darklingpersona's Post History

Even as an Amani I have this problem on occasion, that is when I use shift+up arrow key to move the camera over my character. It helps remedy the issue more often than not.

I just switched from High Elf to Aman last night. I'm not fond of the feet but that's stopped mattering... I *love* that my zerker is no longer a bland, blonde Barbie doll with a lot of similar-looking characters/NPCs around her:

I also LOVE the snarl idle animation, lol. It's a lot more fun than a HE's primping:

(The crotchless armor skin did have to go, though. That's what she had on originally when I made the switch and I couldn't buy new skins fast enough =P)

Krystaline, what armor is this you are wearing? It looks amazing. I want my lancer in it.

Just give them a global chat already. Have it turned off by default, so that you do not need to turn it off, but turn it on to use it. Also, make it so that there is no tab for it either by default, but that one must be created by the player if so desired.

Why all these limitations? Do you hate people interacting in a MMO this much? I agree with you on one point, make a global chat that is TURNED OFF by default.

But why go so far as make it no tab? And that the player themselves have to create the tab? Why go this far? Do you hate other people socializing this much, that you want to create as many obstacles for them as possible?

Please, if you can, give me a reasonable explanation why you require it to be no tab and that a player has to manually create it. I'd love to hear it.

I do not recall saying I hate other people socializing. You also mention limitations and obstacles like I listed more than one. I would think that if they did make a global chat you would be so thrilled that you would not care that you had to make a tab for it. -shrug-

You're right. I assumed from the tone of your post, and your idea to put an extra limitation that you hated people socializing. My mistake! Please, forgive me. I'm human/people, after all.
However, what you said about me being thrilled is also correct. Personally, I wouldn't care having to make that extra tab.

But my question, why do I need to make this tab in the first place? Why do you think I need to take one more extra step, that apparently doesn't have any meaningful intention behind it, unless you can provide me one, that is. Why? Isn't it enough that the channel is turned off default?

I only said that because I'm trying to find a way for both sides to be happy. It's difficult to find middle ground. I figured the people that hate global chat would be satisfied if they did not have to be assaulted with it by default, and those that want it would simply have to turn it on and make their tab.

I changed the "Majority/Minority" sentence. I didn't realize people on other servers were so livid and vile about the subject. /:

People will get livid and vile over any subject, which is why there is never any crystal clear solution to any issue that comes up in an MMO. There will always be opposing viewpoints. There will always be one group satisfied with a solution while the other is upset with it.

This is good. It will help keep people organized for maximum results and rewards. Thank you for trying to get everyone on the same page Gestalt.

I agree. I love RP, but would have loved it so much more on a PvP server, politics was made to be on a PvP server. On CH everyone does political "battle" with words, not swords. It could be so much better. That and the potential on a RP-PvP for anarchist guilds that make hell where other guilds have to band together to stand up to them. I wish there would have been a server like this at release.

I play a Lancer and I have absolutely no problem with these changes to Warrior. This is because a skilled player will play good regardless of the class. People like to say that Lancer is "easymode" tanking, but a skilled player will make anything look "easymode", including Warrior tanking.

This future patch will not be the death of anything. I will continue to play my Lancer and I will continue to progress doing so. In other MMO's I have played classes nerfed to the ground, and classes buffed to the sky, and I have never re-rolled as a result of any changes. You just adapt to them, because true balance is a myth. If you enjoy playing a Lancer, play a Lancer, the class is not dying.

the priest class isn't dying either but ask them how they feel about competing with mystics for their spot :)

These two classes have been able to queue as healers since release, so the "spot" never belonged to one or the other. I've heard some people say they prefer Mystic, others Priest. I personally have never done a dungeon with a Priest healer, only a Mystic, but that does not mean that I would never be open to having a Priest heal for me. This is because a skilled Priest will do the same thing as a skilled Mystic, keep the group alive.

It will be the same thing once Warriors can tank more efficiently, as long as both classes can do the job in skilled hands (keep people alive), people will not worry about it so much. Though I think that if both Lancers and Warriors would have been able to queue as tanks at release there would have been a whole lot less drama over the issue.
