Video games have been correlated with violence in children and adolescents, however, correlation =/= causation. It's really hard to prove causation with something like this, mostly because it's incredibly difficult to tease apart the genetic elements of personality - do violently predisposed people choose to play violent games, or do violent games create the violent behavior in children? When can you ignore environment and raising?
You can see how difficult (almost impossible) it is to prove causation in a situation like this.
When will the American media give it up? The CNN article is just more catering to media bias BS to drum up ratings/hits on the website. Study after study has shown that video games increase social skills, cognitive and critical thinking, and improve memory skills. Studies have also shown what many gamers have know all along: Violent people are just violent, and would do horrible, terrible things if video games didn't exist.
The only thing that can truly be said about violence in video games is that it can INSPIRE mentally weak or disturbed individuals.
If a game has all races start in one starting zone without their own unique story it just shows that the developers didn't really give much thought into the dept of the game and are just plain lazy. The only thing this game has going for itself is the target-less combat. Everything else is just hype, mass marketing, and cloning of other generic MMO's. Honestly I'm very surprised a game of such low caliber charging $15 month. At best it should just have a box price and perhaps cash shop. They're just listening to people on the forums and adding stuff, building on top of a weak foundation. There's actually a game that's coming out soon with no monthly fees and has real dept. I'm not gonna say which game, because you probably already know it before I tell you. That already shows this game is pale in comparison.
First off, It's "depth". I'll give you the benefit of doubt that your H key isn't working 100%.
Secondly, your complaining about what you call a non-existent feature that to my knowledge was never promised by Blue Hole Studios (the developer/publisher) or En Masse Entertainment (NA/EU localization). If you want a game with ultra-deep races and character creation, then go wait to play that "game that's coming out soon with no monthly fees and has real dept"; or perhaps you should play "the game that is already released that has real depth and is set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away".
That isn't to say the races in this game have no story (they do), but it's not a main selling point of the game. And it isn't fair to judge any game on something it does not promise to deliver.
Time to inhale my food like a ravenous beast so I can get back to TERA

Interesting that currently its almost 50/50 for and against cross server LFG tool.
Personally speaking, I think cross server LFG tools contribute to the destruction of online communities. As someone who played WoW from 1.2 to 4.1, I can speak from experience that there was a noticeable change in the player base, and the overall dungeon experience. It wasn't an overnight thing, but communication with cross server players dropped, the dungeon became less about fun and more about how fast you can blast through it, and since players had no real reprocussions for there actions, some players abused the system and just treated other players like jerks.
2. There is no option for the launcher to remember my email address.
3. Start game have to spam the escape key to skip 3 to 4 different intro movies and logos... what is this an EA game?
4. Look for an option in the Options menu to see if I can disable the opening cinematic so won't have to see it again. Alas, that is not an option. So I will have to start my Tera play session every time by mashing the escape key... what a great experience.
5. I do not get an option to skip the prolog section of the game.
6. In the pro-log section am spammed by large full width banner tool tips. I have no way of disabling these after I search the options menu for an option that does not exist.
7. I can't re-arrange the buttons on my skill bar. I try the unlock or lock button this button has no effect.
8. Complete several quests I am still being spammed with full screen tool tips on how to move even after 5 minutes of play.
I exit the game in frustration and post this on the forums
I am considering canceling my pre-order at this point. This is really bad design. All these problems focus on control being removed from the player.
This game needs some major polish.
You sir have given me an excuse to use this meme:
