It should make you nervous. The server merges are a really negative indication of the game's populating.

Where some might look on this as a negative, I feel differently. By combining our servers, we facilitate a more unified community and give players a more full, alive world where finding groups, locating rare items (for lower prices!), and getting into dungeons quickly are the norm. Most importantly, combined servers will allow us to run more regular, player-focused events where we get to interact with our players..
It is a negative despite what they say. Saying it's not is just a way to soothe the uproar. It is quite obvious that En Masse has failed it's playerbase and this is the result. Population's drop on the servers and the new players from trials and advertisements are only replacing endgame players who have moved on. Everything players have been saying on the forums for months now (enchanting, nexus, class balances, vanarchy, pvp vanarchy, lfd function abuse, lfg spam chat, etc. etc.) has caught up with them.
Many people on the forums have defended the company saying everything is fine, calling the people with legitimate suggestions and improvements complainers, babies, and whiners. Moderation just sits by and allows behavior such as this to continue with no punishment or censorship because it benefits the company. There is an endless amount of posts in the general discussion forums with players telling people with suggestions to quit or play another game. This is not frowned upon, no action is taken to prevent and remove these type of statements. What did that company expect to happen?
Many players were holding out for BGs but after the initial hype wore off quickly. It was not enough to bring back un-subscribers (who were never even asked why they unsubscribed) as well as retain the interest of current players in comparison to the various other issues players have been experiencing that have not been addressed in the large amount of time that has passed since launch.
This is the beginning of the game becoming F2P, don't be fooled. Knox said that was the initial setup for the game in his Q&A, hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes.
Brian Knox is to gamming as Uwe Boll is to movies. I heard his interviews and he never made me feel confident about this game. He never had any real solid answers about the direction of the game or what they planned to do with it exactly. Even now it's a ???? giant question mark.
I've give you an example like in "insert game here" you have options on what you can do at end game.
You can Raid,You can Arena, You can do Knick knack quest for titles and achievements, or you can PVP in BG's or World (well used to be world).
But you have options on which route you choose at max level and options as of to how you want to get your max level gear. Tera doesn't have those kind of options it's Raid, raid, and raid, and raid somemore and now 1 BG thrown in there.
That's what gets repetitive and that's what people complain about and one of the few aspects of this game that makes the experience different is "Enchanting" and because of that it's has a high emphasis in this game which leads further into all the "Enchanting" complaints.
For a MMO to survive today it needs more "options" for you once you get to the end of the road. Especially if it's a P2P because you need a reason for people to keep logging in. It's not so much that people left Tera because it was a bad game, they left because there wasn't much to do after they had already accomplished these tasks.
Subscriptions are dropping because there has been no improvement to the game or any shown reason to stay. After a while when people venture from the game to the forums to asks about problems that occur or comment on things they notice and realize that more people share the same experiences, they realize that it's a bigger issue than they thought.
When these concerns are brought into light and repeatedly brought up and only met by a lack of responses, attempted improvements,or even acknlowledgement from the developer, people just simply move on. They get tired of complaining and tired of waiting for things to change. Of course people on the forums are vocal to tell about what they feel they don't like that needs improvement but, those that aren't vocal just leave and quit the game.
People only stick around in these games when they see things going places, if it's not than they leave. When a game is new and promising and showing that it's going to be booming with new content people are excited to play it and lookforward to future updates. With Tera the content that we got that we didn't have at release wasn't "new" content it was just more or less pieces of the game that was missing.
BG,End game dungeons etc. That's just normal stuff that SHOULD be standard in any mmo (which is why it's nothing to get excited over). When it's not there it just make the game feel like there's even less to do which is why those that hit 60 early on got bored and split, and those of us that stayed, hit 60 and did the new stuff became bored and then split. It would be hard for Tera to compete with other games because other games NEW and even some old still have more for you to do when you hit the level cap.
ya i dont think Tera will have game cards like WoW does only thing you can do is get pre-paid CCards with the amount of money u want on it and pay it for your subs
As far as Tera goes I really don't know about this game anymore. It seems what people suggest or points we try to get across just fall on deaf ears, and in the end EME/BHS or whomever just do what they want. At this rate there's not much of a future for the game unless a new developer takes over and does this game the way it should be done.By this time next year it should be interesting to see where the game stands. I enjoy Tera and care about the game enough to realize that it's in the wrong hands which is why it hasn't been pushed to its full potential.
