But none of that is on topic here.

If his tactic is crossing his eyes until you look like the big bad wolf, your tactic is crossing your eyes until everyone looks like lolicons. Also, many of the bottoms are clearly bikini bottoms, rather than panties, but never mind that.

Or they could actually care about those other changes as well, except that doesn't fit your narrative that they aren't really concerned with censorship or Westernization, so you have to pretend they're bandwagoning to disguise their panty lust. I think closing the pet shop is a bad idea. I'm not so sure on the private shops, because those can get annoying and lag-inducing, but removing pets just seems like a bad idea all around, since it's outright cutting content that was supposed to be in the game.

Or it could, you know, be because it actually looks so bad. You nave nothing more than your own word that they're hiding nefarious ulterior motives for wanting the censorship to be a bit less ugly and half-assed and gltichy. And I'm pretty damn sure you can't read minds.

Once again, you discard the possibility that they actually care about censorship when it doesn't fit your narrative, without any evidence.

Except that we have only your word that they aren't arguing for what they want for the real reason they want it, and again, you're not a mind reader.

Or maybe "If we convince EME they look terrible -- which they do, incidentally -- maybe they'll at least replace them with things that actually match the armors they go with and don't have absurd clipping issues."
Once again, it's your word and your word alone that absolutely all of this was about "pantsu." Personally? I actually liked the idea of giving them shorts when I thought that was the decision of the creators. Skimpy armor and gratuitous panty shots are way too common. However, when I found out it was, censorship, glitchy, and not done nearly as well as my first impression indicated, that's when I got pissed.

a) You already established that such fans don't exist. According to you, every argument against the armor's quality is secretly because they want to see skimpier loli outfits. You can't have it both ways.
b) Complaining about the quality or existence of the censorship does not affect BHS' or EME's ability to fix the dye glitches. It doesn't matter if literally every topic on the forum was about those issues. What's going on in the forums has no bearing on their ability to fix a bug that's been reported and even explained as to the cause.
Embersky on 04/04/2012, 10:50 AMBut that really is what I think the major issue is with people who are complaining. The armor isn't really that big of an issue, but that people overreact and try to control people by censoring everything. I honestly think Destain and the other people railing against the Elin community don't get. People are upset at being told what they can and cannot see all due to someone else's decision as to what they deem as appropriate regardless of the means as long as it justifies their ends.
And yet, the same people who whine incessantly about the censorship aren't complaining at all about censorship in any OTHER games (our German poster excluded because he's ACTUALLY felt the sting of it).

Which brings us back to the TRUE motive of nearly all of the elin complaints: pantsu.
If his tactic is crossing his eyes until you look like the big bad wolf, your tactic is crossing your eyes until everyone looks like lolicons. Also, many of the bottoms are clearly bikini bottoms, rather than panties, but never mind that.

-Elin fans who bandwagon about other changes EME made that people have issue with because they're upset over losing their pantsu.

It's like how the senate loves to staple unpopular bills onto popular bills to get them ratified. It's disgusting. If you can't argue for what you ACTUALLY want for the REAL reasons you want it, then you shouldn't be allowed to have it.

"If we convince EME that the censored armors look terrible, they'll have no choice but to uncensor them! And should that fail, I'll troll every thread I can and to spite EME for taking away my precious pantsu!"

I feel horrible for the elin fans who understand the censoring but would like to see the armor dye issue fixed: thanks to the circus I mentioned earlier, it's NEVER gonna happen at this rate. :(

No, but you're in the distinct minority. They do have problems because they're photo shops, not true model edits, but... yeah.
Also, am I the only one that thinks the "What it could have been" examples are completely hideous?

Despite the issues with the armor, I'm probably going to be Elin. Not sure what class yet.
