my thing is i practically 2-3 shot every mob i fight, i dont see how taking the extra time to get behind a mob to maybe 1-2 shot is worth it considering i cnat just instantly port behind a mob
my friend keeps telling me to use all these crystals that require me to be behind a mob or have them knocked down, but honestly that seems like i'd just be wasting time trying to get behind mobs when i can just full on attack them.

i am currently using the crystals that give you mana every 5 seconds. free mana seems like it would be good for a beserker since hell you use abilities that give you less mana as a beserker. but he sais im doing it wrong.

so forums, what is the right way to crystal a beserker?
i've made it a habit to always unbind my S key from moving backwards in MMOs. however in this game u cant jump and use abilities(which baffles me).

would you say in this game a hunter should keep his S key bound to back pedaling? if so i prob dont wanna play this class anyways lol

I play berserker and I do ok vs archers because they have no real tools to counter block. Their charge arrow chip damage usually is not enough for kill me before they eventually mess up and get in a nice range. Their backdash doesn't seem to have safe frames and very few people know about elin/castanic thunder strike dead zone at close range so in dash I can land hits reliably. I played baraka berserker for the beta and the close range thunder strike was really hard to use. Don't be fooled by the people who say "any class is great for berserker". Elin and castanic leap on ts is worlds better for pvp. You also get staggering to stun long enough to land flatten and your roar to slow / stop backdash. It's still a hard fight but you do have what you need to win.

On topic though. The biggest issue for me is the mana. Cyclone is never going to get a glyph for movement speed and I understand why that is, but a full charge costs what....280-350 mana? Then you get staggered and lose it all for nothing. I don't mind the time loss, berserker is not a dps class, it is a burst class and there is a big difference. Losing 3 seconds for me is not a big deal when I have one shot potential. Losing the mana and then having to wait on mana skill cooldowns / mana from a healer to then have another chance at landing a skill....that's really stupid.

In my opinion, berserkers should not be staggerable during charge up. Knockdown is fine, stun is fine, I'll welcome those. I don't mind if people are going to use skills/cooldowns to disable me, but random pokes breaking charge costing me time and more importantly mana is hella stupid.

Archer's currently are fine, When the game launched in KTera yes it was as bad as people would have you believe. They got major dps boosts in patches to bring them up to par and are now competitive with the other dps classes. Due to being really terrible for quite a long time on KTera it is currently very rare to even see archers in KTera much less have them land in a party that will give them a chance to show what the class can do now.

Archer's range is currently 12m for full damage in NA tera, so while its shorter then a sorc your range is still adequate. Archer's also do not rely on the overcharge ability on their charge ups to achieve maximum dps like zerkers do which helps offset many of the downsides to charge skills.

Zerker's on the other had do have issues and the dev's have admitted this and the QoA part 2 patch will bring with it improvements to the zerkers dps.

Play what you want, the dev's are constantly hard at work balancing classes and making sure if there is a discrepancy it will be fixed. It's also worth noting for zerkers and movement heavy fight issues unlike KTera we have more then just the 2 60 hardmodes for endgame gear. The 58 dungeons being bumped up to 60 alleviate most issues people bring up.

so archers and beserkers are "fine" in pvp? its just that in pve is where they arnt that good?

right now i have a lvl 23 beserker and i just made my archer and wanted to probably lvl him to around the same lvl to see what i want to make my main.

im not looking for a FOTM, i like playing the classes i find fun, however i also dont want to play a class i find fun if i am inherently weaker than most people at my same skill level just because of the class i picked
ya honestly i thought beserkers were fine, til i pvped.

then i thought, fine whatever, i dont have my most important skills....

then i did dungeons... and the lack of a charge move is so annoying.....
so archers started out horrible, then got buffed, and nobody still plays them on ktera? does nobody play them cus they rerolled? or are they still actually weak.

the 2 classes i want to play most just happen to be the classes everybody is calling weak. beserker and archer.

so can anybody clear up this info?
how do you cancel a preorder? im really starting to think i should not have bought this game...

supposedly theyre playable in group pvp when people babysit you, but until then... youre gonna hate yourself if youre on a pvp server, i promise you.




Learn to block better...? Get mana regen red crystals, just block all day. They'll either eventually get tired of chasing you or if it's melee be patient and get that KD in and bring some pain.

Apparently I see you missed the part where "eventually they'll get bored and give up". If it's range just try and last, you probly won't kill them until later on. If it's melee you gotta get them to blow their dodge if its a slayer/warrior so you can flatten. If it's a Lancer well..just be prepared for a very long and boring blockfest.
