I completely agree with all of the points brought up.

Great job OP.

one mmo to the next is just as different as a shooter to an mmo. tera being the way it is will be a hybrid in code.

To answer your question~ Yes that would appear to be exactly what im doing genious.

I love internet arguments. Scrabble champions. All of 'em.
Also, I've found that once you use a Safe Haven scroll, you'll automatically load into the higher population channel as opposed to the low population channel you were in before you ported.

That's a little rough on the rig too when you suddenly load in Lumbertown and are surrounded by 50+ NPC/PC merchants.

Absolutely something that should be addressed sooner rather than later.

Namely, some mobs tend to appear in your field of view nanoseconds before then begin their first stages of aggro. Not a huge problem most of the time, but every now and again you get jumped by three or four and it's frustrating.

I definitely agree with the FFXI statement as well. The way the PC's loaded by the Auction House in Jeuno was absolutely atrocious. It definitely breaks immersion and detracts from the overall experience. Not to mention the majority of the PC's are already spread out across four or five channels from the start.

As far as the bandwidth goes, any triple-A entry into the MMO genre should make sure to have as much of it as possible. The worst thing you can do is have players walk away from an experience with a bad taste in their mouth because latency or proper cull distance is a glaring problem.
I've been pouring every last ounce of free time I have into TERA CBT3 and, among small bugs, there is one in particular that I really wish would be changed.

Falling animation/falling ground contact lock-up. For a moment, upon hitting the ground, your character will almost lock-up and not allow you to move forward. I feel like this makes the animation pane look stilted and robotic. I'd like to believe (unless, obviously, falling from a height that would kill you outright) that most people would roll to absorb the majority of the impact across their body.

Hell, even if they ran forward unbalanced for a few steps it would look heads an tails better than falling, hitting the ground, and stalling there for a second or two before forward progress happens unimpeded again.

Obviously, this is cosmetic, as the second that you lose when making contact is negligible in outrunning any mob wandering the area. I just think it's extra bits of polish like this that help with total immersion, especially because everything else is animated so beautifully.

I'd like to hear some feedback, what's everyone think?
Wrong thread. -_-;

Chat filter is a bit extreme.

Plus, people start to get creative with the "l33t' speak to get around the filters and that is equally, if not more, annoying. I say get rid of them. You already have scantily clad women in bikini plate armor, who cares if some one says '[filtered]'.

Ah, filter got me again. Damnit.
Haha, I remember thinking the same thing.

I guess what it comes down to is, call it what you want, just let me grow a beard post-creation and shave it off at a later date. Who knows? Maybe some important gathering. Spending a day at the beach. Running for office and want a cleaner appearance as opposed to the grizzled war veteran look. Jury duty. Whatever.

Granted, I'm not exactly fluent with the Unreal engine, but it can't be all that hard to add that functionality. Or maybe it's nigh impossible. I won't make assumptions. Either way, EME should get on that at their earliest possible convenience.
I wish it wasn't so hard to change things post-creation. Especially cause, throughout my lifetime I've had a multitude of different styles. Hell, I used to dye my hair cause I got bored. I feel like if you add that level of immersion it helps break the "static character" that you've had since level 1.
