I'm one of the leaders of a guild that shares power between 3 people, and we had planned on running for vanarch in a cycle. However it seems like that will be impossible within a single guild. If the guild leader becomes vanarch he can't stop being guild leader, and in order for the next person to run for vanarch, they would have to be a guild leader. So the only way to do this would to be to not run every other election, or to step down as vanarch more than a week in advance of every cycle's end. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is how it works?
The only way I know of to do this is to be good with coordinating your wasd movement with your mouse.
people expect this game to play like other MMOs. It doesn't, and it won't. This game plays like a hybrid of an action game and an MMO. There's no option to look around without changing the direction your character is aiming, there's no way to click your skills in combat, there's no way to stand somewhere in battle and focus on your skill rotation. If you don't have good reflexes and good hand-eye coordination you're going to have a difficult time with this game. TERA is not going to lose customers because of these elements of the game, rather the people who need gameplay like that were never part of the target audience to begin with.

I agree with just about everything you mentioned. Our guild does not have a traditional power scheme, we have 5 leaders all with equal power, and we need to just pass leader around when we want to do certain things. There needs to be a lot of options that you can assign to ranks. for instance: Change member ranks, allow withdrawal of only specific bank tabs, declare wars, forfeit wars, change the guild ad, kick members, change the guild logo, change the guild title, up the guild rank, etc., ect.
other things:
MotD needs to be reworked. Currently it has a really low character limit, and if you go over it, it doesn't tell you, it just doesn't save. This is so frustrating.
We need another tab where we can write a lot about the guild. Currently the only thing you have is the MotD, where you can fit a single url. It's therefore required to have a guild site or tell every new member the same info about your guild. Another tab where you could write paragraphs about your guild, add your voip server address, say what guilds you're allied with, and whatever else you need would be such an improvement.
On that note, we also need guild alliances. Maybe balance alliances by making each alliance max out at 500 or 750 or 1000 total members across all guilds in the alliance, that way you don't have to worry about all the big guilds on the server joining together to make an indomitable alliance, and it would also let many small guilds band together to overthrow a bigger army. Currently the only options in GvG are be a bigger zerg or be a nonfactor.
