Stop trying to get a full charge off. There are many mobs that have moves that ignore collision detection, but that is only during certain moves. If you want to use a full charge, open with it or use your aoe. That way if they get behind you, you can still hit them with most of the hits. Anticipate movements and if you have the let the charge go early to guarantee a hit, then just do it. Something is better than nothing.
Aside from that, it is all just situation awareness. You need to be able to predict their movements and position yourself accordingly. This especially important for berserkers because they have such long wind up times.
This thread is so full of, and reaks of FAIL - it makes me want to puke.
"Optimally, you'd get drops automatically based on participation and not have to compete against other players in party for them"
My God no! Trophies for everyone who plays? Just because you played? So so stupid.
"This is completely true. You can't have one main tanking class, period. No offense to warriors, I know they can tank, I won't get into it, but Warrior tanking requires much higher skill to play and being as you cannot always assume any particular party member to have that, the general proclivity of most people is to go for Lancers."
More FAIL.
I have yet to see a Boss with an Enrage timer that must be met, or you cannot complete the instance.
What does that mean? It means you can stack any 5 classes you want and go into an instance and attempt it, and not be limited by a game mechanic that requires a TANK.
Nothing in this game REQUIRES a tank.
Everything REQUIRES you to be aware, avoid damage.
I 4 manned GL and AH at 50 - with a Slayer, Archer, Berserker. Start to finish. No wipes.
Get better at the game before you start asking for changes to the mechanics which make it great.
I NEVER have to wait for a Tank again. Why? Because I know I can complete all of the content without one so far. I am a level 53 Mystic.
I wholeheartedly agree. There is this misconception that you NEED a tank. Well you don't, not if you are good enough. The problem is that the vast majority of people aren't good enough so they need the tank to cover them. Certainly with a tank, things are easier, but that is not to say you can't do it w/o one.
In fact I was really hoping this game would just do away with tanks and healers entirely, much like Monster Hunter. Coming from MH myself, everything in this game is fairly easy and forgiving. I am still somewhat disappointed int hat regard. The only issue there is, this has very limited mass appeal and you kinda need that to be financial success.
Just dont be a crappy Lancer. Its not fun when you wait 30-90 min for a scrub of a Lancer that wipes the group in three pulls then mysteriously goes offline or quits.
Yep this has happened to be from way back since Secret Base's first boss.
I was playing with my build last night and I removed the 25% power glyph from Vampiric Blow. I then proceeded to continue soloing the same BAMs as before. I was the same level using the same level of the skill and it appeared to heal for the same amount. Only the damage output was lower.
I think the glyph only increases the damage output and not the healing? Maybe further testing might be needed.
