indytims's Post History

Ever since launch, killing the mobs on some quests, especially Guild 'kill' quests, does not always give credit per kill.

In fact, it usually takes 3-4 kills to get credit once. So when the quest says "Kill 10", we end up having to kill 30-40 instead.

PLEASE fix this. This is *incredibly* annoying, If we are SUPPOSED to kill 40, please change the quests to say "Kill 40".

Otherwise, the questing in this game seems to be ok, pretty much like questing in other games
The character models, though I am still disappointed in the massive amount of censorship we see in an "M" rated game.

Combat is kinda fun, but gets repetitive quickly. Still, it's different than what I am used to.

Stop censoring the game and port version for version without changes to the game, Why change what already does so great right? Also this is a mature game after all...

+1

This is not an "M" rated game. This is a very Teen game, at most.
Something like this will vary from person to person. So and so will have had worse experiences in TOR. Another person will swear that WOW was the worst community they've ever experienced. So on and so forth.

There is no 'cure' for the d-bags in this (or any other) game. Well, there IS one cure, and that's to cancel your sub. Or at the very least, turn off chat channels and such in-game.

Personally, I think Tera's community overall is pretty bad. Yes, there are exceptions, but so far in my experience, it's mostly crap, with a few GOOD exceptions, whereas in most other MMO's I've played, it's mostly good with a few BAD exceptions.

I've fixed this by simply turning off chat, and playing with guildies/RL friends. Problem solved, for me at least.

It's the 'internet condition', and as long as dbags can hide behind computer monitors and say what they want, there will always BE an 'internet condition'.
This game will be F2P within 2 years, I'd bet money on it. As Hardfought just explained, it has one thing really 'different' than other MMOs, and that really isn't enough to say this game is 'revolutionary'. Tera is STILL so very much like Aion in a lot of ways, and Aion had cool flight mechanics, etc. I think it's a pretty safe bet to say, at least in the west, look at how Aion has fared, and Tera is likely to see a similar fate.

I can only handle Area chat in small doses. When it starts to get stupid - which happens pretty much at some point every night, I will wait it out, or more commonly I will simply turn it off, then turn it on again later, or the next day.

There are always going to be people looking to boost their self-esteem by trying to be funny, snarky, smart-alecky, etc. Even on RP servers, you're going to get people with the stupid non-RP names, who have zero interest in RP, doing and saying stupid stuff just to get a rise out of people. These attention-starved exceptions will always abound, no matter what.

Use the features of the game to improve your gaming experience. No amount of discussion here, or complaining here, is going to change this. I seriously doubt EME is going to ban anyone for being a social moron in Area chat, so it's not likely to change anytime soon.

Most importantly, enjoy the game if you can. Sometimes, that's simply best done in silence.

Chat bugs still abound, and REALLY need to be addressed STILL: faulty filtering, disappearing text, loss of text when using basic punctuation, etc. This is such a huge sign of incompetence that it blows my mind.

Also - please do NOT make mobs take forever to kill. Aion was boring as doodoo because of this. Wasting time =/= challenge. Let mobs hit harder? Sure. But do NOT add HP to mobs, please. Boss mobs, special mobs, etc, are one thing. But basic mobs for quest grinding and such should not require enormous amounts of time to down.

Crafting is crap. It feels VERY 'last minute' and this is obvious when looking at mat prices, and how rare some of the basic mats drop. I highly doubt there is a 'crafting dev', but if there really isn't one, there NEEDS to be one.

Just the silliest things off the top of my head.

Because Warriors are just plain sexy, and Lancers look goofy. :)
On PVP servers, by signing up to that server you've ASKED for confrontation with other players. I don't feel too badly for you, sorry. Then again, I don't play on PVP servers.

On PVE servers, the more channels the better. Folks who want a 'more crowded' experience can sit in channel 1. Those of us who don't want to contest for spawns/nodes/whatever, can move to different channels and find a less crowded atmosphere. Both styles win.

Very disappointed in this move by EME.
I can actually see some fair points/opinions by the OP. I may not agree with them, but I can understand why he's making those points. In the end, he needs to decide if the class is 'right' for him or not. If not, there are others to try.

But - claiming that the Warrior is not a 'tank' either demonstrates the OP isn't very aware of the Warrior class to begin with, or that he's in a serious case of denial for reasons unknown. Yes, I've read the reasons he's POSTED that "warriors aren't tanks", and those reasons don't make any sense. It's pretty evident that Warriors ARE tanks. They may not be as easy-button to play in that role as Lancers are, but they're still tanks.
