Smoke199's Post History

I play from 6pm -1am PST. Typically most uniterrupted time is 10-1am PST. Id love to group up with some people to make leveling go a little faster and run instances together.
You can message me here or ingame at KRIPT.
Thanks.
Actually there is no per se hard way and easy way. In both cases, whether in the room with the boss, or pulling the boss back to laser disc room you can avoid adds. In the main chamber its via an interrupt of his cast and in the laser disc room they just dont spawn. Its really not a big exploit you are just avoiding having to interrupt one cast. Says as much in the SM guide here on the TERA website.
But yeah those people were jerks. Id personally have prefered the fight if there was an option to do it the "hard way" for more loot. (i.e. adds have to spawn but killing all adds gives a second yellow drop).

Question. Am I just bad or is tanking BoL just harder then tanking normally would be? I tried tanking at 20 and we made it but we did have a few deaths. I shout, things attack me, things stop attacking me, I cry. ;;

At 26 will it get easier? And what starting glyphs are good for tanking? I wanna tank. =( I half quit my 50 sorc because bad GL tanks made me pull out my hair.

I think you (or your group) is just bad. You should be able to tank in BOL no problem.
Here are some issues:
Is this group substantially better geared or higher level than you (That could cause excess aggro)
Are they attacking mobs before you attack them
Is your healer blowing big heals constantly

If none of those are true its basically your fault. All you have to do in BOL is charge into a group, shout, block, throw an occasional shield barrage if its AOE or some other single target attacks if not, then continue to repeat (shout on cooldown, block, attack)
If you have the red circle under your feet your good. Boss does some attacks that are not at primary threat target but its still not too bad.
Occasionally, DPS will die regardless of what you do. There are AOEs by mobs, they get cleaved, yadda yadda
Im not big on Class Warfare so let me give you some facts.

Soloing as a lancer is terrible. Its slow. Things take forever to die. You can easily help out lancers by inviting them to group with you while you are leveling. Then when you need a tank, low and behold you have some people to ask. Funny enough, Beserkers are really great at leveling.

Being a lancer pre-26 is not really a full fledged tank so to speak. You only have one real aggro skill (a shout) and you most lancers wont have all of their gear set up for instance tanking yet. So if your basing your judgments on a Bastion of Lok run then your right they are mostly going to sit there turtle and shout once in a while. Its the best way to generate threat.

A good group can make an average lancer good. And vice versa. The very first run I did in Bastion of Lok two people disconnected so we did it with only three people. The priest healer new which skills would generate lots of aggro and the warrior knew how to manage his health. We cleared the whole instance - no deaths. We even accidentally pulled the whole back room before the final boss (if you dont clear it they come). It was so much fun because everyone was forced to play their class to their best and work as a team. If you come in with the attitude that the instance should just be a zerg fest and blow all your big heals and big attacks your making it hard for everyone else.

Constructive criticism should be welcomed by people but you have to do it right. Most lancers dont have strats on all the instances yet. If you've done it before - step up and say so - especially if you see they are undergeared (i.e. the lowest level you can be or no blues).
You beg for people to group up with you.
Ok you are mistaken here slightly. You can set anything to run off chain skills. However, Spring attack has a built in mechanic that provides for a faster animation if you do it as a combo. This is seperate from chain skills (which really just provides the opportunity to use the spacebar instead of a keymap). So what I am asking is what is the combo or set of combos to get that faster animation. I know its at least:

3 normal attacks then spring attack - super fast
tooltip also hints at shield barrage being a trigger for the super fast but it seems inconsistent.
Haha. I know I saw in your video. You had a lot of good stuff too, but it was funny watching you hit jump after missing the QTE.

I am loving this game. I am just getting ready to go into the second instance SM. Here is a question that maybe people can help with:

1. I can get the fast springing attack after a 3 regular attack combo. This is a great move. However, I am having a hard time understanding the mechanics behind getting the fast springing attack to trigger from anything else?

Let me contribute to this guide:

1. Dont map Spacebar to your chainskill and jump - That's a really dumb thing to do.

Well this game has been out in Korea for a while. Id imagine at the later stages of the game classes really shine.
Best Tank - Barak Lancer
Best Healer - Mystic
Best DPS - Sorcerer

Is that pretty much how it breaks down?
What do you think is the 2nd most in demand class
Mystic or Sorcerer

Im looking for an alternative to Lancer and would love some advice on a class that will be in high demand end game. Just came off a SWTOR character that was melee DPS and boy that was agonizing trying to find groups.
