Past 40 your damage trails off as mob health scales up dramatically. While you can still solo BAMs with enough patience it's not worth your time.
You shouldn't need to kite around quest mobs or non-elites unless you are underleveled for the zone you're attempting. Your basic rotation for solo play should look something like this:
Pull with auto until the mob is within Triple-Nemesis -> Final Reprisal range. Energy stars. Shocking Implosion into another Final Reprisal. Metamorphic blast with the double hit. Triple-Nemesis into Final Reprisal.
Basically you want to use Shocking Implosion and Final Reprisal on cooldown. Get Energy Stars up when the mob is in range and weave your other abilities in when you can. You shouldn't need to heal yourself until the mob is dead. Mana Charge on your way to the next one.
If you are leveling by yourself and don't plan on doing much grouping, you should consider reglyphing. I recommend the following for solo questing:
Shocking Implosion - Powerlink (Buffs Final Reprisal)
Final Reprisal - Persistant (40% chance to eliminate cooldown)
Triple Nemesis - Enfeebling (20% chance to reduce enemy's endurance)
These will take 15 glyph points, leaving you plenty of room for other glyphs. Energy Stars is well worth the glyph points. Heal Thyself and Mana Charge (except for the Shocking Implosion glyph) are good. The auto attack glyph is good if you use it a lot but you really shouldn't be relying on it too much for its damage.
One other thing worth noting is your crystal choices. See if you can find some Hunter glyphs on the trade broker to increase your damage vs. normal mobs. They can be expensive sometimes but they're really good for leveling.
