I believe Intel CPUS can efficiently run MMORPGS than the AMD CPUS.
Could be different for Tera, though.
I have a AMD 7970 and Intel i7, and I get about 27-30ish FPS while in Lumber town. I get a nice 80 fps to 50ish outside in PVE zone.
Well see I am actually PERFECTLY fine outside of the towns. I get 60-100 FPS. But I figured that even with "quality" components, even SOME of the towns would play with a bit higher FPS. I hate running around a town and having my FPS dip below 15 FPS and look like my screen keeps freezing every so often. It's a bit unacceptable for a game of such caliber being run on such equipment. And I am not just talking about mine, even people with better computers.
Actually, the resolution is of no issue at all.
I'm using my Sony Bravia TV as a monitor and it's only a 720p TV
Old newbie here returning to Tera after a year. Long story short, I just bought a brand new custom PC and was hoping that it would fare a lot better on the game than my old one did, which is a reason why I stopped playing Tera before. It was playable, barely. Anyways, now that I have this newer, beefier rig, I come back only to find I am still having some FPS issues. I've already toggled with the settings here and there but to little avail. Can anyone tell me what the most graphic intensive settings are without sacrificing character detail and the sort. The computer should be more than capable of running the game at max settings but maybe it's just the amount of congestion in some of the towns.
CPU : AMD FX-8350 @ 4.5 GHZ
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 TI FTW+ 3GB
PSU: 720w Corsair Silent Pro
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Black @ 7200 RPM 64MB cache
So I just finished building my new computer but the game is giving me performance issues (in before dirty remark). I am getting frame dips and sometimes even lag. The odd thing is that my computer is more than capable. I built this computer to be "future proof" as much as possible... I'm not getting excessive heat in my video card OR processor. The CPU is water cooled and the case has push pull air flow.
16 Gigs of RAM at CAS 7
M4 SSD 256GB primary and 1 TB HDD @ 7200 RPM secondary
MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC 1.5 GB DDR5 384 BIT
My ping isn't dipping above 75 ms. I'm on a 50 Mbps connection from Road Runner.
I guess it might be easier for me if I wasn't a Priest too. I'm just not as strong as the DPS classes and I eventually become the easier target, there isn't enough healing spells for me to use to protect myself from a DPS class of any kind. I don't mind getting into fights on the road and stuff and I don't mind losing, its just those damn campers who sit in the same place just looking for people to kill. I mean what do you get out of killing someone with two or three skills or attacks ? I guess they get to feel like one of those bro kids who cheats on there girl and kills there dog and stuff.
Are you kidding dude? Priests are such a great class for PVP... Maybe you should look at some class tutorials/vids
What name do you even roll with?? I've been rolling on VOT with the Name Stryker since CB2 lol.
Jujubee.... So you're the [filtered] that took my Stryker name...
I didn't bother with it in CBT since I started since the first beta, I had reserved the name Stryker in reservation but deleted it and went with my other name for my Elin.
It just fit more. I was gonna save Stryker for my Slayer later on but thanks for telling me it's taken :[
It's supposed to be like the Jujube candies. I just added an extra E
You know... Everyone complains how the PVP servers are filled with ganking trolls but I just don't see it.
I am playing on VoT, the most populated server of them all and I've only been ganked ONCE. I even test people by running into open areas and standing next to people on my little Elin lancer and nothing...
I think you just have bad luck
PS: Channel switch should be your friend
It all depends on what you mean by mid range...
I just built my new custom PC for about 900 dollars using mid/high range components
Asrock Z77 Motherboard - 170
16 GB Ram - 130
Zotac GTX550ti - 80
Antec 900 case - 65 on special
Corsair Capstone Series 650w PSU - 80 on special
3rd Gen i7 CPU - 340
I used my old mouse and keyboard from a previous computer and using my 32 inch Sony Bravia TV as a monitor.
I get about 50-60 FPS on high detail. My video card isn't top notch either though but it does the job damn well
