Posted 3 days ago in Game Guide: Glyphs

Glyphs modify your skills to optimize them for the role you intend to fill. In a nutshell, glyphs are like crystals for your skills. Just like crystals help emphasize certain strengths or boost certain abilities in your equipment, glyphs hone certain aspects of your skills so you can get the most out of them. A keen understanding of how you want to play will help you glyph for success in TERA.

Commander Seir will put you on the path for your first glyph by giving you the quest "Uncovering Glyphs" at level 20. Completing that quest earns you a class-appropriate glyph to start you on your journey. After that, you'll buy the rest from the appropriate glyphmaster for your class in Velika, Allemantheia, or Kaiator. You'll want to complete this quest before you purchase any other glyphs to avoid buying something you could have earned.

Playing TERA with a party is great fun, and while the cross-server instance matching system is an excellent tool for quick dungeon runs, our game has so much more to offer!

Maybe you want to find a party to tackle a particularly tough world boss. Maybe you have a guild of slayers and warriors, and just want a mystic for some adventuring fun with your friends. Maybe you're tired of waiting in a queue for the "perfect" party, and feel like tackling a dungeon with only three or four players. There are a great number of party combinations in TERA, and there is a built-in way to get exactly the one you want.

Posted 8 days ago in Revolutionary TERA Reaps Rave Reviews

Only one week after launch, TERA is already receiving acclaim from reviewers. Our action combat system is truly revolutionary and it's showing. Here is just a sampling of what people are saying.

Jonathan Deesing from G4TV.com says, "…in TERA, I found an MMO that will hold my attention long after I reach the level cap. The unique combat system, variety of classes and frequent huge bosses all make for a game with not only lasting appeal, but appeal to gamers that may not be traditional MMO fans." Adam Biessener from Gameinformer.com agrees, "I have no problem crowning TERA's combat system as the best I've ever come across in an MMO."

Tycho over at Penny Arcade makes the observation, "I'll tell you what TERA does do: it makes you ask hard questions of every other Massively Multiplayer experience."

Andrew Hayward from GamesRadar.com chimes in about TERA's visuals: " What immediately struck us about this fantasy-themed RPG was its fabulous Unreal Engine 3-provided visuals, which stand in stark contrast to the usual lo-fi characters and environments used by many online games to scale well across systems, though it's not the only standout feature from our early time with the game."

Our dungeons and bosses are definitely unique, as William Murphy points out over at MMORPG.com: " Dungeons – Easily my favorite part of the game so far, thanks to the exceptional Dungeon Finder (yes, I'm a Lancer so it works quickly for me). I've only dabbled in the Bastion of Lok so far, but if the bosses and fights in this first dungeon are anything to go by I think the good ol' dungeon crawl will be one of TERA's highlights."

If your interest has been piqued, check out the in-depth article on how we created TERA's unique action combat system and evolved MMORPG combat in this month's issue of Game Developer Magazine. GDC Mag sums it up best: "If your MMORPG's players are spending more time staring at cooldown meters than the monsters they're fighting, you're doing it wrong. Bluehole Studio's Seungmo Koo explains how they pulled off TERA's truly real-time 'free-targeting' combat system without breaking their servers."

This is just a small glimpse at what people have been saying. Keep your eyes peeled for more news and reviews. We'll be sure to share more articles with you as reviewers continue to play and praise TERA!

The mtce has seemed to reset GvG scores. Can this be confirmed? Is there a way to get them back?

Definitely make a thread about this issue.

Posted 14 days ago in Game Guide: Guilds

A guild is in essence a large group of people who have banded together to play, but are also working towards a larger goal. Being part of a guild is not only an easy way to keep track of your friends and have a pool of people you know to play with, but guilds also play an integral part in TERA's political system.

Forming a guild is fairly simple. The minimum requirements are two people in a group, a party leader who is at least level eight and has 30 silver in inventory. The party leader should speak to the Guild Manager NPC in Velika, located in the southeast corner of the Plaza of the Huntress. The party leader will choose the guild's name, and become its first guildmaster.
