Why would you want to play on the NA servers if you live in Russia or other CIS country? Go play on the EU servers.

Because playing an MMO is not just about smashing buttons at best possible ping, people like to play with other people, usually friends from other games. And since most popular games don't support IP blocking, people actually get to make friends and like to interact with, you know, the rest of the world.

And there should be a CLEAR announcement on the pre-order page. Only reason I discovered it was because it wouldn't let me put a Japanese address and I had to ask in forums (cuz honestly after all the no IP blocking announcements it didn't even cross my mind they were going to do it).

IP blocking never works. A lot of MMORPGs that get published in North America generally tend to block IPs outside of North America. Yet even despite this you still end up seeing every single one of those games infested with gold farmers and bots spamming ads for those gold selling sites. So it just goes to prove that IP blocking doesn't do a darn thing to really prevent them.

IP blocking only blocks the real players not the sellers/"hackers".
They promised over and over there would be no IP blocking. Whoever thinks IP blocking Russia and Asia will get rid of farmers is going to be sadly disappointed.

I'm pretty much in shock because for well over a year the same question came up about IP blocking and the response from enmasse was always the same, there would be no IP blocking. Now suddenly not only there is IP blocking but there is a massive IP blocking blanket. ALL Asia/Middle East/Africa/Russia... really ? Easier to just say you can only play from America Europe and Australia/NZ.

I guess serves us right for thinking EnMasse was different from NCSoft.
O wow what? They assured over and over for all this time (1+year) there would be no IP blocking of any kind...
So I went to pre-order and there is no option for "Japan" from the drop down menu. Now I could just buy a physical copy which is retarded but fine I understand they might have a conflict of interest with the masses of Japanese customers who most probably don't even know the game exists outside asia. But does this mean I can't actually subscribe to the game in the future either?

I really hope there will be time cards eventually or some other way of subscribing that don't require an address or CC.
