Wow, butthurt much? At $10/month, Tera is still far and away one of the cheapest forms of entertainment I pay for - it's as cheap as Netflix, cheaper than cable, cheaper than a single movie, cheaper than going out for a drink with friends, cheaper than dinner, cheaper than taking my girl out anywhere, cheaper than the data plan for my phone, and it's almost as cheap as a pack of smokes. A few hours or even days of downtime is truly annoying for a product you've paid for, but it's hardly life changing or worth spending much time raging about.... even at $15/mo, you're paying ~$0.02/hour for entertainment - is it worth spending much time being upset about a billing issue on the first day the billing system is live? Not to me, but to each their own...

I don't know about Netflix being European, so I'll talk about what I know of.

If my cable provider fails me for a full day, I'll either get some kind of compensation, or I'm done with them.

If I got to a movie and there's something that doesn't let me enjoy the full movie, and the fault is on the cinema owner, I'll get my full money back.

List goes on. Got my point now?

I'm bored because TERA is the only game I'm currently playing. I even posted on Twitter that I was going to take this time and read a book.

I only stayed on the forums because a lot of people here seem to think this is acceptable, for whatever reason.

This won't get solved if everyone that comes in here says "Aw, downtime? Well, thank you En Masse, now I can go be healthy!". I already understood that Sp1n won't ever get this, but if you want to be on his side I'm fine with it, give me something to argue about until this game is back up.

SIgh you're one of those types. Downtimes happen on ALL MMOS. ALL OF THEM. You need to get over yourself and just accept it. You paid for the GAME, the game files installed on your computer are what you paid for. You got a free 30 days (29 I guess because of the issues today) as a gift for buying the game. Not to mention the extra head start if you pre-ordered plus the open beta progress carrying over. The current time you are losing was FREE, you lost no money for it.

Now, if you're having issues with subscribing or were double charged then sure you have a right to be mad and complain. But not being able to access servers is a common thing among all games f2p or p2p so if that's your only issue then fine but keep the complaints to yourself because they are unwarranted. The only legitimate complaints are the payment/not being able to set up payment ones.

What the glorious [filtered]. Do you even have a clue what you're talking about? Just because everyone else gives you a [filtered] service, and thus making the consumer think that's normal thing when you get a [filtered] service, doesn't make it any more acceptable for me. Why should it?

I'm way past that point as a consumer. You should too.

I couldn't care less about this month being free or not, I had to pay to be able to play, and I have to keep paying to be able to keep playing, where is the free in all of this. What the [filtered] does that matter anyway?

I did not pay for the files, as those are freely available on the internet, like they are for every game.
I paid so I could play.

I'll give you some simple math:

10(monthly fee) / 30(days of playtime) = 0.33 (cost per day)

If you think 30 cents is why I'm complaining on the forums, then my only conclusion is that your time is worthless.

I'm complaining about wanting to play and not being able to play. Bugs shouldn't dictate when I get to play or not, considering that I already threw money in EME way.

If you think downtime is acceptable, and if that's the idea consumers end up passing on to companies, well, have fun with your "maybe it's up, maybe it's not, just make sure you're paying" future.

I don't see how it fails to hurt the consumer, as I cannot play and I bought CE as well. But a free month is just that, a FREE month they don't have to include with the game. The billing period hasn't started (it's supposed to start June 1st.) So right now is still the free game time, better this happens now and we get it out of the way rather than when we are actually paying to access servers.

So hopefully when this ends I won't get auto charged on my old card and have to deal with that. The system being as bad as this is a HUGE problem, yes. It sucks, we can't play. But not playing isn't the problem. Getting overcharged is what I'm worried about, or dealing with extra fees because of them charging the wrong card, etc.

Hey, you might be as dumb as you want and think the world is a pink place where we all live.

I paid 60 bucks for TERA. The month isn't free because I had to pay for it, no option there.

If I didn't pay the 60 bucks I couldn't access the servers right now, so I fail to see how I'm playing for free.

If this happens now or in the future, it makes no difference to me, it's still downtime.

I don't tolerate downtime on online games very well, even less when I'm paying my subscription fee for the company to keep things going.

If you don't think you're entitled to a PREMIUM SERVICE by paying a fee EVERY MONTH, I'm not going to bother with you. If TERA was free-to-play like League of Legends, I couldn't care less about downtime, but because it isn't, I do care.

I'm not going to be paying every month to a company I don't feel is reliable. The fastest we get the clear idea if we can trust EME or not, the better.

Right now it's already been twice that they fail with subscription errors, add that to the fact that this game goes downhill as you progress through the levels, and now I'm left wondering if I should bother with TERA or not.

Please don't try to argue with me, as we're clearly two completely different type of consumers.
You apparently don't really care about being screwed out of your ability to play, well I do.

Here's the way I see it.

The people complaining because their account didn't auto-renew and is listed as "expired" simply need to learn some patience.

Here's the way I see it.

If you pay someone for a service / game and they fail to deliver, you have the right to complain.

I paid for a reason, I want to play, I'm not able to play right now, so why am I paying?
Sp1n on 05/30/2012, 11:16 AM - view

What? It's the free month. Subscriptions havn't started yet so we aren't paying for our game access yet.

The free month is a gift, we didn't pay anything for it. We paid for the game files, yes, but MMOs don't work like non-online games.

I paid 60 bucks and got a free month for paying the 60 bucks, in no way do I consider this month free.

This being an MMO means uptime and bugs like these that affect the uptime really matter. This is EME's fault, I gave them my credit card info and they failed to have the system bill me and let me play.

If you fail to see how this hurts the consumer then you're just a fanboy who will pay for a subpar service.

We paid for play, fix this issue ASAP and reward us for the discomfort.

Actually, we havn't started paying yet.

You got your game for free? Must be nice.
I setup my subscription as soon as I bought TERA. It even shows that I selected the 3 months, with a green outline.

On my Account overview it says:

Subscription
Status: Expired

When I try to setup a sub it tells me:

Subscription Activation Error
It appears that you have an existing TERA subscription set up or have one pending.

You can check to see if you have a pending subscription by going to your Account Overview page.
If you want to manage/edit your existing subscription, you can do so by navigating to your Account Overview page and clicking "Manage Subscription".

I do have a subscription set up, as I already gave away my credit card information, if you can't do something as simple as taking away my money and letting me play, I'm not going to bother with TERA.

En Masse is also mocking their playerbase with the "Manage Subscription", as they clearly haven't implemented it yet, so why have an official page mention it?

All very unprofessional. I was on the fence about staying after experiencing how downhill this game goes past lv50, this might just make my decision easier.

I wonder if I'll still be able to cancel, like En Masse said I would.

Panda already owns IOD. King Forever.

When you've dedicated 4-5 days /palyed at level 2 on IOD.... Then Ill think about holding A debate with you.

PANDA LOVES YOU!

Panda.Pants~

Omg Pants, why can't you just make room on your friendlist so I can friend you? I'll vote for you if you do that.
Panda Bench Pressers is like 10-0 against Fairy Tail. Flawless is letting in anyone who applies, so there is a lot of [filtered] in there, we beat them once that they declared on us.

APHOTIC beat NFA for the first time once, I think, lol.
Have fun with your second choice of territory.
