Taemira's Post History

@Taemira: The block isn't going to be as awesome as you're making it out to be. It eats up stamina like crazy (constantly while you hold it and big chunks for every hit you take), as does Evasive Roll, and stamina regens very, very slowly.

Ohhh, well that's good to know.
Honestly I don't have much info on the update other than the ambiguous article they posted in the blog way back.

Do you think you could link me the page where you're getting this more in-depth info?

I'd love to read for myself. ♥

I am sort of sad they are changing warriors. I've been complimented on my ability to tank as one (now, I've only done up to SM on my warrior, as I levelled a priest first)

and I like giving a class that is anything but broken a good name.

I feel like, after we get a "block" ability, we'll be severely OP; if they replace an ability such as death from above or our dodge with the block, I will be quite disappointed... DFA is one of the moves that makes me feel intensely bad-[filtered] as a warrior. If I lost it I might not like playing the class as much.

I haven't, but I bet it'd look adorable on my elin priest, now that you mention it...
She's got the kitty ears. Mrowww.
I adore TERA.
I think that for a live action combat system, the controls are sluggish.
It's not a latency issue or FPS. I'd like to think I'm competent enough to know the difference.
When I press a button in this game, a noticeable amount of milliseconds go by before something actually happens on-screen.

It's never killed me or anything, and it's certainly something I can adapt to.

But, I notice it most when I go to play another game and the controls are far more responsive.

I'm a pretty big fan of TERA...
yet I accept this as a fault. Perhaps it'll be improved upon.

There are other faults and unpleasantries for me...
-I hate that I can't organize my characters in the login screen by size, or how often I play them, etc.
-I hate that the large stamina window resets it's position every single time I start the game fresh. custom UI should stay custom, rawr!
-Sometimes, my character drags her bum along the ground reaaaaally fast because TERA hasn't loaded the mount I'm riding yet.
-Sometimes my character gets stuck in 'walking' animation after coming through a portal, even if she's actually standing still.

It's a new game. There will be issues. Now that there's a community, EME can get feedback.

Hurray for communication!

so far I love the vanarch system...

It makes u involed in the server politics, and at least for me, its something new in a MMO.

So far, at least my gameplay experience is amazing with this new system.

My opinion: you should give it at least some time before making posts or judging. Afterall if the system becomes rotten, the community will speak up, and people are not going to vote for X vanarch.

You've never played EVE Online, have you? Politics is nothing new to MMOs.
It's a Sandbox MMO (as in, not RPG, although people do role-play there)
and there are basically no NPCs. Everything that happens in the game is influenced by actual players.

If you watch the trailers for EVE, most of them are actual guild vs guild (or in Eve's case, corporation vs corporation) battles.

There's an insanely complex political system in that game.

Because the EVE universe is much larger than any other MMO I've ever heard of.
It's literally a universe.

However, I don't play EVE. I prefer an epic-story MMO RPG, and I love customizing my character, and playing a character, instead of a starship.
TERA is simply more my kind of game. It's simpler. I don't have to think about mass amount of credits, and do a bunch of math. Or fit my ship perfectly balanced blah blah.

I don't want to come home from work and do math for fun in a game.

Anyway this is getting off topic.

My point was only that politics aren't new to MMOs.

But kudos to TERA for putting one in an MMO RPG.

I'm a lancer.

I kick people if their dps is too low (no crystals etc), they don't listen, or never dodge.

I get close to kicking people if they decide to attack mobs before I can taunt, they actually think I lost hate and tell me HOW to play the game, or they are attacking the wrong mobs first or off soloing their own.
My boyfriend plays a lancer, and I heal on my priest.

We had this really bad group of people the first time we ran SM.
The sorcerer kept on dodging back into more mobs, so that the whole room was pulled. He was paying little attention to where he was going/standing...

He died a couple times.

Wondered why.

And when I told him he was aggroing the room he started [filtered]ing at my boyfriend about holding threat.

But as the OP stated, this sorcerer was silly and seemed to not understand that keeping monsters near the tank is a good thing, and kept running around in circles, so it was hard for me to heal him, and hard for my boyfriend to taunt.

Derp.
I like you.

I don't even tank but I know that when adds spawn on me to run TOWARDS him.
And then -surprise!- he takes aggro from me faster.
And we are all happy llamas.
It's a big blob of Maya 3D, no texture added.
:P
It's like they didn't bother to add any depth or texture.

It's the outline of the Elin with the spiked pigtails.

Thank you.
See, everybody? Now I can create an Elin with the same feature.
And the Shadow Aggressor will match!
-gasp-