I'm not sure whether I agree or not with this. On the one hand, they have done a good job implementing changes (and are continuing to do so). As long as the other issues get addressed (RNG, BG ranking, etc) and new features are added, I think it'll be fine. However, what you say does apply to forum moderation and response, and if implementation mirrors it, I'm hesitant as well. Hell, a calm thread with three well thought-out posts gets locked immediately, while threads openly discussing TERA's competitors goes on for several pages. Taking it to PMs clearly doesn't work, seeing as how I was promptly ignored (even a single sentence would have taken next to no effort). Anyways, moderator prerogative should and does reign supreme, yet it would be nice to have a clear, definitive strategy in doing so.
I'm not really talking about the recent additions I'm talking down the road. like future expansions etc. etc. changes happen in Tera but they don't happen fast enough. I'm just curious if there will be enough interests in this game a year from now for an expansion to even be developed because the game has been flip flopping. It was never marketed the way it should have been and it because of the way it was ran it ended up getting a bad rep from people who mostly just wanted the game to fail so they could push for GW2 or WoW or whatever. You'd be suprised how many people still don't know this game exists or what it's even about. It's just an obscure game they have no interests in because htey either haven't heard enough about it or only heard bad stuff about it. Marketing for this game was pretty weak.
Damn they still don't have these? They just cut part of their market off right there.
Not true..... not all games have a type of time card, plenty of the top F2P that dont either. Sorry but there are other ways to pay for the game with out a time card if you say there not then you been under a rock
Talk about putting words in peoples mouth and making up arguments with yourself. When did I imply all that?
I'm refering to people that don't have paypal or CC's and aren't interested in usin things of that nature to play games which is why Timecards are made available in the first place. By not having them you cut off a complete group of people from even trying your game. Can you speak on behalf of those people that prefer to use time cards instead of an actual credit card or paypal acount? Just because alternative payment methods are available doesn't mean everyone is interested in using them. With the billing history EME has had you think they'd be out there ASAP. I know for one if I could use a Time card over entering my personal payment info I'd go Time card in a minute. I don't like using CC's or things like PP for simple things. I especially don't like that info floating around in someone's data base.
Also I want to note that to have a paypal account you need to have a CC/bank account/SS# and all that jazz. Not everyone is comfortable with putting their financial and personal info on the internet like that. So if not a PP or a CC, your not left with many other options than those prepaid visa cards you can purchase at your bank. But to make it easier why not just offer a time card people can pay CASH for to play the game than have them go jump through all those hoops.
Well good news for EME, After playing from the beginning of the head start up until now, I can safely say that GW2 is more hype than anything.
I have been playing MMOs since Ultima online and I feel very confident in telling you that GW2 won't be big for long. The PVP does not even include ranks or rewards, WvW is a zergfest, dynamic quests are more lame than the optional quests in an elder scrolls game (the optional ones, not actual side quests or guilds.)
I am not going to go into the details of why this game will fade fast once people are level capped and people tire of gaining no rewards from PvP, but I will say that this is a great chance to fix all RNG upon RNG in Tera, GW2 will be very popular until people cap out. (ala SWTOR) and this is a great window for you to improve Tera.
In closing I would like to tell you that your product has the best combat system on the market, period. There are many manys in which Tera can improve, (that goes for every game) Removing the heavy RNG will go a long way.
You guys have done a great job of making some adjustments lately (droprates, lowered amounts of badges for ToT, etc). These types of things coupled with making endgame less luck based and more consistent (earned rewards, exp bar for enchanting) will go along way to bringing you more customers.
Nice little window of time while people vacation.. Please use it wisely.
You must not be very familiar with Guildwars at all. Guildwars isn't about maxing out it's about experiencing the game. NcSoft always adds new stuff to their games left and right. Even to this day GW1's still has had new missions and quests added into it. Before GW2 came out some months ago they added in a complete quest line called "Winds of Change" that in itself was like a new game within a game. What you see now is only the beginning. They didn't even start up Guild vs Guild events for cash prizes which I hope they implement soon enough as that is the foundation of what Guild Wars guild battles are about. Calling GW2 "just another mmo" is like calling "Terminator 2" Just another sci-fi movie. If you have been playing MMO's for that long than you should already know how Guildwars operates. This is only the beginning. They also have 2 other continents that haven't been introduced and they are even bigger than Tyria. People dissapointed with GW2 need to play GW's from scratch to understand the game and then play GW2 to fully appreciate it what it is. It's everything the players from GW1 asked them to create.
As far as Tera goes I really don't know about this game anymore. It seems what people suggest or points we try to get across just fall on deaf ears, and in the end EME/BHS or whomever just do what they want. "Help us improve TERA by giving us constructive feedback and suggestions. No flame wars, no personal attacks, no promotion of non-En Masse Entertainment commercial products, no discussions on which game is the best ever, simply no drama. This is the Official TERA forums, folks. It exists so that we can make TERA better. You can express your opinion on how we can improve the game without dividing and disrupting our community."
