I kick anyone who can't use proper game terms and act as if everyone has played some crap other game.. Plus people who instead fully applies there incorrect knowledge from a crap mmo (warcraft) to this game and acts as if its correct and as if people will understand what your going on about.
If I have to google to get what you're talking about and you act like everyone should know, your the one who should be getting kicked.
Use the proper terms. It's called Instance Matching here. IM if you love acronyms.
Hell the closest thing to it, the LFG tool is also not what your talking about, so your just causing confusion.
LFD does not exist in this game, learn it's terms or go back to warcraft.
Does such a guide exist?
Specificly, a guide that shows me each zone quests that gives an achievement, sorted by zone.
Don't care much about the supressions.. Since they are obvious and pretty much all given achievmeents, if u grind out a million of em.
Nor the story since most every story quest gives an achievement.
But i'd like to single out the quests that give achievements in zones.
If not I guess I might make one myself. Can check teratome and cross reference each quests area manually, just time consuming to do it that way.
The biggest issue I've had with LFD is the inability to kick players unless you're the leader. What if your leader's a douchebag? I've been in quite a few where the leader doesn't even join and we're stuck there waiting for the guy to not be AFK. Or, he'll AFK right before a boss. Or, sets the loot to something retarded and won't pass lead to fix it.
Biggest issue I have with that is that no matter how hard you work at it, theres no way to ensure you are the leader or even have any good odds at it.
It just seems to always give it to the lancer no matter what to me. Even If I spent a long time forming a group manually and have 4 of 5.. lancer single quees and bam get the star.. Very stupid setup. If you manually form the majority of the group, you should keep it.
But I also dont think your idea of MORE kicking is the solution. Less getting kicked is what were after.. So no I dont support being able to kick a leader.
All of your scenarios can be easily worked around like this:
Instance match completes, u accept. This puts you in grp. Note: This does NOT put you on timer at all. It instead offers a teleport to the dungeon - and this teleport option has a good 380+ second timer on it as I recall.. And for a good reason:
It gives you time to qualify the party. Engage them in converstaion before clicking yes.. EG: At the very least ensure the group leader is not afk... So that problems solved, if hes afk dont enter. The other 4 can re-queue and the queue likely wont be long as your only waiting for 1 more.
If he's a douchebag, well reform without him and blacklist him, leaders like that will not last long in this game if you dont support them.
Encouraging anarchy where anyone can kick at anytime isn't the solution, it will just cause more greif and whine posts.
Kicking needs to be more restrictive, not less. Many other mmos simply never let you kick people inside of instances, period.. And that works fine, it self regulates because it encourages co-operation and qualification before hand.
So while I do like the leaders ability to votekick, it definetely shouldnt be expanded upon. It should be reduced to pevent stuffl ike the OP experienced.
Quick fixes:
- No timer for the kickee if he's been in less then 15min and particpated in no boss fights.
-All 4 members must agree to the kick if hes only been in the grp for less then 15min. After 15mins, majority rules.
mm..
Shouldn't the cooldown only trigger if they engaged in combat? Which also prevents kicking for 2min?
So are they doing the first trash mob, waiting 2 min , then kicking?
Or is it just really set up that dumbly and u get timered for getting kicked combat or not?
Also hows votekick work.. requires majority or all 4 other players to agree?
If anything yea, if you get without ever engaging in combat yourself (reglardless of others actions) you should not have any timer.
Golden Labyrinth has a entire slew of quests available. But they are all post-story quest follow ups.
They are available in the Hungry Caverns entrance area.
Yea non-intuitive i know, since you may have no reason to go there after completing the story.
Akashas I'd bet is similar, quests available post story as folow ups, probably in the nearby camp. Tho have not tried it yet to verifiy.
Most dungeons have follow up quests, think they intended us to run each dungeon at least twice if we wanna get the majority of quests done.
OK thanks...
Mostly as i though, pretty dumb system.
Really dont like that you get auto kicked from a dungeon if the party leaves, even if your the leader. Feels like I have no control over anything and this just enforces careless zerg mentality.
EG: I start up a dungeon, 2 hr timer (btw its not just the lvl60,s sigil adstringo is 2hrs, lvl45).. Stick to the critical path and lill all/most of the boss, but if I wanna stay and hunt some leftover mobs, I can be rudely interupted by my party leaving.. Plus ill be locked out for as much as an hour and a half or longer (depending on how it took us to clear the critical path or for ppl to lose interest).
Quote
"You can, assuming no reset was initiated, return to a dungeon and hand in quests(CR comes to mind)."
Seems like usually you cant, as the dungeon usually only takes 30-45min.. And all too often everyone just insta-leaves soon as its over, kicking you out and forcing a wait to turn in the quests.
The timer should only apply after you kill the final boss, or if its many bosses with good loot, after say the first good one. And it should never kick you from an instance if your party has to go. Only exception should be if you're votekicked (and everyone agrees), and even in cases such as those, they should prolly half the timer like they do for the instance matching tool.
