I don't know how it is on other servers but it's exactly how I thought it would be on Jagged Coast. Zerg guilds ally zerg guilds ally zerg guilds and all vote for each other.. i knew it would be this way.


So per continent, one guild based on it's size is guaranteed first pick of 19 provinces, and the others carry on as normal. And nothing happens..

More quests open up as your reputation gets higher, It forces you to choose which reputation to focus on.


That's all fine and good.

Until you consider that to farm one high grade item, like an accessory from Invalesco, for instance. Takes a month. And the stats are random, and you need to farm credits just to buy them. So what if you buy an Earring.. and it's junk? you can't reset it. You have to farm 1700 credits just to try again.

Meantime you can't work on any other reputations. It is exceptionally grindy, and it will take many months just to get the right accessories, which arn't even the best accessories you can get. Ontop of this, you need to be favorable with every Rep, just to get the Panther cat.

Submit real proof that IGN scores are bought, please. Something other than "I heard it through a friend/a random post on the internet/my mailman".

Biased claims of biased reviews = cute, although pathetic.

Reviews are just subjective. A reviewer disagreeing with you is no more shocking than the next forum poster over disagreeing with you. What a review is supposed to do is explain why they feel the way they do about a product, and this IGN review has attempted to do that. Personally, I agree with most everything he said for reasons that are very similar to those listed in the article. If anything, I think his score may have been a bit generous.

I guess they failed to pay me off too?


I never hear anyone citing IGN unless it's against a game they don't like. The fact that Tera has a high user score on Metacritic, Gametrailers, MMORPG and in general, good reviews elsewhere. And then a review comes out for a company that hands out 9.9s like candy to games like SWTOR and Diablo III make me laugh.

You do know that Minea didn't even touch it because people like me put it back on track, to actually talking about constructive criticism, instead of "HURR DURR EME U R DA DEBIL" type trollish comments? When everyone went back to slinging poo, it was locked. With good reason.

Even with a sensationalist title, it survived much longer than it should have. Why? Because Tera fans thought some of the message, removed of the negativity deserved to be heard, and Minea even said a lot of it was being discussed there at EME over a day before it got locked.

Now you are hear, trashing Minea and calling her satan because she bent the rules more than she should have to let the message be heard. EME truly is evil.


First of all I never posted in that thread, or took part in the poo slinging. Secondly I enjoyed the legitimate conversation being had in that thread and thought it was a mistake to lock the thread. Please stop over exaggerating, and off the high horse please.


Except, once the legitimate conversation ended, it stopped being constructive and became trollish and then it was locked. It honestly should have been locked from the title alone. But the fact that EME took criticisms of their game, when prefaced as legitimate criticism, and not insults. should show you they are listening. EME has taken every opportunity to listen. Even this thread should be locked, because again, you are breaking the rules. By calling Minea out and making a sensationalist topic. She's been around many times and has not locked this thread, even though she probably should have several times. Due to the discussion.

I think you need to get off your high horse, because clearly you don't have an interest in following the rules. You could have easily made a topic about criticisms of Tera without calling Minea out, and then insulting her in your OP.

Nice, an 8.4 and they were actually objective about Tera's faults and what it did right.

IGN isn't fair at all. You can essentially buy a review from them no matter how bad the actual game is. This is partially due to Metacritic and how that works; a game can be great, but if it doesn't have at least an 85 on Metacritic people will get fired.

Honestly, I would love a games publisher to give every game they come across a 10/10, especially if a game doesn't deserve it, so people would actually bother to read the review instead of just looking at a number. As far as I'm concerned with TERA, it has a good amount of potential and the combat system is genuinely enjoyable.


The review was made entirely to sway public opinion. You really can only trust user scores. As websites like IGN and MMORPG can and are bought regularly. That's gaming today, if you don't get bought one way or another. You arn't given games, you arn't given exclusives, interviews, press footage, or press data. In fact if you arn't willing to be bought, you can't even make it as a game journalist.

Some websites, like GB.TV revel in being paid subsidiaries of NCsoft.

I'd have to agree with the OP. You can put together a well-formed criticism, and you'll get "GO BACK TO WOW!" within... 5 posts.


The default response usually contains one or more of the following: whining, crying, QQing, babies, kids, entitlement, etc.

Unless you're 100% happy with Tera & EME you're going to get flamed, no matter how thoughtful, reasonable, or constructive your critique is.

There are not enough "rock the boat" people anymore. Too many simply accept what they're given. They never question or try to improve it and attack anyone else who does.


Except that's wrong, because time and time again I have criticized Tera, and En Masse, going back two years. The hilarity.

The real hilarity, is that you call us drones. When you clearly were not here, when fans of this game were more critical of the game itself then the trolls were. The difference is, we were constructive and aimed to fix flaws.

Your argument is, when you say something that is a flat out lie, untrue, made up, and are corrected, and pointed out factually WHY you were wrong. you flip out and call us drones. It's sad honestly.
