Will the old servers be wiped or merely merged into the new forum? Hoping for the former, since the latter would be an awful mess. Might as well start clean

As far as I can tell, they were trying to make it match with Celestial hills in some sort of hill/mountain area theme.
Needless to say... it's CH's fault... I joke. :P
1 month and all they could come up with was Tempest Reach? so lame...

and hopefully they give each server a guild hall sub-forum, since there's only going to be three and with a higher population and possible events/community discussions aren't intermingled with guild's trying to keep their recruitment topics from falling to the next page.

Honestly, if he can't get past this, this game wasn't for him to begin with. That's the whole damn selling point of the game and asking for it to change is like asking a hotdog to be a hamburger.
As for the "bugs" I'm not aware of any personally. Also, it's been said that some things are going down for the merge, so it's good to keep up on things like that if you plan on giving a friend a good first impression. Part of this is failing to do so on your part and partly on your friend for playing a game for a few minutes and dropping it so easily. He'll never be happy with most mmo's if that's how quickly he judges one.

Sorcerer, zerker, and slayer have no reason not to group mobs up, if they can group them in decent time. A combination of cooldowns and the fact that if you don't at least group up 2 to 4 mobs and aoe them down, you're actually doing a lot less damage in the long run and going much slower since a few of our abilities/glyphs increase damage when hitting multiple targets.
For an example, my fireblast could be hitting one mob for 100k or two mobs for 70k or three mobs for 60k. Not to mention cooldowns.
Other classes are better off going single mob, because they lack these abilities. It'll actually slow them down. They'll have to deal with the stamina drain from getting hit and slowly regening health as well as the possibility of getting knocked down and wasting time.
I've seen archers gather kill as well, just not to the extent of which it can benefit these classes.

eh... from what I've come to expect of NCsoft, I sense it'll be overhyped and not live up even halfway to the hype.
Anyway you cut it, it'll come down to the combat to me. It has to at least compete with Tera's for me to take a serious look at it. I will try to beta it, if I can.

pretty sure these slew of nerf threads are a tongue in cheek response to the archer nerf thread, so I wouldn't take it seriously. While any decent sorc won't dispute that we have our place, they also can't dispute that a smart player can easily counter/kill/lock-down a sorc as any class.
LMAO at lowering our defense, you aparently have never played a Sorc in BG's. Yes we have mana barrier which can be glyphed for duration/endurance but other than that I have to kite around just like all clothies...or should I say mytics, since priest have a buff to defense.
And if we are one hit nuking you, get some pvp gear and as far as roots and sleeps, trust me that they are not that long..nothing compared to priest or archer stuns and sleeps.