I mean i could see some of these rules for the lvl60 hardmodes, or heck even harsher rules wheres theres no releasing and re-entering period.. But they start right away bam at lvl20 when everyones still a noob, its way too harsh for non-endgame.
Been doing lots of instances, but still not clear how this confusing system works..
Recently ran Sigil Adstringo and noticed this:
Run 1: Goes fine up to last boss, then some players leave right as we engage the last boss, so we lack the dps to win. Get 1 new one, he comes in, but he asks if we could kill a nearby bam while we wait for another, I agree.. Kill the bam outside go back in.. He mentions a timer? i dunno if he actaully tried to in or not, but I was able to re-enter the old instacne seveal times over the course of a cpl hours.
Well group wouldnt fill and couldnt Instance match us due to his timer to get ppl from other servrers.. So I called it.. Ppl left group and it kicked me out of the dungeon.. This is pretty lame imo.. --My-- Instace (I was the party leader) gets destroyed because people leave group? should not happen.
Anyways I tried solo after:
-Entered, killed some stuff.
-Left.. Looked at timer: 1 hour, 50min left
-Was still able to re-enter just fine.
So I guess these apply?
-Timer is only to get a new instance, or queue again for instance matching, re-entering old one is fine.
-If your solo you can keep an instance forever.. But if you group, its destroyed when the last member leaves, or leader forces a disband. (This is particularly annoying if your still on timer at the end and have quests to turn in inside the dungeon but everyone leaves...)
-Timer starts the moment you enter (weird)
This accurate? Anywhere there is a list of how long timers are? Think they were all 1 hr or less for dungeons below sigil adstring (45), and 2 hrs for it.
Built in (per group) voice chat. (EG: DDO, LoTRO)
Would create a much nicer, stronger community, and help a ton in pugs as stopping to use text chat just gets you killed.
Greet,
Workaround:
Engage the party in a short conversation before you accept the teleport inside the dungeon (which begins your timer).. If they are gona kick you, it's generally within the ~2min or so you have to accept that teleport.
Tip:
What you posted in say chat is technically against the rules of conduct (rules 1 and 2). So while they weren't conducting themselves very nicely, neither were you, so its hard to feel sorry for you given your outburst.
Redflag:
You were /say chat while still in the party.. The proper chat channel to use would be /party.
It would also be nice if we had a way to search for other players that are online, based on their name, class, level, guild, current location, etc... Tie this in with the LFG flag and you can then do a full search of all players who are looking for group, anywhere in the game, that are also in your level range who you can then send an invite to.
There should also be some kind of indication to the party leader when someone does request to join the party about what level and class the person is. Right now all we get is an indication of the person's character's name.
Agreed, additional options for players who are LFG but dont want to lead would be great too. Though FFXII isn't the best example of a game with great grouping tools.
The best i've seen by far is DDO (Dungeons and Dragons online). It has every feature i've mentioned, and you , and even more. Plus very slick integrated voice cchat makes for a very nice community. Enmasse should check out its LFM system in particular, it's incredibly more advanced.
re: LFG toggle.. This actaully exists in DDO too, but in actaully failed as a concept. Literally -No one- uses it.
Why?
The LFM system is so advanced it's unneccesary. Anyone looking for a group generally has an idea of what they wanna run, so they click an appropriate lfm as the system is clear and concise and what works.
Plus DDO simply lets you view ALL players online all the time in a nice easy to use search interface.. So you can just ask anyone, at anytime, they need not set any lfg tag. (tho ppl who set the lfg tag auto sort to the top of the list).
-- I realise the detractors of such a feature -- oh but i dont wanna be spammed. They solved that: It has a anonymous checkbox to hide yourself from the UI.
Re: You bottom note.. Actaully thats incorrect, TERA does indeed show you the class and level of the person applying, plus gives a accept or decline auto link. Tho as i've noted the accept link doesnt work as it should, it just send san inv which requires confirmation, when it should just put the person in the grp, as they obviously already confirmed there desires by clicking the lfg.
Have you not tried the system yet yourself? It works nice as is, i recommend you give it go.. If more ppl used it, id be great..
Today i've had up a LFG for 6+ hours, for a fairly popular dungeon - Necromancers tomb. In that time, ive seen no less then 30+ ppl spam the /a and /u channels asking for a Necromancers tomb group.. Not a single one clicked my lfg.... Well I did get one, 6 hours later, which was slightly too late as I had already formed and done the dungeon earlier (4man so the lfg didnt auto dismiss I guess since we never filled).
Maybe also add a 2nd tutorial quest ? I know there is one that tells you all about the lfg system next to bastion of lok.. But I guess most players manage to skip it, or pay no attention to it.
PS: As a workaround in the mean time you can post a LFG writing something like "NT - Need leader/guide" so people know you dont want to lead but are lfg.
