I would like to see PvP switch for individual players. My guild going to battle shouldn't make me have to either be forced into a PvP situation, not play, or leave my guild.
I selected a PvE server so I would not have to PvP. I do not like PvP. I will admit freely, I do not like PvP, because I suck at it, and I do not want to be forced into becoming an easy target (which again, I freely admit, I am because I suck at PvP.).
My partner is having this issue now as well.
It seems, more like the patcher/launcher is snagging up on something and the whole host of tiny little odd "fixes" and work arounds is drastically different for each person, that just, seems odd. It's not one system, or OS, or one thing in common outside the patcher/launcher not working. That is the only common theme.
It's really.... frustrating.
I have tried everything. Even a system restore failed to fix this issue.
Use the ccleaner after you uninstall and the download game.
I used the cleaner before I started dowloading. Also I made sure I had all my WIn7 is up to date. My UAC is also turned off atm. The UAC idea was one of the GM's round about that they gave me along with a clean boot. So maybe it may all have something to do with one another and not just straight DL'ing the game.
I did that. *nods* Also used Revo to uninstall in addition to Windows uninstall. I also tried the "workaround" to no avail.
So.. I've tried to reinstall using my CD's, utter uselessness.
I figured I'd try to reinstalling again but using the download option. TA-DA! I new see my launcher and was able to login and it's now downloading. At least atm I have gotten past the whole launcher issue. So hopefully this will solve the problem. I'll keep ya's updated after I'm done. 2.5h left.
Ah, wish that was working for me, sadly, it's not.
so, live chat has told me it's all due to a windows update conflicting with Tera, I asked two different support people, who both said the same thing. I just find this absurd. There is no ETA for a fix either.
it broke the launcher for me.
and now..it's reinstalled.. the launcher will launch, do a patch really fast, and crash before I can do anything.
Starting with the last big patch, my launcher slowed down, a lot. Starting today, it doesn't start at all. Windows is updated, I have no firewall or AV programs running, I run it as admin, I have deleted and re-installed. This is still an issue. I can not run the patcher/launcher repair as the launcher won't start.
All my characters are male. I am just, no good at RPing a female.
