Archer skills have zero aim assist. Yes if you release any attack while you're crosshairs are on them it will follow. But let me be clear you have to be johhny [filtered] spot on with you're shots. Distant blade, any window licker can be pointed in the general direction and spam it. Also it does knock me down quite a bit. Are slayers op, no. Slayers have an extremely small skill gap as it's extremely easy to play but you can only be so good. Archers on the other hand have a HUGE skill gap. If you cant [filtered]in aim/think reroll, but if you can they are very effective. Only thing I would like as an archer is more balance. Or take the knockdown effect off distant blade :P. As for "consistantly 60-80k critting people" Well thing is we have to be below 50% health and hit you in the back. So it dosent happen as much as you think. Normal crits are 30k + or - a few k.
Once again I'll attempt to show the derps and trolls how they're wrong. My argument: Slayers are not OP, they are one of the easiest classes to be good with, but they are not OP.
Derp: solo dps Kaprima in HM before he does wrath. I do this while using only T12 gears.
- BS. Very obvious BS.
Derp: His ranged attack did nearly as much damage as my fully charged Radiant Shot and almost every time, it knocked me down
- His Distant Blade...did almost as much as your skill that many Archers 1shot with...? BS again. You must have some crappy balance too, because while distant blade does have a chance to knockdown, it's not a high chance.
Derp: What's even more ridiculous is that it is like a homing missile. As long as his crosshair was on me when he clicked the skill, it would follow me and hit me.
- You mean like most ranged attacks? Why aren't you complaining about your poison arrow? Maybe Priests' triple nemesis? The problem you have there is with a game mechanic, it's not specific to Slayers.
Derp: I think the worst part is that it requires such precise aiming and timing as an archer, but with classes like slayers, warriors, and sorcerers, there's not much aiming required.
- Does distant blade not require aiming? Does setting up a knockdown strike as you're standing up not require timing? That's a nice super-sized reticle you've got there, by the way.
Derp: I would understand if our charge skills were just much more powerful than all other classes, but that's not the case here.
- Archers consistently 1shot people with 60-80k+ crits. Tell me again how your charge skills aren't powerful.
Now, as to why it's unfair that Slayers are constantly picked on as the one OP class, let's look at some of the crap that every class does:
Slayer: Knockdown, knockdown, knockdown, 70% of your HP is gone before you can stand up OR oh nos I'm almost dead, fury strike lol80kcrit.
Warrior: Stun, stun, stun, stun, stun, 70% of your HP is gone and you've moved maybe 2 seconds during the fight.
Sorcerer: Root, sleep, void pulse + fire blast, 70% of your health is gone, or you're dead if they crit.
Priest: Shield (no KD or stun for you), run in circles, omg they're getting close, fiery escape (70% slow), run in circles for 8sec until fiery escape is back up, repeat, oh no I'm taking some damage, fiery escape, heal to full, ha reflect killed you.
Archer: Place trap, stand on trap, spin in circles charging a shot, oh you didn't manage to avoid the charge attack that I can release at any time with an extremely short reaction time? Enjoy your lol80kcrit.
Lancer: Stun, stun, stun, stun, stun. Oh, you're hitting me? Who gives a crap, I'm a tank. Ow, your little scratches are starting to add up, second wind.
The only classes that don't have some stupid OP tactic or skill about them in PvP are Mystics and Berserkers, although if a zerker doesn't waste his inescapable doom he can use that after fear for an easy TS.
The point I'm trying to make is that 1v1s are not balanced, Slayers are not that one horrible OP class in a sea of balance, it's just the one that a bunch of morons decide to focus on.
None of the arguments as to why Slayers are OP in PvP make any sense. Wah they have CC. So does every other class in the game. Wah, they do high damage. So does every other DPS in the game. Wah, they can knockdown. Ok, remove knockdown from the game. Happy now?
