That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that. I'd also like to add that a lot of people don't want to post for fear of someone attacking them. I don't know if this is the cause of it but from the people I know of who frequent forums, especially those of MMOs, there's definitely more who prefer to just read rather than participate. It's unfortunate, in my opinion, but so often on the internets it seems that the idea of being nice to others goes completely out the roof when there isn't a tangible consequence for one's treatment of others.
And on the topic suggested initially. I think one of the perks, be it good or bad, of playing on a lower-pop server is the ability to develop some sort of coherent structure and player identity within the community. Perhaps something that may come in time, as OP suggests, is player-defined rules as far as divvying BAMs. Personally, I think this is a great idea that could encourage inter-guild cohesiveness. What I find makes the MMO genre *extremely* fun, is when players create a system and work together to make something interesting.
I think the lack of responses has more to do with the fact this is an issue of interest to vanarchs and their guilds, not to the average player. I'm not even sure what you mean about hogging BAMs because I have no idea how the system works.

I was a little offput by the first impression of this guild being that of an entity willing to take humor out of christianity. If I were a christian, I could only see myself either laughing it off or feeling intimidated; neither of these reactions do I think of as positive.
After seeing what was posted in the vanarch discussion thread, I became... curious. It seemed like a really fun guild that stands out from the crowd of srsbizniz.
Then I also noticed the ad in their guild listing specifically recruiting for level 60s... I wasn't completely sure what this meant, but it gave me the impression that if I, a newer player in this game with only lower level characters, were to try to apply I would probably be denied or shunned.
I'm still not entirely sure of where I stand but the effort made in this thread defused a lot of my concerns. Still looming over my head though is the question, "who are you?"

There sure is a plentiful amount of sore fanny's in this thread. I'm really surprised that people would get their E-feelings hurt this badly over some political banter.
