You can buy the Outlaw Declaration and brand new players to TERA get free 7-day character Nightmare mounts. Good point about the inventory space, though.

Agreed.
"Those who have the means get all the pretty things."
Who would have thought there would be a 5 page thread about wanting something nice but not having the money to afford it?! Bizarre! As if we don't all do this, probably every day, in our real lives...
omg and here I was thinking everyone wasn't suppose to be able to afford everything in life *sigh*. You know ... In rl I would love to be able to wear Louboutin pumps but those cost $800-$1000 dollars ... a pair! So sadly ... I don't own a pair. Maybe one day I'll find a rich boyfriend and he'll buy me a pair but until then ... I'll just keep buying my shoes at Nordstrom's. This game is no different. Affordability is subjective and varies from person to person. I'm pretty sure people would still have a problem with it if the mount was $20 dollars. Everybody is not supposed to be able to afford everything. Mounts are cosmetic. In other words, I'd also love to be driving around in a lamborgini (sp), but I can't afford it so I drive around in my Toyota instead. It still gets me from point A to point B, I'd just feel better about myself if I got to point A in the Lamborgini ... but it's not necessary. It would just be a "luxury."

Sorcerer.
Because fire.

There is more than one behavioral study done on MMORPGs showing that games which allow constant global communication have drastically less friendly communities than games that don't.
As far as people being out to "get" you, scam you, mislead you... this has existed in every MMO from Ultima Online to WoW to GW2 and will continue to happen in games yet released.
Talking on global chat yields far different responses from communicating with people in area chat, say chat, and obviously guild chat.
Advice: Join a social guild. It'll make learning and playing this lovely game WAY more enjoyable.

Thanks for the reply, Knoxxer! Glad to hear EME is considering all options.
I'm a founder but I can understand the frustrations with the queue times and lag that is affecting our new players. I, for one, would not like to see them turned away with a bitter taste for this game. I want them happy and invite more friends. So I can kill them, and stuff.
Is EME considering the possibility of launching additional servers? If not, what IS EME doing to help the players with their frustrations?

Sometimes it is noticeably slow. Like... "WTF is going on?" kind of slow...
TBH, for me... it clear up after a few hours of gaming. Call it lag, call it whatever, but this morning when I was helping a friend with some BAMs in ZF my attacks seemed slow and sluggish.
Just now finished a FoK run where everything was quick and snappy, like always.
*shrug*

I've got to agree with the OP.
As someone who shares the same struggles and questions, genuinely feeling like I'm causing more fail than success trying to constantly position behind the boss only to be rewarded with it's aggro...
...while simultaneously feeling "This doesn't make sense." and "Maybe I'm just not understanding fully."
I gotta to with the above theory...
Or... someone needs to take us to school.

So... the OP, his friend, and their guild get robbed by someone they (for whatever reason) thought they could trust...
He then comes to the FV forums to warn others of the particular person because hes angry (which he and his guild have every right to be) and perhaps genuinely wants to help other guilds by giving a heads-up...
He backs up his claim with proof...
Then, hes told his GM friend is an imbecile, moron, idiot, etc...
Fantastic community.
Guess it isn't dramatic enough to say, "That sucks, dude. Gotta be careful. Thanks for lettin' us know."

Sometimes I love my archer. Well, most of the time.
Then I'll get merc'd by someone in a fair fight, and blame it on the archer class.
But its not right. I just have more to learn.
Always more to learn.
