Pepperzine's Post History

To start, leiloni you can put it all in one post instead of triple posting, you can quote multiple people in one post as to not clog the thread. Secondly, this is the last time I'm responding to you because you obviously do not understand and aren't going to understand. That being said:

Healer's in other games don't have healers that can heal people from 0 to full HP in one heal in a game where they can avoid nearly every hit anyway.

If they were to change all the classes to have two roles why would they not change the amount healers heal and the mana they cost? Exactly, they would, you are just being stubborn and trying to find reasons now to be against it. The point is, this is hypothetical situation this thread is discussing, not reality.

Lol I get what you're saying. But it makes no sense. If you have a support role separate from the healers, than your Mystics and Priests are going to sit around watching tv and eating dinner while they kind of sort of play the game.

I didn't realize that healers in all the other mmorpgs out there that have support classes just "sit around watching tv and eating dinner".

You misread what I meant Leiloni, when I said it's not necessary I was talking about the 4th role and adding a support class....that the priests and healers do already do both heal and support. I was saying separating the two into two different roles instead of 1 would be fun and that it would change up the dynamic of the game. Nothing more, nothing less lol

Providing support is already a huge part of what Priest's and Mystics do, and a small part of what tanks do as well. It baffles and saddens me that we have a thread full of people here that don't understand that support is already an important part of this game. What kind of healers and tanks are you all playing with?

The issue isn't the lack of support already in the game that's being discussed here, no one is saying that. I agree mystics and priests provide support on top of the healing they already do, slayers do already have some crowd control and debuffs, but what I was attempting at getting at was a role whose sole focus was that.

For example, in the case of a priest, it can heal and supplies some support with buffs. If there was a support role the major emphasis of a priest playing a support build would be assisting others regenerate mana, they'd have more buffs (likely buffs that only last 1 minute or so, that way they'd need to re-applied and require constant attention and mana) then they currently do, they'd still be able to heal but the heals wouldn't be as strong as they'd be meant to support the healer not be the healer, while a priest with a healer build heals would heal a lot more, and they wouldn't have/ be focusing on re-applying the buffs and other players mana but solely on keeping everyone up.

I'm not trying to say it's necessary, I'm trying to say it would be fun to have some support focused classes and that it'd really change up the dynamic of the game and party/raid structures.

I find myself constantly thinking about how different people's playstyle and dungeon/battlegrounds in TERA would be if all the classes had multiple roles like the warrior class does. I realize they aren't going to do this and don't expect them to lol, but just thought would be cool to see what people would think if they did and how it would affect their own playstyle.

It would likely require a 4th role to be implemented, support, which would focus on mana regeneration, crowd control, buffs, and debuffs. This is how I think it would be laid out

Lancer - Tank/DPS
Warrior - DPS/Tank
Zerker - DPS/Tank
Slayer - DPS/Support (emphasis on CC and Debuffs)
Archer - DPS/Support (emphasis on CC and Debuffs)
Sorcerer - DPS/Support (emphasis on CC and Debuffs)
Mystic - Heals/Support
Priest - Heals/Support

I see where the OP is coming from. We spend countless hours to get something, only to see the exact same ting in the Cash Shop a few days later. Ok we got it free by spending our time doing an event, but as the OP said the event items should have something that differentiates them from the Cash Shop ones. Nothing to fancy, maybe a speed increase for the mounts, or like the OP says something added to the event items that lets others know that we spent our time to get it.

Exactly I don't understand what anyone can see as wrong about that.

People have been saying they have been working on gamecards since launch. It's best not to get your hopes for it coming out anytime soon.
Does winning a unicorn from an RNG box make you earn it anymore than RNG lottery? You could argue you spent more money for a better chance, but that comes down to your own stupidity and desires. Someone could get it in one try with the boxes while you can try endless and never get it. But that's alright though right? Cause they earned it......

You know what would be better than that? a web/mobile app that tells you all that about your chars AND lets you log in to chat on global/guild chat/whisper.

sounds a lot more complicated to produce then what is being suggested here though, plus they'd prolly end up charging you for it whereas the original suggestion would be free and remotely easy to implement

not sure what theme we are bound to when the "lore" of the game is that the world is dreamed up by a god & goddess

how many 'traditional' 'fantasy' type costumes can they come up with? would get sooo boring.

Tera is the first game I've played that takes these ridiculous things and makes them look really consistent, if you ask me. Normally I hate MMOs where people are running around using candy canes or flowers as weapons, but in tera I really don't mind fighting BAMs in a swimsuit.

They can come up with a countless number of traditional fantasy type costumes....It's not that hard to come up with a new design for an item that isn't currently in the game but also makes sense in the setting (the surroundings, environment, and time era) ......It's also not very difficult to make unique gear using traditional fantasy style/theme................

I'd also have to disagree with them looking consistent, when you see a player in a swim suit fighting a bam it just looks weird, like really weird. Especially if it's lets say a lancer tanking for you in a dungeon, it looks like he is mitigating that damage from the boss in his boxer briefs where as his healer looks more protected by his cloth gear and is one shot killed by the boss. Since this is the case, they should allow people to template gear that isn't the material of their classes gear. As in, if a lancer can tank in boxer briefs why can't a zerker template his gear to a leather or cloth style or a slayer template his gear to metal or cloth?

I'm sure in the end it doesn't matter though because apparently people are buying them so en masse would have no reason not to just ignore the setting in pursuit of profit.
