TinkerToy's Post History

Canvassing the group to see if anyone else has run into this issue, (it was mentioned in an earlier thread, but it was during a Nexus if I remember right).

Played most of the weekend relatively trouble free, did have the occasional FPS drop depending on where I was, but nothing my comp couldn't handle. Get in today after work, download the patch, login, and noticed that my ping was all over the place averaging 146 ms at login, and sometimes jumping as high at 3666 ms, this was noticed while I was standing still. Was logged in between 1630 - 2100 PST this evening, (04:30 - 09:00 p.m.).

Is there something I missed in the patch notes? Anyone else having this issue? Or is it time to put 'Bessie' out to pasture?

Regards,
Tink
Was hoping that someone here could answer this before I submit a ticket. In my quest for looking for places to play, I returned to SI, (already had a low level character there before I found out my friends were on another server), only to find out that chat either dosen't seem to work. Thought it might have been a level restriction, (I'm lvl 10 now), but either I'm having issues, or everyone is real quiet. I don't have this issue on the other server I'm on.

Any thought?
Thanks in advance!
*rubs temples*....I don't think I've ever been in a more retarded community.
Dunno really, prior to the Beta, was just about ready to drop my WoW sub with a vengeance, and wipe STO, and Forsaken world from my hard drive forever. But after participating in the Betas, and reading the forums now and then, think I'll wait a bit.

The only real gripes I have with Tera at the moment:

1. The UI; its still a bit clunky, movement, and skills, (these will probably just take some getting used to).

2. Drop rate for some crafting, (as archer, getting the leather to work with is a real PITA). Some have suggested skinning the mobs as a gathering method. Hope EME can come up with something similar, or just increase the drop rate.

3. The ability of the group leader in the PUG, using LFD, to change the loot rules in mid stride. This one is sort of a game breaker for me. And yes, I'm aware of the ways to mitigate that, but I think EME should really consider a fix.

Apologies If I've gone beyond the scope of the thread, these are just me 0.02 cents. :)

D-Bags being D-Bags. Surprise surpise, there is a D-Bag in cross server LFD.

By not changing these rules and not enforcing some sort of ban or suspension for bending these rules there is absolutely no reason NOT to be a douche bag since you don't play with people on your own server. This isn't a problem with it being cross server this is a problem with people being douchebags.

Enforce the rules yourself! Stop using the cross server lfd if you are getting ripped off! If you just need some exp grind, and don't care about loot - hop in there and get a fast dungeon in.

It's the PuG gamers mentality that is the problem here. You feel like you should be able to Queue up to Orange gear with strangers, and enjoy the same success that people who put time into developing relationships within a game / guild.

Stop playing MMO's like a trip through the drive through at McDonalds.

While I can empathize with what your saying to a point, (i.e. some server "community" building), EME decided to implement a tool, the LFD, as another avenue for folks to take in the game. My opinion on the subject is that, if I decide to take this route, and contribute to the success of the run, I would like a fair crack at the drops. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?

And on the point of "relationship" development, while I'll be forking out the fee to play, long term commitment to a guild might be tenuous at best, so the LFD tool is perfect for me at the moment.

And to be honest, if what I've witnessed in the previous CBT/OBT is an indication of the community as a whole, and your not coming to the game with any RL friends, that "relationship" you speak of, is going to be a long time coming.

Another bump

I have been looking for a thread like this ever since I noticed the FFA (default?) loot setting. My first run through Bastion had a Slayer who picked up the Warrior swords, ignored the Warrior in the effort to get the item from him. The Slayer basically told the Warrior to quit whining and never gave him the swords. The Warrior ended up leaving the group.

All of my runs have been with the FFA setting, I was very lucky to get my item from the person who looted it after I asked but I would be fuming if that didn’t happen.

The LFD tool should be LOCKED to Round Robin for greens and Class Specific rolls for Blues. If the group is formed on the same server, the default should be the above and the group should receive a notification/voting system if the loot options are going to change.

I will be keeping an eye on this post in the hopes we get some type of response from EME. This plays a major factor in whether or not I stick with this game or move on.

Well, I hate threats liek yours like - "Or i will move one"

Adios.

Your "Loot Fairness" rules - will be one step closer to Governing the Political System in place.

And no offense, but every other game out there has your "Loot Fairness Rules" Go play one of those.

Nothing makes anyone more mad than being a victim of a ninja looter, I agree.

But nothing is sweeter than enforcing "Street Justice" upon a ninja looter either. While this may "Fix" the game for you, you must realize that it will "Destroy" part of the game for others.

After reading this, "I'll" assume that your one of the peeps that's using this ability to full effect? No stranger to the risks of the "pug". But unless your going to roll with your "friends" only, Everyone who goes in should get a crack at the loot.

However that being said, you let me know before hand as leader, that your doing this run for "so and so", your at least being courteous enough to let me know that I'm not going to get anything out of this and I can go seek my fortunes elsewhere.

IMO, they need to fix it so at least it can't be changed mid stream.

And seriously, "Street Justice"?, what is this drek you speak of, this is a video game. In the time I've been in the CBT/OBT, I've seen more stupid shenanigans in game/on chat than I've every come across the in the "street"....

@TinkerToy Try remapping the quickbars to keys like R,T,Y,F,G,H,C,V,B and Shift+ versions for much easier access to used skills when playing with the WADS layout

@OP shame on you. shoo

Thanks! I'll give it a go and see how that works out.
LMAO, sorry broseph, but taking into consideration some frustration you passed on to those lowbies you slaughtered, ya, I'd say it was pretty much justified. That being said, I wouldn't worry about it too much, and as I'm sure there might be some tweaking and peaking before final release, so ya, you might get your wish.
Hmmm...... that's PVP, uh...deal with it?
Frankly, the OP does have a bit of a point. Admittedly, this UI is going to take some time to get used to as I do find it a bit clunky. I don't mind that I can't "tab-target" anymore, but the whole WASD keyboard movement is just annoying especially when I have to take my fingers off of those keys to go hunt for a spell to hit. I think it would've been better off to leave movement on the mouse, (aiming still would've worked there too), and just left the keyboard for spells.

Also, I didn't notice anything for macros, anyone else pick up on that yet?
