I like how OP posts topic, then within an hour declares himself the winner.

Pro tip: 95% of people aren't reading the forums at 8am. And why would anyone post up something that's bannable.

Pro tip: 98% of all stats listed on forums are not correct.
An extra Pro tip: 8am is prime posting hours for people bored at work, not to mention just because it's 8am where you are, doesn't mean it is where I am.
^ lmao
I don't know from personal experience, but when questioned about leveling speed in this, he said in KTera it takes 3 days played time to hit cap.

To me, that seems fast and I believe it was lessened for the NA release. I am not a "hardcore" player, or even a "casual". I usually find myself somewhere in between. However, I usually side with the so-called hardcore people simply because the longer it takes for them to blow through it, the longer it will take me. This doesn't just extend their gaming experience, but mine in return. So long as it remains fun then have at it. It's a win/win.

Also, while a lot of people are saying this is not that type of game, they need to consider it. If a hardcore player can blow through it all in a week, that means about a month or two for casuals. This means in 2 months the player retention rate is going to be abysmal at best. This is why so many games are falling on their face. Trion is one of the few that have been able to actually raise their subs, they do this by releasing a non stop stream of fixes and content at what is considered the gold standard. I love this game, but there is no way they can compete with that. Especially since it's all ported over.

Like a lot of people, I haven't received the email containing info about the 'buddy codes' that are to be offered during Head Start. I instead heard it from a friend of mine, whose friend had gotten the email. This twice removed gossip line made me skeptical about the truth of it. It seemed silly to me that the company would offer free time during a head start that people had paid to have access too as a perk for pre-ordering the game, after all.

So I asked Customer Service if the change was in fact happening, and they confirmed it.

Let me just say right here that I'm not at all against the idea of offering the friend codes. In fact, I think it's a good idea for creating more press for the game. My issue with it is the timing.

I am of the opinion that the codes should have been active as of launch date, rather than during a Head Start that was stated to be only for people who had pre-ordered. I feel a bit deceived by this change, and I was confused when I saw no official mention of it. (If there is one, please do feel free to link it.. I did look, but I saw nothing.)

I honestly don't mind fighting all the other people who paid the way I did for this perk for names on my server. What I mind is fighting all of them plus each person's three friends who didn't pay. It seems unfair to me, and completely flies in the face of a stated perk of pre-ordering.

I'm just curious what other people's opinions are on the matter. I'll totally understand if I'm alone in feeling miffed about this, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Nice post. Unlike a lot of the others posting in this thread in response, it's clear you have manners. If nothing else, you should be commended for being polite and constructive. I don't see a lot of that on forums. This type of post should be encouraged, not scoffed at.

I understand and agree with what you're saying. It's the principle.

The rest of you carry on...
I seen this done on youtube videos as well. It looks like all they do is hit a key, it pans 180deg perfectly with no camera stutter. Personally, I wasn't able to do it. I was able to simply move my mouse and keys together at the same time so it slowly looked back while I was holding "S" and still moving forward. As for a key that did it, couldn't find it.

TERA has a DPS meter now?

Nope. To quote Liz Lemon "Shut it down!"

Ohh no.... the damn damage meter...

I have always been a dps in the 12 years I played mmorpg's and I'm pretty certain of what I'm doing and the damage meter wont have an effect on me as a single person. BUT I don't like when I'm in a group and someone isn't doing enough damage and he gets yelled at to a low where he don't even like to play the game anymore... I get furious and extremely pissed at the person yelling at the poor guy as long as the dude tries his best I can't demand more.. New people that are new to mmo's and get in a group in their first dungeon and get yelled at, called names and all the rest of the bull... might not come back. People yelling at people on mic or in-game chat will never get my respect as a person or as a player simply to childish Grow up!

In before "Then don't group with the guy that was yelling!". Why is that a solid argument and "Don't implement DPS meters at all" isn't?
Cool trailer, anyone else get a strong Fable vibe in the beginning?

There's so many out there doing their own reviews though.

I certainly did not pick up Tera because somewhere I read told me to. lol

That's great, but there are mountains of people out there who have yet to hear of Tera and will because Gabe mentioned it. That's a VERY good thing for Tera!

Personally, I like games better when they fly under the radar of most gamers. Chat tends to be better, and the maturity of the player-base is usually higher. It's all debatable though.