I get it I completely get what you guys are trying to do but that's a day dream. From Day 1 these forums were open to anyone and everyone and never made exclusive to actual subscribers only. You have actual subscribers trying to discuss the game normally while consistently being attacked by trolls and dropouts. What kind of positive environment can these forums possibly have with all these negative elements added to it. This game already has earned the reputation of having the worse in game community and forum community and that's probably the only records it's broken so far.
Since the first week this game launched people have been begging and begging and begging for something to be done about all the trolls on the forum and begging for it to be limited to actual paid subs to cut down on the troll volume but no one there listens. You people say "Help us improve TERA by giving us constructive feedback and suggestions "BUT NO ONE LISTENS!". So what is the point? So many people have tried to make just regular post on here about positive things and they just get spat on and defecated on by all the trolls, jerks, aholes, and usual forum scum that's only here to rain on everyone's parade.
"You can express your opinion on how we can improve the game without dividing and disrupting our community" That is IMPOSSIBLE to do on here because you folks haven't created that type of environment. You created a place to cultivate and harbor trolls that love to hate this game and won't hesitate to slander it at any opportunity they see. Have you ever seen what happens when someone new comes along and asks if they should buy this game? Have you! HAVE YOU? Try it! make a fake account and pose as a new player and asks "hey I"m thinking about buying Tera is it worth it" on your own forums and see what type of crap people have to deal with on here.
You can't say a single positive thing or even share something you like about the game without some ahole on standby jumping in to p*ss in your lemonade. This IS the OFFICIAL tera forums and you can't even asks if this game is worth buying on here without being told NO! That was the saddest thing I've ever seen.
I really don't get what the purpose of these forums are or what your company expects from them. There is no comradely here, this place is like a war zone except everyone is wearing the same fatigues so you don't know who to shoot at. Matter of fact I hate these forums, I hate this place! I've been looking for Tera fan sites to discuss the game but there are barely any that are active like that. This game is like a Ferrari with flat tire that's stuck in the worst part of town. honestly I don't know what you people form Enmasse are expecting from all this.
Yeah TERA has no future GW2 and WoW are far better games common everyone lets leave. Enmasse is going out of business and Tera is a waste of time. Lets go play something else.
Is that the reaction you "The end is near" people want from Tera? All you people do is come here to complain or try to scare off potential players from trying the game.
I'm sorry but wow is a freaking BORING game. That was boring 5 years ago when I first played it and is still boring today. It has NO in game story (unless you want to read lore books to know whats going on) it has the worst end game of any RPG. You spend hours trying to kill a boss they die here's your loot congrats! (yeah epic!) Then he respawns and nothing ever changes. It's just a carrot on a stick and I never liked it or its minecraft graphics. I'm not giving up the luxury of Tera and the comfort of watching the DD's on my Elf to go play with some freaking Panda's. So I can go jumping around doing what we've all been doing for the past 7 years in WoW just to play the most unbalanced class game in the history of MMO's.
People talk about end game. What is there to do in Wow at endgame? NOTHING! Oh wait here yah go. Grind for Arena points, Grind for raid armor doing the same raids over and over and over again. Grind for faction points, grind for titles, Do the same dailies 100000000 times. The game is stuck on wash rinse and repeat. I vomit to think of that Sunwell island place and all the epic dailys there back in the BC days. Wow is a waste of time.
Guildwars on the other hand deserves all the glory it's getting and I'm tire of people that weren't down with it from day 1 going round on the bandwagon trying to promote the game because you don't understand anything about it. You can't even begin to appreciate ones you completed all of GW1 expansions and Winds of change as well as all the other side mission in Kryta. You don't know about Guild wars till you watch Gwen as a kid in the first game and then fight along side her in the end when she's adult. You don't know guild wars till your swapping out builds and elite skills on your heroes so you can solo Hardmode. If you don't have any Hall of Momument points you shouldn't be talking nothing about Guildwars. Why do I say that because a lot of people have busted their behinds in that game because IT IS NOT EASY. You don't beat GW's unless you know what you're doing, and the achievements in that game are not given to you they are earned and they are hard to max out. You'll be running around with -60% Death penalty getting your rear handed to you wishing you were back in Pandaland. So don't come to me with no GW2 is the greatest thing ever unless you were there fighting through that game tooth and nail while everyone else was out cheering for Illidan and the lichking and Underbite from Cataclysm.
Just like TERA it's freakin awesome game but you folks just love to hate it. Go back to queue and wait for the Kungfu panda's to be released you can't handle Tera, you just aint ready.
