bigmanpigman's Post History

Figures. Good to know. Probably shouldn't be wasting my time on games anyhow.

skip to TL;DR for question;

I played at release, rushed to level but quit the game just shy of 60. Thought I unsubscribed but apparently I'd made the mistake of purchasing 180 days game-play ( never again for MMOs). It appears that were I (or anyone) to be interested in starting to collect PVP gear on a fresh 60, they would be beaten down by every player who rode the first, fast, easy wave of gear collection.

So new players will have to take 3x as much time and effort just to near competitive levels (sad, since this game was advertised with a skill-dominating theme, but I digress). I'm not fond of the idea of grinding in any mmo anymore, far less given the disparity in favor of old players.

I know next week enchanting odds get better, and at some point the cost of all PVP gear will be cut in half following K-tera.

TL;DR. Any news of the devs being open in admitting this pvp system and gear grind is a bad design decision which will continue to fail in NA markets / offers nothing new to the genre of MMOs? Have there been any statements or indications of a willingness to implement real improvements and an acknowledgement of the sense of urgency in a time frame to do so?

=====
Otherwise if this is all Tera has to offer, and all it will have to offer: Grind a ton, get murdered for months if newcomer, and forget any illusions of world pvp/skill based combat then that's all I need to hear. Would be a huge waste of another engine with great potential to be a 'fun' game

This is a PVE game... why are they forcing PVP on us...

I'm on VoT and I wish they'd leave 8 channels in the game. It's so annoying to have people try to kill me as I level.
This is an mmorpg not a Pve game this Pvp-pve-rpPvp-rpPve etc... Learn about [filtered] before you open your mouth woman. And btw you're on a PvP server you have no right to complain about Pvp being forced on you this is a care bear pvp system as it what more do you want. People like you need to stop playing this game

No, they can play. They just need to be mercilessly slaughtered or move to a PVE server with any other like-minded folk.

If that's what they thought this game was about or wanted. Sad though, if they did.

PVP = only real challenge, dynamic content, replay value of funz
brb moving from 1 month sub to 6
:P

Many of us are very much for an "MMO" not feeling like a single player game.
Game companies know forums are a place people go to complain. The majority are too busy having fun playing the game.

Me? I'm posting because I'm bored on my phone in the bus.

most people rolled on a pvp server to pvp. I really don't see what the problem here is?
12 channels was stupid, if I went into any channel other than one I rarely if EVER saw another single human being playing the game. I think 4 is still more than enough.

Is this normal? My character says lvl 20

As you might have noticed by now, you do an event at 20, then start as level 1. This might seem overwhelming or odd at first but later on (or after playing many MMO's) it is a brilliant feature to let you quickly test a slightly more developed version of any class to get a flavor of it without needing to spend hours and hours to level it up first!
Where should you post or submit this so En Masse can see it and perhaps fix?

amd e350's are dual core, and amd cpu speeds are very different than intel's. AMD's high-line Opteron 6172 runs at a range around 2.1ghz? Compare that to Intel's running at 3.4 and 3.5 comparable chipsets.

apples and oranges my friend

AH! admittedly I was given false information and never took the 1 minute to Google contrary!

However, they did Fail the Can You Run it.
CPU passes, but CPU speed does not according to the results.
(Failed minimum 3.2 GHZ speed)
interestingly it also said that laptop could not run Magicka but it worked (decently)

But, that aside are you saying that an AMD chip preforms better than Intel at the same "ghz" ?

Friend was running Tera on a 1.6 ghz single core processor.

Im calling bs. Im having issues on 2.0 quad

they ran it on what the game adjusted to. Im sure it looked bad, but functioned.
specs:

AMD E-350 Processor 1.60 GHz
4 gigs ram (3.6 usable)
video card: AMD Radeon HD 6310M

What kind of problems were you having??

it won't break your pc, it will just run like [filtered] - modern pc's will auto shut down when overheated

its a new laptop. It didn't shut down through like level 5.

What areas of the game are most processor intensive that would potentially cause a shutdown to prevent CPU explosion ?
