Oh nice! Just what I wanted
Hi guys

I stopped playing TERA before BG's were released. I was wondering, compared to other MMORPG's, is their any PvP system which so to say, records PvP progress? Any stats, any ratings or otherwise? Are there any rankings or otherwise? I think before I left there was zilch, so you would only kill for the sake of it, which is fun, but sometimes having "competitive" goals makes it more fun.

Thank you

Me no gusta.. Go redo it again!
Diablo 3 isn't finished, they didn't add the PvP because they wasn't happy with it...

Although personally I will stuck around, I will not be surprised or condemn if as many as 60%+ leave, I mean people leave F2P games if they are not satisfied with the level of content - imagine a game you had to buy and pay a sub for - it wouldn't be right to condemn them to leave on the basis of content which is not testable, guaranteed etc - so you are asking them to pay for x months, for content which could be argued should be there in the first place - then there is still the risk of it not being as you imagined, or it having to go through months of reworking. You see my point? I'd love for them to stay, but I can't say they would be wrong to go.

For that reason, I hope En Masse have a good strategy ahead of them. Don't want this game to become a ghost town since I really like it

As a 'longtime KTERA player' like yourself should know, Tera was -never- about pvp. Who would have imagined that owpvp would be boring after a very short while? Oh wait...I did, but nevermind that.

As for the bulk of your post though, in all honesty I'd have to be pretty much in agreement with you from a pvp perspective. Counting on owpvp to last for any length of time probably wasn't a good thing, especially as late as we found out there would be no battlegrounds until September. Still, we -did- have advance warning. I don't think most people expected it to wear thin as quickly as it did, but that's the nature of pvp -- it gets old, and it gets old quick imo.

OWPvP is awkward in TERA due to everyone who would fight eachother, are in the same areas all the time, i.e. it isn't faction based - like say Aion. Without faction based gameplay, it makes OWPvP weird - with faction based, you at least make it clear 2 different armies, from different areas - meet in certain areas, or go to invade with risk.

In TERA, you unfortunately have to have this flagging system, due to no factions. Now, I know factions have their problems (i.e. balancing 2 factions in terms of players) - but it is a nice way to do OWPvP. Some would complain OWPvP in aion was just a zergfest etc - but OWPvP is a war, it isn't a strategic 5v5 duel, it is akin to unorganised GvG, you may get outnumbered. Also, Aion OWPvP could have been better if the carebears did not complain too much about dying (and if they removed loss of AP on death perhaps) - I died a lot too, loved the OWPvP in Aion.

I agree with OP.

It is because I like this game - that I request both PvE and PvP content to be introduced quickly, even if unpolished, just to keep people interested - instead of waiting too long and losing too many people.

I myself, like the OP, will stick around - but I can see, especially with a sub, people leaving. Heck, I already left D3 because I got bored - and atm, due to lack of content, I am scared to level my level 27 warrior, so I don't reach cap and have nothing to do (so I play a couple of hours a week).

Come on enmasse, if you can't introduce new content now - showcase it to keep people interested.

Come end of the month, the majority of the people should have incentive to pay the sub - I don't want only a handful of patient or those who are in organised guilds/parties (reason I mention this is, any form of consistant social element in a game makes it fun, even if the game is bad, not saying TERA is bad ofcourse..).

Even I myself, find it hard to pay the sub (I will in the end anyway) - even though being nowhere near the level cap. I guess, I can't see that golden carrot.

En Masse, why u no give golden carrot! :D

In WoW, just having the arena allows there to be a goal of being top 100, top 10, top1 of the ladder - even though you may only be 8457485th, the fact that there is something available to do - even if you don't do it, keeps your interest in the game. (Btw, nothing is wrong with arena, the reason why WoW got a bad rep for arena was, due to it changing PvE for balancing arena, something it DID not have to do).

diablo 3 was £27 at one point on amazon as a preorder, while £45 on blizzard, it is still cheaper on amazon by far. I thought it was quite common that even at launch/prelaunch, 3rd party will nearly always be cheaper, even be 50%
Most games forums have mainly game complaints so don't be thrown off - the only ones which have a relatively low amount of complaints (in which they all get flamed by the community defending the game, even if it is a legitimate criticism) are WoW, LoL, Rift and Dota.

It is pretty difficult to get to their status to be honest.
