The important stuff is that spellbinds have been moved to the cash shop. The only way you can get spellbinds is through the broker.

Masterwork Alkahest have been removed from the vendor; however, you can conveniently purchase a superior form of Alkahest in the cash shop. If you want, however, you can grind for Masterwork Alkahest by doing dungeons.

The game is neither of those, you don't have to spend a dime in-game for anything, even cosmetics, I never have and I have 5 different masks, three outfits and four mounts. All bought with gold from other people who bought with cash.

Can you still get spell binds from the NPC?
This spell bind.. what exactly does it do? Do I really need it to mature my character? Because I rather not be a slave to someone for the sake of progression.

I hate pay to win games, but I hate even more pay to progress ones.

EDIT: Were spellbinds available when the game was subscription based?

Like I said GG En Masse! They should put odds on there!

Thanks! Your great contribution to this game shall make it prosper and grow!
A real shame that you didn't get your skin after cashing in that much; however, my children and my children's children will enjoy Tera in the years to come; all thanks to you!
I played the game back in beta when it was subscription based. I quit because of school and living expenses pretty much.

Now that the game is free to play, I've have started to play again. However, is the game from what I've read been changed to influence the player to buy progressive based items from the cash shop? Can the spellbinds and ext powders be fairly accessible via in game, like back when the game was subscription based?

Just need to really know before I invest further time into Tera.

Dude come on.

They have more people paying them a sub than they did before, costs don't baloon out of control more than what they were before.

They changed the whole game so you can't upgrade anything unless you buy the spellbinds and ext powders from the cash shop, this alone is a huge amount of money they make now compared to before.

They have a huge cash shop selling all kinds of things.

Ontop of that they are "forced" to make us gamble with RNG bags with low chance to make ends meet?

This isn't saying cash shop items are bad, this is saying you don't have to rip people off that want to give you money to make money.

I love the game, I want them to make big profits. I don't want to spend $50 and get nothing out of it, and I don't really want the game to degrade into the lowest of the low you see in other MMOs either.

From what I understand, you are saying that you must invest in the cash shop to progress in the game? And what are spellbinds and ext powders? Do I need these to progress? And where do I get them? Man.. I am really getting into the game again, I hope what you say isn't true.

Could you explain the reasoning behind wasting money on a second video card when the video card I have now works perfectly fine with every game EXCEPT TERA?

I have money laying around that needs attention, I also want to get a over all performance increase in most of my games. One of these games happens to be Tera.

This is the only game I have trouble running on my laptop. It's a core-i7 3630QM and I'm using a 650m. The problem is the GPU usage, on the character screen it goes up to 97%-98% but as soon as I get in game it's anywhere between 30%-50%. I've tested lots of tweaks and the highest I've ever seen the GPU usage go is 60%.

I'm assuming you're getting good frames because you have two GPUs, doesn't mean you're not getting low GPU usage, but combined, it makes it playable. And the porn argument is retarded when everyone gets good frames and high GPU usage in other games.

Then get a second GPU. Free to Play games get hardly any attention to these things. I'm planing to cross fire soon, so I am glad that I am reading that I might get a bit of an improvement in performance.
They need to make money somehow, because the game is free to play. So a bunch of fools will buy a ton of loot boxes and contribute to the games life span! Now isn't that a comforting thought.

I believe Intel CPUS can efficiently run MMORPGS than the AMD CPUS.

Could be different for Tera, though.

I have a AMD 7970 and Intel i7, and I get about 27-30ish FPS while in Lumber town. I get a nice 80 fps to 50ish outside in PVE zone.
